I notice that people mention cameras everywhere but thats the same in the West today. I hope you have an awesome time in Shenzhen and watch you dont get fat with all that delicious food everywhere.
I suggest you to go to Lian Hua Shan park, where there is a little hill in it. On top of the hill, it gives you probably the best panoramic view of the entire CBD area of Futian District. The view is absolutely fantastic!
Shenzhen has a population of 18 million and an area of 2000 square kilometers. This is a very big city. All major cities in China occupy a large area. Regarding cameras, cameras are used in China to prevent crime and collect evidence of crimes. As long as there is no criminal intent, there is no need to worry too much. As for the police, in fact 80% are not police officers, but more security guards. They may be employed by companies or governments. In some places with a large amount of people or traffic, such as some scenic spots or road intersections, it is easier to see security guards. The uniforms and equipment of the police will be more formal, and they will only be responsible for criminal cases. Security guards are not allowed to carry firearms, and police officers are generally not allowed to carry firearms, except for a very small number of police officers responsible for dangerous tasks (such as anti-narcotics police).
Welcome to China. I highly recommend you visit Chongqing, Yunnan & Xinjiang. China is very large and diversified, modern and urban is just one side of it. Have fun ❤️
One Tip: In every tower, shopping mall, office building, there is at least one floor for food. Sometimes it is underground. People, who work in those building or travelling in those areas, need to eat, too. It is simple logic.
You see all those 'delivery scooters' because online shopping is a huge business in China. Almost everything you need/want can be ordered online at very affordable prices!
There several CBD in Shenzhen and Futian Centre where u were in is just one of them. I would recommend u seeking Shenzhen Bay CBD with Talent Park just besides sea. U will not be disappointed!
I reckon the vegetable you ate was not asparagus. It would be "choy sim". Here is a small challenge for you. How do you pick a Hongkong Chinese (who crossed the border like you did) among other Shenzhen locals?
The whole camera thing is just distortion from the western media. Just imagine how much human power could possibly involve in monitoring every footage in real time. Even with AI, the amount of computing power to recognize every single ppl and track their whereabouts is unachievable currently ( aren’t the computing power and electricity the problem here in the U.S. ? ) Lots of “journalists” might just watch too much SI-FI.🤷🏻♂️ They use the camera the same way as in the West. I am not blaming you point that out, and I know where you are coming from. it just gets annoying seeing the “surveillance state” narrative become how westerns perceive China nowadays.
Give the guy a break first time in China... He will have years and years of MSM telling him what China is like. Vs What he is seeing in reality I sure for a lot of Chinese who come west. They hear about the freedoms and great education over here. Then the reality sets in

You've overlooked the service provided by delivery robots. Once you become familiar with this service, you'll be as amazed as most tourists visiting China! Additionally, there are charging options available everywhere in China, so there's no need to buy a power bank. Try exploring this service, and you'll find it very convenient.

15:28 this is called Choy sum in Cantonese, or cai xin in Mandarin 菜心. The delivery service is called Meituan 美團。We also have Meituan here in Los Angeles which has a huge Chinese population.

Thanks for that info!! And thanks for watching 🤩🙏🏼🇨🇳
highly recommend you to visit Chengdu & Chongqing, foods are amazing there
That's Ping An Financial Ctr, the tallest building in SZ, and 2nd tallest in China. You didn't need to walk around so much to find the restaurants, they're right there next to the station that you got off underneath Ping An.
It's not asparagus, it's called Choi Sum, the most common vege in southern China. 🤫
Your feeling will be very different from other countries around the world. Welcome to China and have a good journey unforgettably!
Thank you so much! 🇨🇳🙏🏼🤩
Depends on the type of restaurants, it is standard they bring you tea for having meals even if you don't want it, it is part of the culture. They bring it to you as soon you sit down, but you can always ask for something else to drink for a fee of course.
Tea often comes with a very small fee when they bring you a jug like that and often can be refill.
Is interesting to see this because it comes natural to the Chinese we never thought about it. Also know that China has no tipping culture, you pay for what you ordered, no need for tips.
7:18 With a height of 599.1 meters, Shenzhen Ping An Financial Center is currently ranked fourth in the world, second in China, and one of the landmark buildings in Shenzhen, welcome to our city and enjoy yourself 🎉🎉🎉
因为在美国生活,但是每年回国都会发现中国的发展和进步,即使每次回去也花时间旅游,依然只是走过不到十分之一😂祝你旅途愉快
Thank you and thanks for watching 🙏🏼🤩🇨🇳
This asparagus stuff you said is actually a green vegetable called “Choi sum” in cantonese.
It REALLY tastes like Asparagus 😂🇨🇳
6:47 ping an finance centre.tallest office tower in the world,5th tallest building in the world
Wow!!! It indeed was sooo tall 😱
haha. the “Zhongshan park" Metro station is very close to my home and Futian CBD Metro station is very close to my office. actually there are lots of foods ( >100 restaurants) inside of CBD metro station, they are underground, you just walk on them.
Oh really?? You live on a great location!! 🙏🏼😍🇨🇳
@@oliverdadema yes, I just checked the map, the Maxin hotel is only 200 meters to my home. and there is an ancient town called "Nantou ancient town" which is 100 meters to your hotel, it's full of art, street food, restaurants. you just missed it.
You are very insightful to come to Shenzhen! Welcome! Most Chinese people are very kind. I believe you will have an unforgettable trip in China! Have fun!
Great video as always! Enjoy your day good luck!
Thanks for still watching my videos, it’s good to have you here! 🙏🏼
Actually Shenzhen has multiple centers. What you see is Futian, which is the financial center. The city has more than 20 million residents and it has 212 skyscrapers higher than 200 meters, maintaining a world record.
Actually you can borrow a power bank from one of the power bank base,if you run out of power, there are literally everywhere, you can ask the staff in metro, I believe they will tell you how to borrow friendly ~
Chains people's is very nice and and Chaina is awesome place to visit guys you should also add the prices of the hotels so that the people's in overseas know where is the cheapest place to stay
Thank you for sharing this video on Shenzhen downtown. Seeing this video makes me not want to wait for my upcoming trip in September! 😃 I love the cultural and natural beauty of China, so I hit the 'Subscribe' button to see more of your upcoming videos about it.
Thanks a lot!!! You’re gonna love it there 🤩🙏🏼
A very good video. From the perspective of a Westerner who has no knowledge of China, he starts to observe and understand China. China is very big. I hope you can keep traveling. You will gain unlimited scenery and too many delicious foods. good luck!
I could have never guessed how such a big country can be so boring
13:48 the tea is free, but the café will charge a table fee based on the number of people, it's same to local person and usually take 4-6 rmb for one person.
16:56...yo amo el rosa...😎😎
Welcome to Shenzhen ❤ Oliver 🎉 actually, loads of young ppl have tattoos not a big deal at all. If you are still in Shenzhen I would like to recommend you some local restaurants.
Thank you!! Yes, you’re right! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼🤩🇨🇳
Thanks for being the bridge of friendship between China and the West❤❤
Now that it's easier and cheaper for Western people to travel to China, I am sure the friendship will only become better!! Let's hope!!! 😍
Hi, by the way it’s not asparagus that you were eating. It’s a popular Chinese green vegetable. Thank you for your video.
Apple data cable, if you buy it on internet (taobao), about 5-15 YUAN RMB.And it's certified, for export to the EU
Really? 😱😱😱😱

I notice that people mention cameras everywhere but thats the same in the West today. I hope you have an awesome time in Shenzhen and watch you dont get fat with all that delicious food everywhere.
Yes you’re right about cameras
😂😂i am chinese ,i and my Friends have tatoo 😂, and Shenzhen has lots foreigner, but they are not touriste, they work in Shenzhen
I suggest you to go to Lian Hua Shan park, where there is a little hill in it. On top of the hill, it gives you probably the best panoramic view of the entire CBD area of Futian District. The view is absolutely fantastic!
In China's big cities, many restaurants are located in underground shopping malls connected to subways. Have a good trip!
Should've used/hired one of the many rental bikes, it's inexpensive and you would've covered alot more ground
You’re right 😅 I’ll make note of that, thanks 🙏🏼🇨🇳
China was the third most visited country in the entire world back in 2019. Many people do go to China. It has a changed a little bit now, of course.
Crazyyy!! 😱 Thanks for that info and for watching 🇨🇳🙏🏼
20 million square kilometers ?
The entire China have just over 9 million square kilometers... Russia is 17 million square kilometers.
@@morganangel340 2000 square kilometers, my bad
🤣
Welcome to China. I highly recommend you visit Chongqing, Yunnan & Xinjiang. China is very large and diversified, modern and urban is just one side of it. Have fun ❤️
One Tip: In every tower, shopping mall, office building, there is at least one floor for food. Sometimes it is underground. People, who work in those building or travelling in those areas, need to eat, too. It is simple logic.
Interesting... thanks for the tip!! And for watching of course 😍😇
Shenzhen is actually quite green though.
Great video! You are doing so well on TH-cam!!! Amazing ❤
In fact, many nice cities in China. Except most often hear of Beijing/Shanghai, can also visit Shenzhen/Chengdu/Sichuan/Nanjing etc
there is an army of restaurants below the financial district called "link city" (连城广场) , you can just take the metro entrance to get there.
Thanks for that info, that’s useful!! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼🤩🇨🇳
Thank you for showing us ShenZhen. I want to go there one day❤
Thank YOU for watching, you will go there eventually! 🙏🏼🤩🇨🇳
You see all those 'delivery scooters' because online shopping is a huge business in China. Almost everything you need/want can be ordered online at very affordable prices!
Welcome to China. Everything here is crazy, safe, friendly❤
Thanks a lot 🇨🇳🙏🏼🤩
Point the camera forward more often as you walk so we can see what you are seeing as you walk or describe the view .
Great point!! I already finished my China videos, but I will keep that in mind when recording vlogs of new places in the future, thanks 🙏🏼🤩
The tallest building in Shenzhen is Ping An Tower, 115-storey, 595 m supertall skyscraper.
Bro, you can wear shorts, fashionable in Shenzhen
buddy you got check out there, dont assume these are really expensive, luckin ocffee only cost you 9.9 rmb 😅
晚上有灯光秀 非常漂亮🤩
I heard about it, I wanna see it!!! 🤩🇨🇳
Basically in a Chinese mall, the ground floor(-1) is the food court and the top two floors are proper restaurant.
来自深圳的爱,天气热多喝水
Yes, always bringing a bottle of water 🤩🙏🏼🇨🇳
There several CBD in Shenzhen and Futian Centre where u were in is just one of them. I would recommend u seeking Shenzhen Bay CBD with Talent Park just besides sea. U will not be disappointed!
In australia, when u enter and exit the train stations and metro, the cctv does a ID of you automatically.
16:18 i went to that restaurant before and it's not such a good one compared to others. So every food in China is damn fk delicious.
Hoi veel plezier in China :) Groetjes uit Amsterdam
FYI, there are power bank rental machines everywhere in China. Keep your awesome China videos coming. Love them ❤
Nice video, welcome to China
Thanks a lot!! And thanks for watching! 😍
I reckon the vegetable you ate was not asparagus. It would be "choy sim". Here is a small challenge for you. How do you pick a Hongkong Chinese (who crossed the border like you did) among other Shenzhen locals?
How crazy!! Thanks for letting me know and watching my video 🙏🏼🤩🇨🇳
Shenzhen I work here. Hope you have great time inhere
Thank you so much!! 🇨🇳🤩🙏🏼
Hope you get much more followers as soon as possible.
Let’s hope 🤩🙏🏼🇨🇳🤍
Chinese beware, unfortunately Oliver supports Taiwan separatism.
Vs
What he is seeing in reality
I sure for a lot of Chinese who come west. They hear about the freedoms and great education over here.
Then the reality sets in
You got a point! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼🤩🇨🇳
@@DW-op7ly I neither give him a hard time, nor did I criticize him. I do understand it’s his first time and there is nothing wrong with expressing his first impression.
There’s more cameras per person in the UK than in China
For your safety. UK lived through several terrorist attacks. @@deathless3518

Nice video
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼🤩
You've overlooked the service provided by delivery robots. Once you become familiar with this service, you'll be as amazed as most tourists visiting China! Additionally, there are charging options available everywhere in China, so there's no need to buy a power bank. Try exploring this service, and you'll find it very convenient.
现在来中国是好季节,荔枝上市了
Have a good trip in China.😄
Thank you!! And thanks for watching 🇨🇳🙏🏼🤩
Come to futian or nanshan in night time, then you will be surprise what you had seen. There are many bars in Haishangshijie at Shekou, nanshan
You can watch the light show at civic center, if it happens in the weekend. We were there last year. The best light show in the world. The one in Hong Kong at Victoria harbor is nothing compared to the Shenzhen’s one.
What a funny Dutch. I am in Shenzhen and will visit Europe in September 😊
