You should leave enough time when buying train tickets, because Chinese trains are very punctual, as you know, trains wait for no one! You can't apply the often delayed European train mentality to Chinese trains.
You definitely talk too much and screech like a chick.... less talk and more thought... and you wouldn't have missed that train and been prepared about the payment situation.
5:37 You are at Hong Kong immigration checkpoint, not security checkpoint. 7:14 You are at Chinese immigration checkpoint ,not Hong Kong immigration checkpoint.
Thank you for this very informative video about the high speed rail service between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. 😃 My family and I are planning on using this in the coming September, and I have shared this video with them. I am also looking forward to visiting Shenzhen. Greetings from Thailand 🇹🇭
Chinese train tickets are e-tickets, which are linked to your passport information. You need to show your passport when entering and exiting the station instead of your ticket.
Basically the moment you set foot in Hong Kong you have set foot in China and China welcomes you. It's a pity that you didn't have enough China travel tips. You only need to prepare an Alipay (Hong Kong version and mainland version can be), real-name authentication binding your credit card, Alipay can help you quickly solve most of the payment problems, such as the Shenzhen Metro, you do not need to buy physical metro card, with Alipay's e-metro card will do. Of course, it is still recommended to prepare some cash on the body, just in case of emergency.😁
i quickly searched Shenzhen North railway station where you got off, and there are two atms available within 150meter radius. But they are in the shopping malls outside the train station. Ordinary people rarely use cash, so they probably wont know either. Tip might be that you always have to go to a mall or a bank to search for ATMs. Hope that you enjoy your stay in China.
@@oliverdadema Hong Kong is just a special region of China, because it was once returned after being colonized by the United Kingdom, not a country, no matter how many people oppose it. This is the fact that it belongs to China's territory.

Honestly, most of the time using the high speed train to go to Shenzhen doesn't make sense - the trip is so short that you hardly save any time, and the HK section of the line is a "higher speed" (I.E. 200km/h) line rather than full HSR. Just get the MTR to Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau and then take the metro since most of the time it's just as quick. Where the HSR does make sense is if you are going to some place further down the line, like Guangzhou since then you are only speed-restricted for a small part of the route.
Super helpful video thank you! Wow the suspense. It was like watching a suspenseful drama cinema. Love films with a handsome man playing the lead role.
Free of cost is only free for trains to Shenzhen. It's also because it's your first time. Next time you know that to leave earlier too. But for Chinese and people from Hong Kong, it is faster for them. For foreigners, they usually take so much time to get through customs.
In fact, HK and Shenzhen citizens rarely take the so-called high speed train to travel between these 2 cities. It is NOT a high speed train (less than 200km/h). And the security and immigration take so much time than other ports. Moreover, the time we take from home to West Kowloon Station maybe the same as the time to other Shenzhen land ports (depends on which place you live in HK).
I laughed so loud when you are questioning about where the ATM machine is😅 Anyway, welcome to ShenZhen, wish you will have a good time after the ATM thing😂
When taking high speed train from HK to China, you have to go through 2 immigration and custom controls, Hong Kong and China. You're leaving HK and entering China at the same station. That can take lots of time depending on how many people are in line. Therefore, give yourself a lot of time so you don't miss your train.

If you travel from Amsterdam to the Netherlands Antilles in the Carribbean you're still in the the Netherlands. I dont know why from Hong Kong to Shenzhen you seem to think you're traveling to a different country.
