Great video! I REALLY want to read The Sin Eater and Daughters of Night, The Other Bennet Sister, The True Queen, Doll Factory and The Muse all sound so good! I also throughly enjoyed Half of a Yellow Sun and would really recommend it!
I would add: The Butcher’s Hook by Janet Ellis Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue Half of a Yellow Sun is one of my favourite books from recent years. Great list!
I love The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar, about an 18th century courtesan, and The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry a gothic tale about science and obsession
More recommendations for you The Good People by Hannah Kent The Wonder by Emma Donoghue Frog Music by Emma Donoghue The Actress by Ann Enright All Among the Barley by Melissa Harrison The Trick to Time by Kit de Waal
I always love your historical fiction videos; I get some great recommendations from them as HF is my favorite genre. Since I was a teenager in the 1960s, I think the 1940s should be the cutoff for books considered historical fiction lol.
you always talk about a lot of books I've never heard about! thank you for the recommendations
