I fell in love with the series, Feather, Clover and El. All of your characters are so interesting an unique, I think the more sketchy lines gives it an interesting character. I love the environments and designs too!!!
I'm so happy you liked the messier lines! I wanted to experiment with a rougher style because cleaning up sketches used to rlly hurt my hands, so i'm glad it paid off! Tysm!

I think both of them would be worshipped, El as the figure of their faith, Feather as his champion and new preacher.
With no information whatsoever before watching this I can safely say that this animation is brilliant. The creator's immense talent to create engrossing characters and excellent illustrations brings this devastatingly beautiful story to life without any dialogue whatsoever.
From my own understanding from what I saw, I'd say that this world (or at least a city) is ruled by a tyrannical cult-inquisition that takes and steals children to sacrifice to ward off the 'Demon Boy'. The members of the cult wear masks that resemble aspects of the 'Demon Boy's' form as a status symbol separating them from the common people. But when Feather's sister is stolen by the cult he makes a pact with the 'Demon Boy' to destroy the cult and rescue his sister, becoming the city's new ruler in the aftermath.
This is impressive how much detail you can impart without any voice-acting at all.

I wished to also second the amazing animation, although from another comment I apparently Tought demon-boy was demon-girl,,,, whoops. Also, my thought was the cult worshiped the demon and kid just happened to summon the same one, most likely unknowingly, and it was great comedic irony as they realize their supposed 'lord' was the one about to eat them.
@@theworm2105 That's actually a really interesting argument that the cult actually worships the 'Demon Boy' instead of warding themselves against it.
I had this idea that the cult had their own god that they claimed protected them from the 'Demon Boy', but only if they sacrificed people (thought I don't know why it has to be children?) to this unknown god.
They would coerce the rest of the population into blind obediance to this god, and any resistance would be met with either a probably painful death or damnation. (like medieval church condemning witches to hell)
But actually worshipping the 'Demon Boy' itself could make sense as well. The cult could be sacrificing people to try to appease the 'Demon Boy' and hoping like hell that he wouldn't come and kill them all. That could also be why the citizens and the cult are instantly terrified the moment they see his looming shadow on the horizon..

@@waddles7775 Apparently, the big demonic dog thing is another form of the demon boy. So the cult worships a demon and when Feather's sister is taken and killed he tries to summon another demon, accidentally (?) summons the demon that the cult worships (which he recognizes and gives the rude finger to, as he's the cause of all this) and the demon agrees to destroy the cult worshipping him for lols

I also thought about it (to the detriment of my social life offline) and also considered that all the demons summoned by the cult were the same demon in different forms, but the demon was forced to remain in a transformed state because of the method the cult used for summoning.
I had the theory that all the different forms the demon had came from different techniques and methods developed by the cult that aligned with their own religious beliefs, or were insidiously designed by the cult as to make the demon as scary as possible in order to frighten the normal civilian population into submission.
After so long like this, the cult begins to sacrifice it's citizens in public to keep up appearances that it is struggling to contain the demon, to make the population more on edge and easier to control. But then, because the cult no longer uses its old techniques and has cast aside it's secrecy and is more careless, the demon briefly escapes as a spirit in the form of the 'Demon Boy'.
The demon makes contact with Feather and makes a pact with him to save his sister in exchange for something we don't see (probably his soul?). But the demon, despite acting like it is arrogant and playful, is actually quite desperate and emotionally strung, and needs Feather as a sort of 'conduit' in order to break free.
Feather acquiesces, takes the pact, and the demon takes revenge on the cult.
I think that wraps it up nicely, don't you think?

HOLY SHIT THIS GOES *SO* HARD. I’ve always loved this song so I was very excited when I saw you’d made an animatic for it, but this is really the first time I’ve ever seen one capture the vibe of fury and spite the song has! Even better: the anger is because of love, which is always the vibe the song gives me. And this guy makes a deal with an entity AND becomes friends with them! What more could anyone ask for?! This is amazing and I can’t thank you enough for making it.

Speaking of, El! I hate him in the best possible way lol. Like they're kind of terrible but also I love their character design so much and they just be vibing. Like they see Feather, and immediately decide, yep, they're going to make him a god for funsies. Chaotic evil bastard /pos.

I realized after a rewatch that the priest had a pair of fake wings pinned to his cloak. Probably to imitate their god's blessing, which the protagonist actually received.

I love animations for songs so much, it gives it much more emotion and emphasis on the song, as if it were telling a story, rather than just being a song. Beautiful!

Cult: sacrifice who knows how many over the span of at least a few years to a demon that never shows
Feather: casually summons said demon, makes a deal, gets a cool set of wings, destroys cult, revives sister, becomes a figure of worship, gets a demon servant, all in the span of a few hours at most, and all for free… probably.
Well, in the lore, it says the cult was afraid of El (for some reason, we don’t really get any explanation as to why I don’t think), and sacrificed people to him to appease(?) him.
Also, it wasn’t for free, Feather became immortal and gave his soul to El.
This is probably as "fallen angel" as it gets, one of the most iconic demonic creature styles I have ever seen. Definitely at top three. Don't know the whole setting behind this; but judging from what I have seen so far, it seems gorgeous. The "sunset and autumn" feeling here I get manages to be fitting and refreshing at the same time... Yeah, I think I can fit in a few more compliments, but all in all, I'm loving the stuff. Nicely done :D

There’s a poor kid who lives in town controlled by cultists who pray to a demon. This kid aka feather has a sister who is take by the cult as a sacrifice. The video starts off with this premise and shows how the cultists take his sister. At this point he is weak and he knows it so he goes away after promising to get revenge. Feather then summons a demon named El to give him power so he can kill the cultists. In return he‘ll be a loyal servant of El. At the same time his sister is sacrificed. He receives wings and feathers from the hence the name feather. The boy then returns to town and starts attacking the cultists base. Burning everything in his wake. He kills the head cultist and takes down the whole cult. After this he goes to his dead sister and using the powers imparted upon him from El to revive her. All the townsfolk who had also been harassed by the cult saw this happen and thought he was an angel because he had wings, saved them from the cultists and resurrected someone. They then pray to him worshiping him as the new protector of the town. He then takes over and becomes the ruler making the land prosperous once again
That’s just for this video… SO MUCH STORY. I love story’s like this and I support you 100%. I hope you continue to make such great, awesome and interesting videos
This is (least personally) the best video you’ve made yet. I really like the storytelling and the way you show it. You just have perfect timing. I watched allot of oc animatics and yours is 2. animation wise (right behind viziepop) and 1. story and how it’s shown. I don't know who this person is but I recently went through the entire series and oh my god did I get the feels! the way it makes a perfectly understandable story that is so depressing yet happy is amazing. this is just under 4 mins and it's better than some movies that had millions of dollars put into them. Bravo Haven, Bravo.
