4 years ago I knew NOTHING about birds, I never had any kind of bird, only cats, dogs and rodents in general. 4 years ago I found out about BirdTricks and since then I watched a lot of videos, went through a lot of training courses, got myself two kakarikis, one red-rumped parakeet and one plumheaded parakeet. I just nailed this video and it's crazy seeing how much I learnt from you guys. Thank you so much for everything you do!
Just a shout out to my sweet Amazon boy, who has learned to teach me gently what he needs. We went through four years of lunging to protect his boundaries and some really ouchy bites, but now we totally get each other. And to our vet, who taught me "aggressive" usually means "respect my boundaries, you scary big predator!" Now he knows that if I get it wrong, a *gentle* bite and redirect will work. I'm beyond grateful that we can communicate so well. Please keep these coming! Amazons are communication stars with their crazy eye pinning. Once I got my sweet babes language down, we learned to give each other what we need. But we can always, always, always learn more.
My problem is that even when my cockatiel is angry I still find him adorable, he looks like a naughty plushy with that "I'll cut you" look on his face 😭
I would LOVE if you did more, especially with things like anger/discomfort/fear/sickness etc. I‘ve been planning to get a parrot for almost a decade, and despite all the research I‘m still worried I‘m not ready cause I wouldn‘t be able to tell whether my bird is stressed out or needs help 😭 And it‘d be lovely to see some smaller species like budgies, lovebirds, cockatiels and ringnecks
i would absolutely love more of this type of content, specifically on timneh greys (not sure if that differs from congos) ive been trying to train my parents timneh grey and i'd love to be able to understand him better but i struggle with bird communication quite a bit. i probably got like 40-50% of these examples right but i'd love to see more it was very fun :)
im very pleased with myself as i got them all right! ive just recently gotten into birds and have had my first 2 budgies for almost 3 years now! the flock has grown since then just budgies and 1 green cheeked conure, but my sister and i love our birds so much and have done so much research at this point! and your videos have really helped us a lot in learning about them in the very beginning! so I think its safe to say ive learned a lot since i aced the video! my birds will be pleased
i wasn't doing too well then seeing the conure and getting that right away made me feel a bit better. I'd love to see more videos like this! Very educational. Maybe watch some videos on birds and dissect that, though - would be useful for heightened good vs bad comparisons!
Loving it! I missed a few on the baby large parrots but the others are fine! I was also hoping to see more of smaller parrots like conures and even budgies!
Awesomely helpful video! Behaviour based pics & videos are such valuable learning tools…especially for those relatively new to birds (like my family). I’d love to see some Indian Ringneck behaviour featured. I find them more challenging to ‘read’ as they aren’t always so obvious with their feathers…at least our guy isn’t. He’s a bit more stoic. 😂
Watching n learning from Holland🇳🇱... Love all of ur videos especially with ekkies innit🦜! Keep up the good work. Greetings from J & Mango (my eclectus)
my cag cant sleep like cressi. He is deformed with a crook neck so he just sleeps with his head down to one side. thats why i give him extra head an nech scratches as this is the only time he rests his beak on the surface taking the weight off his neck. any parrot sleeping is still cute though
Great video! Lots of learning content. It always makes me concerned when peoole react to and encourage heightened behavior as 'cute' - dangerous for the bird and anyone around them. A lot also depends on the bird and their personalities, and the interaction with their humans. Have you ever had to help people with integrating a bird/birds into a existing multi-pet household? Figuring out boundaries and behaviors based on species?
I recently stumbled onto your channel. I have zero bird experience and am enjoying learning stuff so I might have a clue should I encounter somebody's bird. My wife is terrified of birds on the wing so no pets in my future. Thanks.

This was super fun!! Great idea!
really in need of this video for my plucking IRN
Definitely more. For a non-bird-owner, I did a lot better than I expected to.
Another GREAT video, particularly for someone like me who knows next to nothing about birds.
Love this! More content like this :)

What a great idea!…yes…please do more…African Grey aggression pics…😂

Nice work. Yes, would love to see more! Do small birds next!
i love this so much please do another one
A "What happened next" video would be super cool too.
What a cool video! Definitely do another one. Could you make the next one more difficult for parrot owners/companions? This one seemed too easy, imo!
More videos like this and parrot behaviour in general, like diving in etology or the science of bird behaviour. 🍀
Heighten, Amazon, weather, friendly or upset also different African gray body languages

Thank you
Please do eclectus parrots please!
I would like to see some Cockatiel body language 🙂
That was fun! I wouldn’t mind more space/time for us to guess before you share the answer.

For me I would love on Amazon and Eclectus (do female Eclectus have another"speech" than male) . ❤❤❤

How can you tell the sex of your bird and the age of your bird
still images don't seem that helpful
