Please note that this upgrade is most suitable for bike that is using 6,7 or 8 speed. If you have a 9 speed bike then you may not have a significant upgrade performance or you can consider changing it to Sensah CRX11

Definitely! However do take note you will need to find a 10 speed freewheel if you are using Java Zelo stock wheels
So its stock hub supports 10 speed casstte?

Hi, thanks for this content! how would I know if this is applicable to my Bickerton 1607, should I get to know the rear hub correct model to know if 10 speed cassette would fit? what about the chain, there's no need to change it, aren't the spaces between gears narrower?
Here are what I did to my bike:
1) 6 Bearings Pedals.
2) Saddle (Try an error until u get the right one for your ass)
3) RD, using claris ( good enough )
4) Crankset and a hollow BB.
5) Tyre, (using Maxxis now)
6) Hydraulic brake.
After all these upgrades I feel like you should one shot buy a bike that already got all these instead of part by part upgrade.
*Single speed foldie is the best. 3x or 2x crankset will only give u more weight and burden.
Rookie question: my foldie's hub also has only freewheel support (it'sa 7 speed 14-28t). Can I also replace my current freewheel for a 9 or 10 speed one? If not, I might buy a 7 speed mega range.

Hi, jere and wiser need some advice I have did the upgrade same cassettes and a hollowtech chain ring, but cant get the chain line, chain keep falling out from chainring. Much appreciate if any advice can be given. Thanks.

Very informative video. If in case i dnt change the gearset but change the chain ring to 56t hollowtech crank set. do i need to change the chain? if yes what is your recommendation?
Hi, thank you! Glad you like our videos. If you are keeping the cassette as the original stock set up, then most probably you don’t need to change the chain. The stock chain should have enough allowance for you to upgrade to 56T. So I would suggest you to try with the current chain first, if it is too stretched when you shift to lightest gear (gear 1) then you will need to change the chain.
hi wiser biker, if I only wanna upgrade 1 thing on my foldie, should I change my stock tyre to these performance ones like schwalbe or should I change my stock crankset to hollowtech? Which change will give me a bigger improvement in performance please? thanks.

Nice! I wasn't considering upgrading the groupset. Now I am! :) I also upgraded to Litepro Hollowtech 56T crankset before my 50km ride 2 days ago. It's not obvious what the difference is TBH. 😅
I was thinking of upgrading the rims to save weight after watching your older vid. Did some research and saw some affordable options at less than $200, shaving 600grams off. Also saw PAWL vs Rachet wheel hub systems but those are expensive and I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading on the Zelo if I don't change to a 2x10 groupset.
56T hollowtech is nice since you get some weight shaving but 56T requires more strength if you want to go faster.
Going for wheels upgrade is probably the next biggest component to upgrade that will last a long time so i will definitely pick one that has good performance and without a doubt shaving off some weight :)

For stock wheelset, what we can find on the market is 10 speed free wheel. Not sure if we have came across 11 or 12 speed.

Yes it is possible. This can be use for hybrid bike, MTB as well as foldable bike.

Hi Pravin, it seems like mine was the last batch of RX10 with gear indicator. The newer batches have done away with it.

Hi Kiki, i guess i know where you are coming from, there are some budget bikes in the market now that i think are not worth upgrading simply because the frame quality is poor and upgrading would not be worthwhile. But the Zelo has a solid frame in my opinion and hence making it worthwhile to put better components on it.

Definitely an upgrade that many should consider! It is amazing how much improvement a good quality wheelset can gives!
@@WiserBiker I'm new to this and plan to get a Java Zalo Z3. Since you mentioned a better wheelset will make a difference, the upgrade the store I intend to get the bike is offering these upgrades:
- Shimano Altus 9 Speed
- Decaf Hollow Tech
- Decaf 406 Lightweight rim
Would the above be a good set-up for a beginner like me?
For $100 I would rather change to Hollowtech crank arm and a 56t chainring for more speed, smoother pedaling efficiency and power transfer. Changing groupset only give more climbing ability. For me I think pedal efficiency should come first.
We just happen to have a 36-11T freewheel lying around so we decided to use it. Ideally we believe a 32-11T freewheel will be ideal if we want to optimize pedaling efficiency. How many people are able to sustain 80-90cadence over a period of time with 56T at the front and 11T at the rear. A road bike can hit 48km/h to 52km/h if your cadence is 90rpm with 50T at the front and 11T at the rear. Hence why we went for the 7 speed to 10 speed upgrade. This allow us to have a better gear ratio to accommodate to your engine.
There are no right or wrong answer for what upgrades you want to do, we just think that this is more applicable for more cyclists. To have better gear ratio and have a better climbing experience :)
Hi, how fast can you ride with this groupset?
For our case, it's possible to hit 25km/h average speed. You can probably hit top speed of 30km/h+ for a short period of time. We have yet to do hard rides on the foldable bike. But we will be doing some hard efforts soon!
