Fondest memory was on the huge barnyard map. Patty spawns on the other side of the level giving my friend and I enough time to weld every single door only for him to walk up and make a precise rocket shot through an isolated window killing both of us in a single second. We knew we would die but we didn’t know we would get fucking decimated in the process with all doors still intact
One thing I love about this musics placement in the game is that there is no seperate victory theme, when you kill the Patriarch you effectively usurp this theme song and it becomes the theme for the party. You really feel the effect if you win around 2:29
Would be sick. Imagine a killing floor like multiplayer gamemode where you play a bunch of left behind UAC soldiers fighting for their life on demon-controlled earth
*Final round starts* Rookie player: So this is the round where the Patriarch hunts us? *Abandon all starts playing* Veteran player: No, this is the round where we hunt him.
3:02 If you're in a Patriarch battle, and you heard that solo, it's because you done fucked up and the last thing you'll see is: "Your squad was _WIPED OUT_ "
Gotta love how Patriarch boss fight in the first one goes either: 1.- He dies to stock of pipe bombs 2.- He somehow survives it and he gets to heal once, therefore, you know you are more than likely fucked.
Sharpshooter/Support + Golden Shotguns are pretty broken though. Even though KF2 is better in almost every single way, this theme far outmatches what KF2 delivers.
Plays the whole round as a Berserker. "Better stack up, something big is coming, I'm leaving" WELP time to sell everything! "Buys pipe bombs and auto shotgun" Once the boss comes it's basically over and no matter what perk you have, just buy the same op combo and it's gg. Otherwise in KF2 just get a chainsaw launcher and remember it has more than just launching saw blades and you're solid.
"EXCELLENT, ANOTHER BATCH OF TEST SUBJECTS" "STAY RIGHT THERE, I'LL MAKE THIS QUICK" "WHAT YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" "HELP ME MY CHILDREN, SHOW THEM HOW MUCH YOU LOVE ME" "ONE IN THE PIPE"
Ain't some thrown up boss like in ordinary games nowdays, the Patriarch is a betch that requires the whole team to put down! ...Unless you lead him into a hallway with like 9 pipe bombs in it...
Whateverguy And a level 6 Demo who put them down with a LAW and a Sharp shooter with a M99 ready to blow your head off then yeah he's a bitch to deal with.
I tried that once. He spawned before we got done and fired his minigun down the hall. The blast from all the pipe bombs we placed wiped half the team and crippled the other half
I love how the song starts, it's like something big is coming over the horizon as the sky slowly turns red. You can run, but they'll find you before dawn.
This is so much better than Patriarch's theme in KF2.. The slow start with progression indicates that something dangerous is comming, then it evolves into a badass battle song.. perfection.
+DevilBlackDeath Nevermind, just watched that same video again and Zack from Destructoid specifically said "this song sin't abandon all" in the game chat :'(
The moment when I first won a hell on earth game for my team. I was a firebug, and he killed all the others. Fortunately, I had my double flare revolvers and the husk fireball launcher. The moment when he died, and my teammates were cheering for me, was invaluable.
im sad to hear that there wont be at least a re-worked version of this in KF2. for everyone with Left 4 Dead 2, make this your Tank theme, its very effective the drum beat at 3:20 is the greatest thing ever, fuck if that doesnt amp me to some great extremes whenever i hear that
KF3, BABY! Hopefully they make the Patriarch theme in the game to be more like 1 instead of what we have for 2 but hey, I’m just excited that KF3 finally got announced
@@TheChaoslord66 Is it because it's more Distorted? KF2 tried to be a little more futuristic perhaps. True fans would be nostalgic of this but also happy that they even brought it back at all they didn't have to they could have given Patty a whole new theme.
@@Fire_Heart00 it's completely weak - in my opinion, Patriarch's theme must be better and more pressing than we have in KF2. Impending Doom - Murderer, for example, sounds MUCH MORE nervous.
interesting how this is a metal track yet they throw in a disco style groove with the drums at 3:20, really gives the track a bounce and push to it that works so well with the heavy distorted guitars
I still feel this single song is better than both the current KF2 boss songs everytime I hear the initial guitar rift, all I think is *shit is real now*
As I write this, my D&D group is playing Storm King's Thunder, 5e D&D, and are on the final optional boss fight where we take on the ancient blue dragon that's so badass she has her own listing in the Forgotten Realms lore. This is the music of choice as my goblin wizard is the only one to succeed a fear save to paralyze the whole party.
Anyone else remember the days where your team could surround the pat and just start hacking away with machetes without getting wrecked by that devastating spin attack? Also did anyone ever have a game where it was nothing but a pipe hat suicide squad? Fun fucking times were had and made.
