because when someone dresses up as religious or seemingly positive attire (like nun = heaven, doll = pretty play thing) and turns it dark/evil, the juxtaposition gives you chills and ultimately scares you more than what a normal demon in demon attire would scare you, because that’s what you expect of it (to look scary).
