Exactly! All three sets of margaritas looked different. One set was too clear, one set looked like it was made with silver tequila, and the others looked more gold like an Anejo tequila. We need clarification! Lol
Tastes like a breakfast drink...Yes. Tequila sunrise, charizo and eggs with beans, rice cheese, sour cream, guacamole, flour tortillas and salsa on the side. Sunday brunch in southern California.

While I may not typically get a hangover from tequila, the next morning my kidneys feel like someone used them for a punching bag while I was sleeping. It's literally the only liquor that does that to me. Pretty frustrating, because I love me a good margarita
@@zarasha8220 Wow I thought I was the only one who felt that way drinking certain types of alcohol. That type of pain really sucks and there is no way to really describe it to people who don't experience it for themselves. I have drank many different types of alcohol and some do that to me and some don't, but when it happens I just have to stop

Grenadine is a pomegranate simple syrup basically. most stuff in stores is red sugar water that was made next to a pomegranate.
Thank you. That part pissed me off. The name comes from the French word grenade.

@@angelamorrow8973 Pomme grenade, which became pomegranate, equates to apple of Grenada in English. Grenades took their name from the fruit, since early grenades had a similar shape to pomegranates.
Originally it was fermented pomegranate juice, and several brands are now made with cherry juice as well.

It definitely wasn't a margarita, unfortunately. At least they both know margaritas and no real surprise reactions were lost

In Texas we've been drinking strong margs since the 60s when they became popular. The salt started because they were putting 3 or 4 shots in them in early days and no one drank them without mexican food.

@@katherinekoning3109...If you drink like a mad man, that's allot...but if you take your time over the course of a night out or whatever, it's not that much...it's science!...If you slam back drinks the alcohol hits you all at once and your body has a harder time absorbing and processing the alcohol...That's why you may notice that the same liquor affects you different depending how you drink it.

Guinness has "Nitro Cold Brew Coffee" in their cans, and it's my new favorite beer. I just love it, but they sell for abt $10 for 4 cans. I think they're 4 or 5% alcohol per can.
Why do Clisare and Callyann’s drinks look so much clearer than everyone else’s? Where they getting just the booze and very little mixer? LOL

Thanks for doing the tequila sunrise. Two things to try another time. 1) Don’t stir it at all. Add the ice and OJ first, then the grenadine. 2) Drink it with a straw, wood is better than metal because of the OJ. That puts the drinking source near the grenadine which is the heaviest part of the solution so that it starts very sweet but gets more strong as you drink it. Sometimes made with a taller and narrower glass. Doing 1) will make it look more like a sunrise.
The color of the Sunrise is suppose to be graduated Darker at the bottom and lighter at the top.

Clare, Callyann I'm thinking you got the incomplete Margarita too clear. BTW on the sunrise normally served with straw and not mixed so drinker can see the gradient then mix and drink. All and all pretty good selection of tequila cocktails. I'll stick to by the shot, no salt, no lime hell who am I kidding I pull the cork and hit the bottle damn the shot glass.

FYI frozen concentrated lime juice make a fine maggie, just use it straight from the container.
I always did 3-2-1. 3 parts frozen lime-ade concentrate, 2 parts tequila, 1 part triple sec. Over ice in a pint glass, swirl it a bit to let some ice melt. . . perfect.

If you're gonna make a cocktail in a pint glass, you definitely need more than one shot. That why cocktails are usually served in tumblers or copper cups. Pints are for Mai Tais, Long Islands, Hurricanes, etc., as they contain multiple shots.

I always wonder about the vast differnces in the shades of colors and levels of the drinks handed out to the differnt groups. That could have an have some effect on a taste rating thing, eh?

Sugar rim 100% I once ordered a white Russian, the bar tender made it with tequila instead of vodka. I damn near died, then had a 5 min argument with the guy as he kept say'n the Russian part was the Tequila as I tried to explain VODKA comes from Russia, Tequila from Mexico lmao He finally conceded with, Well if that's how you want it...but you're wrong.... roflmao!

@@lynnevetter I used to go to a Mexican restaurant that served strawberry margaritas with sugared rim instead of salt. Pretty tasty stuff.

What was wrong with some of these drinks? Margarita was way to clear, Tequila Sunrise bottom half of the glass should be orange the top liquid should be yellow with a cherry on top hence the name Sunrise (it should look like a sunrise)

The Margarita is the classic tequila drink and the salt is essential.
For someone who is interested: Tequila mixes with other drinks, the best mixes are from Mexico, like the "Palomas", the "Charro Negro" etc, etc, It's not just "margaritas"
ask a Mexican for the best mixes, because that's where Tequila was born and only they know the best mixes.
The salt is a hot climate thing. Fruits are always salted in warm places. Its because you sweat out a lot of salt and any replacement water needs to include electrolytes, there is actually a salt craving and so the salt actually does enhance the drink.
This needs Leather Jacket Guy, Irish Jesus, Ciara, Justine Stafford and Martin to give a truly entertaining tasting.
Either Donal couldn’t find a correct size bowl, or he’s going for the Moe Howard hair cut.
Did he have that haircut at the beginning? Only half way thru did I notice the bangs!

Callyann and Clisare's first drink do not have the same color as the others... did they have a margarita or was that a mix up? Clisare even sounded suspicious of the concoction.
Don't worry, it was the exact same, just slightly less lime juice is all! The lime juice adds to the cloudiness 😊

went a bit too heavy on the grenadine. tequila sunrise, in this order: ice, orange juice, tequila then grenadine. add the orange juice and grenadine slowly. i prefer mine not stirred because presentation. the grenadine will sink to the bottom so it will be red fading into an orange/yellow at the top.
The salt on the rim of a margarita is *chefs kiss* and necessary!

There is a lot of amazing tequila out there, there is a lot of absolutely horrid tequila - there is no tequila that's just okay.

@@Leviticusto most of the common brands are just okay. a handful are truly awful. the good stuff costs more, but the difference is noticeable. siete leguas is my favorite reasonably priced tequila, but I maintain that the best agave spirit is mezcal, which is its own universe.

My favorite is the kind that has a sombrero for the cap.
Its sad that most people's experience with tequila is cheap tequila used for mixed drinks or shots because a real nice sippin' tequila is such a nice thing. Many years ago I had a friend who's uncle owned an agave farm on the Yucatan and he made his own tequila ... I'd put it up against the finest 40 year old whiskey you've got.

8:43 I worked at a coffee shop / bar chain back around 1999 who had several coffee cocktails on the menu including a mocha martini, that was a vodka martini with cocoa powder and 3 espresso beans.
I heard Callyann say that she is a Pepsi Girl and I realized that she is perfect. The more I hear her speak the more I completely agree that she is a perfect person.
Shannon always makes everyone around her seem and sound smarter.
