    Awsome Craig! Thanks for explaining the dragknife.

    I was trying to figure out how this thing works also, and this is the only video I've found. Thanks
    I think someone mentioned the setup in the CAD software - that would definitely be helpful!

    how is the radius results ? I mean you gave 5 mm raduis and it cuts how much different ?? there is an offsett 1.63 mm on the knife. what is its effect ?

    Hello, How many offset does the knife have with the center of the tool? Thank you

    What kinds of things do you make with a drag knife?

  • @ScotYin808

    Yes, please tell us more about the software. Maybe a video showing how you set it all up?

    Craig. Great video. What cnc machine would you recommend for a beginner trying to cut foam board with this set up at home?

    • @craigsmachineshop2040
      @craigsmachineshop2040  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are just cutting foam board then you can probably just get an inexpensive cnc router. Not really familiar with all the cnc routers out there. You can probably just look on Ebay or Amazon.

    Great vid Craig! I like the slo-mo. Did you get past the dips that were leaving places uncut?

    • @craigsmachineshop2040
      @craigsmachineshop2040  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Mike! Yeah, seams to be working better now. I think I will still make another top like you suggested though with more smaller holes. Thanks!

    What software do you use? I have some sharp corner problems with my homemade one.😊

    • @craigsmachineshop2040

      I am using sheetcam with the dragknife plugin. Not sire if there is a free option. Cool on making one!

      No, its Sheetcam. I wish Fusion 360 had dragknife functionality.

    Thanks for a great video. What specs CNC would u recommend for this knife? My wife make Headstalls and leather goods for horses. She would be cutting a maximum of 3/8" leather.

    • @craigsmachineshop2040
      @craigsmachineshop2040  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! A decent CNC router I would guess. Not sure of all the models. You should check with Donek about the thickness. Might need multiple passes at that thickness.

    Hi Craig, any videos coming soon?

  • @Tensquaremetreworkshop
    @Tensquaremetreworkshop 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am struggling to see where the price comes from. A decent router costs less. I thought Festool had ridiculous prices, but this caps it.

    • @craigsmachineshop2040
      @craigsmachineshop2040  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine has cut probably over 10K gaskets, so it has paid for itself many times over.

      For the same reason Nike's are more expensive. The price is way over the top - but people are stupid enough to buy

  • @meocats

    you have a full CNC you could have easily made this tool yourself in half a day.

    • @craigsmachineshop2040

      I don't have a Lathe though. Would have been a nice project though.

    • @woodfinchcrafts7267
      @woodfinchcrafts7267 ปีที่แล้ว

      CNC lathe plus CNC router - that would make one of these with almost no manual intervention. I know because I have both, and churned out a lot of bushings
