Got to give you props , I’ve talked down upon your prices and choices and ideas but I’ll give you this , you go out of your way to restore cosmeticly cars where you have no need to spend out of pocket for a car you will gain almost little to nothing on return after labor and paint restoring a car appearance, where here in cali all small dealerships just sale you trash and overprice and are falling apart so cheers man !!!!

BMW's are strippers. They look great, but you have to throw money at them all the time. It appeared most of your repairs were cosmetic. 7k is a lot for a car with a rebuilt title. I know the engine settled down when it was warm. Did the plugs fix the intermittent cylinder issue? I love the mix of toys and practical vehicles. (Sadly the Hummer didn't really fall in either of those categories.) I always look forward to your content. Please give our best to Papa Al, he's really the highlight. God bless you and your family. I owned one. Way back when. It kept dying on me quite often . I remember a recall for this issue . The fix sounded very easy. The wire connected to the main battery was installed backwards.

Vossen Wheels bro lol... Great find! I just sold my '07 black on black 650i... Only had 45,000kms on it.. I got 30 grand for it, sad to see it go but obviously couldn't pass up that price... This car aged the best out of all BMW's from that era.. it's still a head turner!

What is the interest on the $5k invested in the BMW? I really appreciate how you break down the car dealer business, and I am curious about that detail.

It's opportunity cost. If you could buy another $5K car and make say $750 and do that once a month that's $3K by spring. If you can make say $4K on this in spring its worth it. Plus the lot appeal in spring

I am not a fan of this series of bmw, I do think it is the ugliest looking BMW cars, all the ones designed by Hooydonk. As for the model number, the first number is the model line, the last 2 digits should have told the engine volume in Liters, saying a 330 is a 3.0 3 series, the 650 should then be the 6 series 5.0. This did also apply until the BMW 540 came out (E39 / 1988), that were an 4.4L V8 not an 4.0, and from that point it is an Ish number, saying 5.0Ish liter. But all the older models are exact what is stated on the number.

That N63 motor is garbage. Why would you buy a V8 turbo from BMW. All the early N63 motors burn excessive oil and blow.
I saw that bottle on the ground in front of the car earlier in the video and thought "I'd move that so I don't run over it". A couple of minutes later, Craig runs over it.
Shocked you got that much for a rebuilt title 650i money pit. Just hope the guy doesn't come back in 48 hours when the check engine light pops on again.

Just got a 2011 BMW 328i xdrive. Salvage title from auction. I love it, first BMW great little four door all wheel drive car for winter. Replaced hood fender and headlights. I’m sure when I sell it will get up to double money put in…Don’t be afraid of salvage title, just know what caused it… in my case a barely damaged hood, a cracked barely bumper, dented fender and busted single headlight plastic…
If you are a private seller, save the photos and show the new buyer when ready to sell.

Great that you sold it… I would have reverted everything to stock and do all the ignition coils to ensure no misfires and then would have done a dash restoration video
But then again the channel is about buying and selling cars for profit and ensuring happy customers so doing what you did was the best for the car and the business

I'd lean toward taking the loss and getting your money working on other cars. Right now I'd expect interest rates to rise and Dealer Wholesale prices are still going down, so the prospects for getting a higher sales price and make up "holding" costs into March and April are not ideal.

Most people who buy a car expect to get at least 75,000 miles of use out of it without major engine or transmission repair or replacement
They don’t just let them sit or drive to concerts or picnics
They really want to buy something with less than 100,000 miles
You paying 6,500 for a 177,000 mile car is ridicules even 1,500 sounds high especially if it has rust.

I have Carly as well, but the functions and models are variable. As you said, it is great for BMW. Not so much on Korean GM stuff. Make sure you are aware of your model and functions at purchase.

It's wierd I usually see salvage title car in better condition with lower miles. I assume it's because they sit instead of accumulating miles for a little when they get crashed

The engine might have ran better if you put in premium fuel instead of 87 🤷♂️ I doubt BMW says regular is OK for the 4.8 v8

What is that color called? I’m looking at buying one that was hit on driver side door and fender. Runs and driver great no smoke. Car is $1000 and I’ve priced door and fender 250 a piece. Paint may cost around 100 with me painting them. So 1600 all in without running into any bumps. I’d most like put it up for sale for 8500 and come out with 6k at the least.
For me, the biggest hiccup is the front passenger bumper, fender match. For a restored car, I expect it took like a body shop did a great job restoring it. But, great job making money on it.

It’s kind of amazing if you just state the dilemma in another description. If someone said you can put out $4500 and store a car for 3-4 months and get a 75-80% return on your money people would think you were full of it. Possibly even a 100% return if it sold for $9k. Doesn’t sound bad to me.

You know what you can do with 3800 at the auctions. Consider you need your money to make 2 grand to break even. Possibly one flip. The next buy should get you near 7-8k when all is said and done...again how are sales during the holidays? Once you do sell your second vehicle think on the time factor because that will be the determining factor. I am also pretty sure it could snow in April too so it may be 4 months till top down spring. If at any point along the way you want to blow the car out cause you still aren't sure what you will get for the car, imaging you just want to get rid of it and blow it out for 6500 and say enough all ready. After reading this I'm sure you would agree the best to do is sell it now and have the money to work with.
