      thanks Joey, i got into your vids way back, thanks to you i now have a 10x3x3 perspex tank filled with frontosa zaire that are breeding like mad and beleive or not offering me a modest income that not only supports the tanks day to day energy and upkeep but also some beer and smoke to enjoy the tank with :-D, problem is every time i watch your vids i think to myself "man i could do that, im gana do that" which results in a few days of argueing and haggling with my girlfriend over space lol. anyway i digress point being i could of never have afforded the set up i have now with its DIY filter, lights, tank its self without your awsome advice, it would be simply be behond me financially. any way now off too bicker with girlfriend over putting another huge tank in the garage :-D big shout from UK

    I am extremely impressed by how much effort, time, and simply resources in general , that you put into your hobby/passion. I especially admire your process of how you go about executing your plans. Even though I'm just getting into the aquarium hobby and not experimenting much with diy projects, if i had money to spare, i would definitely show some support and buy your book man! You should create a new channel for DIY backyard gardening/hydroponic projects.

You should make the back ground off that tank, looking like a tree with its roots. Mangrive tree look alike. Keep it going!

    you might be able to incorporate plants outside of the tanks i.e. behind the back or side panels, only if you have an excess of light, I'm not suggesting using more lights, the humidity would also be good for them. this allows for a bit more nature without dirtying the water

    I would have been tempted to diamond the tank. Caddy corner the far sides at each wall, bringing the tank half way into the room. If that is too much, keep it straight, but bring half the tank in the room.

      Some videos take a day, some take a week.. some take months. The hardest part is trying to squeeze 6 months into 8 minutes. This one was pretty easy though. Its actually a video i wasnt even going to do, but i had enough footage to turn it into a video that i did it anyways. I have SO many big projects not yet on film because i get excited to move onto something else and forget all about it. lol

    That looks awesome built into the wall.
    All I can think for the room is to sort out your chroma lighting, you have been looking green around the gills of late, pun intended. Im not sure if its green reflected of the side walls, coming from behind or both. Maybe a couple of side fill lights or paint the side walls dark. I can't hear an echo problem, but if you have one, kill 2 birds with one stone and acoustic the side walls with something dark.
    You could have just lived in the garage though ;P. Thanks for the uploads.
    BTW, does water in the tanks absorb sound to any degree?

    • @thekingofdiy
      @thekingofdiy  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Water does not absorb sound/dampen it very well, no.
      Im actually color blind, so i have a very hard time telling the difference in a lot of colors. Especially red, green and blue. So what looks totally normal to me, obviously has a green hue to you. I honestly do not see the green you are talking about.

    • @UberAlphaSirus
      @UberAlphaSirus 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is there, it isn't ridiculously bad thou. Not being funny but red , green and blue kinda covers the whole colour spectrum as far as a computer monitor goes. Maybe do a render and replace the chroma with a colour you can see the best, it should show up.
      Thinking on it, black should really show up,

    Did I understand you correctly at 4:10? Did you say you fed your filter media pure ammonia?
    That might be an interesting video.

    I love that room! You did an amazing job. I CAN'T have my tank's in a room where I work though. Nothing gets done. I blame the fish.

    Joey... I envy your youth, stamina, enthusiasm and determination to get your ambitions brought to fruition, on a budget! Compulsive viewing! I can only imagine you're so tired at the end of a day given your many other daily commitments that you sleep like a log! LOL! Well done... Updates greatly appreciated.

    Your studio looks awesome!! I would miss the 3 sided view of the 540 tank. The level that you are taking your channel to is off the chart. With that said, I think that your room is missing is a big brass Star on your door with your name on it. Thumb up #diyfishkeeper !!

      i actually never ended up looking into it from the sides, or even from above. So the original idea of being able to do that was never useful for me at all.
