Hi Mike, HB has a larger bearing available for the pitman arms. We have used larger gauge wheels for years, just make sure you have the correct mounting arm, as they can hit the frame. And make sure you don’t reverse or turn too sharp with the large gauge wheels, you will snap the king pins! Drive hub bearings is an issue and 100% they should not fail that quickly. Hey mike, we take our header front off (we call it that in Australia) and use ‘comb trailers’ or header wagons I’ve seen over there. Yes they cost abit but blokes will tow them 1000km to go contacting north

I don't think the massive width headers work great for the type of land they farm. Even with the flex modes, it doesn't flex enough to take a full width cut when in not flat terrain.
Mike, with those handles for the winding the wheel up and down for flex or rigid mode. Why not whip the handle off, weld on a big nut. Then use a cordless impact gun to spin the bugger down. Less knuckle bashing 👍🏻
That was my first thought when he showed it. Same with those depth wheels. Since the fabricator is in the area, let them put the wheels on the place you want them or do it yourself. Make it fit your operation.
I just wish honey bee could get the center augar to feed better that’s my only complaint about them. Macdon makes a good header but there harder to work on and seem to require more maintenance then honeybee

Simple fixes. Move the gage wheels out to the next bracket, install a guard for the sensor bar, and slide the reel back when in light crops using hydraulic cylinders so you can change on the go, and put bigger tires on the gauge wheels. Put simple electric motors on your gauge wheels so you can flip a switch, much like electric trailer jacks on large camping trailers, maybe actually incorporate one in place of the hand crank version.
