ALSO "It's when you get bass on the song that it comes together." Dude, I LOVE playing guitar, but bass makes it happen. I felt you when you did that little hammer lick and smiled.
I heard a high gain delay on a Starset song the other day. I couldn't tell if it was a synth or a guitar but the idea is interesting as texture. Making a riff out of it is definitely unique.
Your voice memos are very much like my own. Also had to call my voicemail back in the day to archive ideas until I could get to my guitar once upon a time.
I love your watching your process turn into something awesome every time. I would love to understand a little more how you transition from one idea to another and build a whole song.. My understanding of theory is meh so I can build one section but after that I am stuck... So I am always inspired watching you build.
TRT is the highlight of my week and I’m always excited when I get home from work to sit down and watch the newest one, hope you know how inspiring and fun your videos are ❤
I love your videos man. It's like the exact thing I want to do if I was on TH-cam. Like to me seeing the process is more fun then hearing the final result !!!
I'd love to see a thorough walkthrough of your guitar recording setup! I have all the pieces, but something's not right and my tones don't come out very clean at all! Would love to see how you do it!
awesome video! this series is the best part of my thursdays! would love a video about what you do for post processing (eq, compressors, ssl mix racks etc.) and also a more detailed video of how you make presets in archetype tim henson and more recently archetype mateus asato. the guitar nerd in me always loves hearing the thought process that goes behind mic choices, certain eq moves, and pedal choices
Might need some more lighting in that room! The old place was very aesthetic with the natural light. Regardless, its not about the environment. Banger tune!
XD where is the John Petrucci Plugin if you are such a fan? I wonder what you get when you use the effects on Tim Henson as "a wet channel" and the Mesa Boogie as a "dry channel". Especially the Harmonizer paired with chuggy riffing.
So, when you said 80's vibes, all I could imagine is changing the bassline up to straight 8th notes instead of syncing with the kick in the second riff and it would sound like post-roth Van Halen-ish. Then like you can add a third section right after that might go into C Major riffage and now I'm getting carried away.
My Niiiiib, as a Dream Theater fanboy i also feel you, i used to have the entire studio discography on my phone, that took me more than 2GB from my SD card hahah... I'm surprised that you didn't played the intro from Pull me Under with that clean tone "Images" haha Today is Groovy Riff Thurdaaaayyy!!!
Loving the vibes, man. I think the Tim Henson lead sounded better, though. And gave the tone someplace to go if you need to go heavier later in the tune. But great stuff!
If I may ask, what's your computer setup? OBS is buggy, but there are small things in a PC setup that can hurt you more than you expect. Especially recording in OBS and a DAW.
This series is solid gold, man. Humanizes the process of making banger tunes and makes it feel possible.
Very well said. I totally agree. I love seeing the process, and that it’s not always easy. Well maybe still easier for him than me, but ya know lol
You literally inspire me to practice my playing and my production skills! Sick things always from your channel!
Amazing to hear!! Thank you so much! 🙏
Your lead playing reminds me of plini, It sounds really really vibey and great
loving this tune and the guitar tones, well played
Thank you!
I'm feeling more of I Built The Sky and David Maxim Micic vibes. It sounds so good
ALSO "It's when you get bass on the song that it comes together." Dude, I LOVE playing guitar, but bass makes it happen. I felt you when you did that little hammer lick and smiled.
The finished product reminds me of "Thanks Nobuo" off of Periphery V. Either way awesome Thick Riff Thursday as usual Nick!
Underrated song
Love the vibes, reminded me of Periphery a bit, also congrats on the new space!
i wanna see ur take on a swancore inspired thick riff thursday!! (bands like dgd, hail the sun, royal coda)
My wife got me a chair like that for my studio for Christmas last year. Absolute game changer.
I grew up on Van Halen and that 3:00 tone and riff gave me some stronggg 90s Van Halen vibes
I heard a high gain delay on a Starset song the other day. I couldn't tell if it was a synth or a guitar but the idea is interesting as texture. Making a riff out of it is definitely unique.
Can't believe this was 7 months ago, feels like yesterday this episode came out
Absolutely incredible, my guy
Ain't talking bout love uses the delay as a part of the riff!
Happy Friday Eve, lets hear those thicc riffs
That lead was MONEY
I wanna grow up to be just like Nick Broomhall 🥸
Absolutely love these videos man

Your voice memos are very much like my own. Also had to call my voicemail back in the day to archive ideas until I could get to my guitar once upon a time.

TRT is the highlight of my week and I’m always excited when I get home from work to sit down and watch the newest one, hope you know how inspiring and fun your videos are ❤

Wait wait wait wait… so what IS your favorite Dream Theater Album?
Cool to see you’re a shadows fall fan.
POD - Rock the Party uses delay as a main part of the riff 😊
Great video dude. That lead is so catchy

Thanks! Tutorial Tuesday ideas 🤔📝
Dude is getting sponsored by Neural DSP... I'd be pretty comfortable saying you made it dude..
Might need some more lighting in that room! The old place was very aesthetic with the natural light. Regardless, its not about the environment. Banger tune!
When you nailed the riff at 12:56 (stankface)
what was the name of the guthrie lick?
Ahhh I love this
You fool. Today was the day to cover September by EWF.
Sounds sick!!!
Sounding like a David Maxim Micic groove! Looks like you need a couple of extra batteries for that camera as well haha
brother what chair did you get? lol
XD where is the John Petrucci Plugin if you are such a fan?
I wonder what you get when you use the effects on Tim Henson as "a wet channel" and the Mesa Boogie as a "dry channel". Especially the Harmonizer paired with chuggy riffing.
i love you
Did I hear Redemption by Shadows Fall in there?
You absolutely did
Thought I was the only one who caught that! 😂
What’s your favorite Dream Theater album? Mine is probably Train of Thought
Great video man, love the new studio 👍

Sounds like Tim went with Dream Theater and did a song together.
Bro drop the chair link already 😂
I don’t know what camera you’re using, but you should look into getting a dummy battery. Love to see the writing process, can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks! Yeah, I definitely plan to get a dummy battery!
What is the chair? Looks ideal for a guitarist.
Where'd you get the chair?
My Niiiiib, as a Dream Theater fanboy i also feel you, i used to have the entire studio discography on my phone, that took me more than 2GB from my SD card hahah...
I'm surprised that you didn't played the intro from Pull me Under with that clean tone "Images" haha
Today is Groovy Riff Thurdaaaayyy!!!
Hahah thanks Cauã! I probably would have if I was in a standard tuning 😂
those some jim dunlop stubby 3.0mm?
love those damn picks so much
They're the Petruccis!
@nickbroomhallmusic those are sick I gotta check em out. I've been using 3.0mm stubbys for a while now
Loving the vibes, man. I think the Tim Henson lead sounded better, though. And gave the tone someplace to go if you need to go heavier later in the tune. But great stuff!
Amazing video
Bruh this is Plini or Aaron marshall from intervals, i hope youve had the pleasure of listening to them
Could you upload those Henson presets? They sound amazing! 🤘🔥
Buy a 2nd camera or battery bro! 😂 do we need to do a GoFundMe? Love this series dude!
Hahah thanks so much! I plan to just get a dummy battery for it that plugs straight into a power outlet!
If you like Dreamtheatre check out symphony x

ok funny you have the same waterbottle as me the brown one XD
Hey Nick love your videos and that kiesel guitar, could u tell me the specs of the guitar
4:25 Shadows Fall ? 🤘🏻
Do you ever use 2 different plugins at the same time to get a super unique sound?
some octaves on the riffy part would sound good too, its crazy how fast you come up with catchy riffs
Can you put out tabs?
Some mixing types or presets pls! ty
Sounds like a solid first track on a new ep 🤔
If I may ask, what's your computer setup? OBS is buggy, but there are small things in a PC setup that can hurt you more than you expect. Especially recording in OBS and a DAW.
I'v been meaning to ask you. But what table do you use? ^^
Awesome playing dude! The tones are clean!!
do you use effects pedals??
Is it POD this reminds me of?
You got a video on your mastering chain?
Not yet! I'll cover it in a Q&A vid soon!
What chair do you have

Hey man, what studio monitors/speakers do you use?
I'm using Yamaha HS7s!
Thank you!@@nickbroomhallmusic
Wtf chair is that
bass line would be better if it wasn't all staccato in the first bit.
