- Paul’s American Girl Collection with Kathy Leppert | Paul has been scouring flea markets and garage sales to amass a collection of over 100 American Girl dolls. He has a lot to learn, and luckily, Kathy Leppert is on hand to chat with Paul about his collection. It’s a fun show-and-tell type video!

So have to tell Paul and Kathy my history with American girl: my Daughter was born in 1985. I use to pour over country living magazine and colonial homes etc. ( before internet). In the back, there was a small advertisement for pleasant co. Dolls. I sent in my post card and received a catalog big as life with Samantha, Kirsten, and Molly.
Turned out later my daughter preffered Barbie and I ended up the obsessed Pleasant co/ American girl lover and collector. I showed my older sister a catalog in 1995, and her massive collection of dolls and accessories including furniture is beautiful. She has never sold 1 thing. Her scenes every season are stunning. Love your collections. I may start making videos and join the fun!

Wow, Paul! What a great collection! I have found several at yard sales over the years....2 of which belong to my granddaughter. I work at the AZ Doll and Toy Museum and a wonderful collection including a white body Pleasant Company Samantha with complete outfits, furniture, books and accessories of that time period was donated. I wish I could show you a picture of the display I had fun creating.

Why am I not a big a fan American Girl dolls when I find Chatty Cathy so charming? They share a relationship. When I say AG is not a favorite let me say that the concept is incredible. I live in Los Angeles where we have a giant 3 story store for the American Girls! (Once LA FAO Schwartz) The ingenious expensive props and accessories for the dolls are out of this world. Big thumbs up to Paul and everyone associated with American Girl. I do like the Nicki doll.

On my journey to the flea market looking for American Girl dolls I was lucky to find a Kirsten with the white cloth body and her original clothes for $3 and the cheapest one I've ever found was a dollar like you I love these American Girl dolls you just can't never have enough love your collection and your sister's Channel too

I love Pauls enthusiastic attitude to American Dolls, I'm not honestly into them I love all dolls and my favs ar antique. vintage, then modern, but he gets me wanting to research and collect...as if having more dolls is an option...of course it is...lol go Paul xxx
Oh gosh this is so much fun! I wish we had flea markets in Alaska!! I find alot of mine at the thrift store. I know most of the employees at the ones I go too and when I walk in they always tell me!

That's great, good for Paul ! I love the passion and enthusiasm he has for his dolls. I myself aren't into 18 inch dolls. I don't like over-sized heads and soft bodies. Although I have my eye on AG's "Kaya" and all the outfits. I just can't get past the big head and soft body hang-up enough to get the doll. Still, I love seeing what other people collect. I just love dolls!! Paul ... you go boy!! 👍 😉

So fun! Just love the passion & thrill of the hunt 😆👍🏻... I'm an Aussie & only recently purchased three AG's from American Girl. I sooo want more but our dollar & shipping is horrendous 🤦🏻♀... doubt I'd find any at our garage sales but I'm definitely going to save for Claudie ❤... and 🤔....🤔😂

Rachel, I really LOVE your Brother Paul's American Doll Collection😍😍🤩🤩💖💖💖💖💖!! And Kathy educated us on the Mini Kit Dolls that I never heard of or saw until Today😃😃👍👍!! I really LOVE history and American Dolls are so cute!! And I really LOVE the outfits that Paul gave them too😃😃💖💖💖💖💖👍👍!!!! And some advice for Paul, Tresemme Conditioner works wonders on dolls from 1970s to 2022 , for the one Doll that needs some work done on her hair. My favorites of Paul's collection are: Kit in the red dress, Niki ( I LOVE that she came with a horse), I so LOVE Felicity's green eyes and her Colonial green dress with Colonial green hat, I so LOVE the beautiful Doll in the wheelchair's dress, Carolina's hair and pink dress, Kanani's flower top, Kirsten's dress and blue eyes, Sonali's beautiful long black hair, Elizabeth in pink dress, Truly Me 16 purple sweater, CYO One of a Kind star shirt with purple pants, Julie's purple outfit, Truly Me's purple outfit, First Edition 27 in pink dress @ 13:03, and I so LOVE Kiah who is dressed in a Native American Outfit as well as she is a very pretty Doll💖💖💖💖💖!!! They are ALL beautiful Dolls💖💖💖💖💖!!! And I so LOVE the accessories like the Bed and the Bathtub with all the bubbles😃😃👍👍 Thank you Paul for sharing your totally awesome American Doll Collection💯💯😃😃👍👍💖💖💖💖💖!!! Thank you Kathy for sharing your knowledge on these American Dolls💯💯😃😃👍👍💖💖💖💖💖, and thank you Rachel for this including Paul and Kathy for Paul's beautiful American Doll Collection😃😃👍👍💯💯💖💖💖💖💖!!! What an amazing collection! I have 5 AG dolls, Molly, Kit, Kirsten Kaya and Samantha.
All are pleasant company except Samantha and she is the only one in her meet outfit.
Like you, I am dying to find an affordable white body.
I admire all the work you have done to fix them up, they look lovely!

What an incredible collection! Paul really has an eye for the rates. Kathy is amazing at identifying them. As a kid, in the ‘80s, I always wanted Samantha. Saw her in the catalog. My husband bought me Josefina. I really enjoyed this video and would subscribe to Paul’s channel if he made one and Kathy too! 💕

I learned so much about these dolls. In the 1990's I bought my oldest daughter some dolls from Walmart called Tolly tots. I have them now as she is 28. And I have some other dolls that are 18" dolls. I don't believe I have any AG dolls. They were all bought used from ebay and I wanted them to make clothing to sell. I'm wondering how many other companies are out there making 18" dolls that are the same size as AG dolls.

I just went to the very last American Girl Benefit Sale last weekend. I'm so sad.😢
Nice American girl dolls. I have some but I just couldn't collect that many. I loves to collect reborns and partial silicones from ashton drake and artists to and also full body silicones and those robotic dolls and cabbage patch dolls and other types of dolls from the store's to or the flea markets or goodwills if theirs porcelain dolls to or on line purchases to.
It sounds like you have a wonderfully diverse collection! From reborns, silicones, and robotic dolls to cabbage patch dolls and porcelain finds from various sources, your assortment must be a real treasure trove. I might have had a collection like this when the dolls were made be the Pleasant Company but when it was sold to the toy co. I lost complete interest!
