The Honey Bee header looks like a must have once it fits into your budget. Here in Ohio we only use flex headers for harvesting soybeans. We have rocks similar to your conditions and find the flex headers a must have. Because of our higher traffic conditions we carry our headers on J and M steerable carts. They are perfect to maneuver through towns and also the narrow country roads. We also use a CaseIH combine (7250) equipped with an 18row (20 inch) corn head and a 35ft. Flex Draper. We also put in some long hours and harvest a little over 3000 acres with one machine. I appreciate your videos and it helps me to keep connected to the farm since I retired. I operate the combine and help moving equipment around when I can but just can’t take the long hours at 81.
Its sad seeing all your hard work your determination just go to crap. I grew up on a farm not row crop but a contract grower for Tyson we had many trials tribulations and too many fianancial hardships to mention and like Tony and the walkers. Its hard to put on a happy face and tell the world everything is ok. People watch the videos and think it's a worry free glamorous lifestyle. Farming is a honest living not for the weak or faint of heart but a honest living my heart goes out to the American farmer and thier families I know we wouldn't be able to survive without you. Thank you brother.
In 1976 we had a severe drought in our area. I did have some 40 bushel wheat, but 20 was the norm. In the fall we harvested some corn acres but a lot of the acres were zeroed out with an estimated yield of 3 bushels per acre. We are extremely dry here this year in SW Minnesota also
hey colin i wish i had a picture of the auger system we built. we turned the axles on the augers 90 degrees to the auger, and put a 6 inch rim on the end where the hoper goes. taking off the tires we set the rims on two legths of rail road rails. and put a hitch on the auger to pull it from the side alined to the PTO shaft. we never unhooked the tractor on the auger. where ever the spout dropped into a bin there was a ground out divit in the rails so as you backed up or pulled ahead the weels dropped in them and told you the spout was in the hole up on the bins. it worked so slick the grain truck driver could move from bin to bin with out any effort. giggles took longest to start the old W6 international tractor with the crank than any part of it. it had no ellect start. but was a good auger tractor. and loading trucks the openings were on opposite side. and it worked well cause no tracks to hop over.
Like the video on the demo on the new head sorry for the crop loss that you had this year just have to hope and pray for better days always be safe and God bless
I enjoy you demoing the Honey Bee header, looks nice. It just hurts to watch you guys trying to get the short and thin crops. I went thru that in 80 88 89. You never recover from that. Good luck
That hill Colin went down didn't look overley steep to start with but then, when he turned the camera around ... WOW ... the grain cart was above him!!!😨😨
In Australia you can insure for frost, hail, wind and rain .... but not drought. In 2006 my parents harvested 500 tonnes off of 10000 acres resulting in a seven figure nett loss. Glad to see you guys get a better deal ....
Sorry to hear about the insurance write-off this year. Sucks to have that time and money in and get nothing out. Thanks for showing the Honey Bee demo. Seen some of their stuff around here (Texas) for some specialty crops, but not what they offer in the more "conventional" side. They seem like they have some features that might fit your operations well.
Best of both worlds with wing flex along with cutter bar would be the Geringhoff Truflex Razor. But unfortunately they’re max (currently-who knows) is 40’. Love the videos Tony! Prayers for yourself, family and crew this harvest.
I was looking at the new 60’ and had one question. At what point is it that the combine can’t process what the header is bringing in. Can you overload a combine?
OH wow you guys have some pretty vicious hills around there just like we had back home. was hills we could only combine cultivate or bale ect going down
Enjoyed the Honey Bee demo. MacDon & Honey Bee both good equipment. How about a point by point comparison of the two - no sell - just the facts. I believe Mac has a new header out also. Is the Bee worth serious consideration?
sad to see the bee leave. Just when I was beginning to like her. I just baled 16 round bales of second cutting of hay today. Between raking and baling, almost 5 hours. Kind of funny when you look at what you guys farm in the same amount of time.
do you have to worry about the reel teeth getting into the cuterbar like the auger headers and then the reel cant reach short crop? also is the head offset or centered for the unload auger?
That header is a gift from God for this year’s crop being so low to the ground. I’m amazed by the advancements in Ag equipment. They’re always striving for less physical work for the farmer, but capturing more yield.
@@hughstephenson2957 As the peas are put in large bins, surely some die in the bin. I'm not a farmer and don't know. Do these dead grasshoppers cause pea storage problems?
wouldn't it be funny if that header was on its way thru the USA to someone over there further away and was stoping at the TH-cam PEEPS for an hour or 2 to TEST and STICKER it before it ends up at someones place, over there,,,, on the other side of the ... trip?? LLOOLL wait that was funny in my head
Winter wheat will have to establish over the rest of growing season, needing rain. To seed winter wheat now would be costly since ground is dry. It would shake an air seeder to pieces and burn of points.
@@FastAgMontana Does that soybean model work with small grains too then or not? Or are the gauge wheels the removable option to convert to small grains?
In 1988 our best crop was about 5 bu/ acre. We feel your pain. Droughts are part of farming and nothing new but it’s definitely painful. 🙏

I like the way the dolly attaches to the header. It can be a single person operation

You're in my thoughts and prayers Tony.
Tony have you seen the new MacDon FD 2 series they go up to 50 feet
Great job driving the grain cart Colin
Great video Tony and Colin
Good luck combining your 2021 crops Tony and your Dad

Awesome looking honey bee header Tony

We love the honey bee in soybeans vs the macdon in the rolling hills and terraces
we have been running honey bee for over 4 years now we even wheat in flex mode with the skid plates, just hit the resume button drop and go
This is a tough year to test in wheat. I wish we had an average crop to see how it works.
@@FastAgMontana our barley averaged around 80, may try the wheat tomorrow, but we are in an exceptional pocket of good crops, at least the early ones
See Colin wearing some cool shirt finally🤙

I know where the header went!!!!!! Strathclair Manitoba showed up tonight.
How is the breaks of a craincart working?
Tony could you give the reason for going to one drill and one tractor for seeding thks.good videos
How do you have the grasshoppers removed from the peas?
hey Tony really enjoy your video's but I have a question . What happens to all the grasshoppers ?
They dry out and become very light and are just considered dockage at the elevator.
Honey Bee looking like a freight train leaving the yard👍👍
You should see their 60 foot...
Hi tony im not sure where the honey bee will go next but I’m sure it will end up on a mike Mitchell video
Thank you, God bless
do you have to worry about the reel teeth getting into the cuterbar like the auger headers and then the reel cant reach short crop? also is the head offset or centered for the unload auger?
Hang in there Folks!
Would you like some crop with those grasshoppers?
That header is a gift from God for this year’s crop being so low to the ground. I’m amazed by the advancements in Ag equipment. They’re always striving for less physical work for the farmer, but capturing more yield.
God had nothing to do with it, modern science and human beings are responsible.
Seems like all life's problems melt away at the lake . Atleast for the till you get back home
The honey bee head looked like it was sitting high on the transport. Easy to turn over???
What's 5' tween friends, quite a few less trips around the fields when you have something to harvest 😪 🇺🇸
Well, my Maximizer’s wouldn’t pick up either one. I’m thinking either of those are pretty much for class 10 machines.
They are big headers.
Just found your channel love your videos
Why have a grain cart if you are going to stop to unload?
Weighing the grain on the cart. Need to stop to pee sometime too.
WHAT THE WEIGHT DIFFER BETWEEN THE 50 AND 45 THANKS
At 14:00 showing the bins. You have the 4 leftside bins with patched-in sections. Is that due to green crops going mouldy or some other reason?
Old bins we moved on to hoppers and added a ring and closed in the door. They were flat bottoms on concrete.
Thanks guys
Awsome video thank you
do they make a header for my JD lawn mower, I want one now
Sorry your yields aren't higher. You did your job, just a lack of rainfall and excessive heat! Next year.
Surely that header isn't going up to visit the Buds?
What happens to the grasshoppers? Are you penalised for having too many?
Depends.. most float on top of the grain and jump off.
@@hughstephenson2957 As the peas are put in large bins, surely some die in the bin. I'm not a farmer and don't know. Do these dead grasshoppers cause pea storage problems?
Nice video! I fired up the old 715 and turns out I have a yellow jacket head. Sprayed the heck out of the buggers!
Hey Tony you need to tell Colin to get some more weight on
Will you demo a new macdon FD2
There aren’t any available right now I was told.
What are grass hoppers worth per bushel? Lol
They're actually high in protein when being fed. But "meat meal" is getting phased out these days
Probably more than cows at this point!!!
wouldn't it be funny if that header was on its way thru the USA to someone over there further away and was stoping at the TH-cam PEEPS for an hour or 2 to TEST and STICKER it before it ends up at someones place, over there,,,, on the other side of the ... trip?? 何と言う作物を収穫していますか?
You thought he'd never leave....
Hey Tony do you plan any winter wheat
Winter wheat will have to establish over the rest of growing season, needing rain. To seed winter wheat now would be costly since ground is dry. It would shake an air seeder to pieces and burn of points.
Short crops have long tails.

Hi
Does this header work in soybeans ?
Yes. They make a soybean model with out the gage wheels.
Can't wait to see it in 80 bushel beans.
@@FastAgMontana Does that soybean model work with small grains too then or not? Or are the gauge wheels the removable option to convert to small grains?
Mike got 60 ft. Why not you?
That was a prototype
Mike is a neighbor with lots of suck. He gets the prototype.
