"Scrap Brain Zone" is too straightforward a track to really mess around with, and any attempts will deviate too far for comfort. Therefore, I decided to keep the expansion relatively close to home, and the play length short and sweet. Sometimes less is more.
I always like to imagine that the Scrap Brain (Final Zone) boss was Robotnik's big attempt at creating an engine for the Death Egg. Like he had it planned from the start of the series.
Been following you for some time! Your work is awesome. Thank you so much. This is one of my favorite themes from the original Sonic. You did a wonderful job. Thank you.
I think the reiteration of the chorus within the expansion works well here. For how conclusive the zone is, highlighting more than adapting works really well.
I agree. «Scrap Brain Zone» is hard to make something unique. But the expansion turned out to be quite normal. I especially liked it at 1:36, where you added electronics, and the Outro Jingle of Victory. Now we are waiting for an epic «Final Zone» from you! 38^)
Thanks! Final Zone is on its way, composing it now. Luckily, the composer left it wide (and I do mean wide) open for some creativity, so this one will be a lot more complex and bombastic.
Loved where this went with the expansion and outro, with different parts of the mix coming to the fore I could hear parts that reminded me of Death Egg from Sonic 2.
It's time for the Scrap Brain Zone, an absolutely fantastic track - and apparently one so nearly perfect that you've decided not to really mess with it too much. I feel like this expansion is more of a natural extension of the song itself, which is another reason why it works despite being so short~ 0:00 Of course the main melody sounds fantastic, we've already covered many times how full each note sounds, but the detail in the snare drums in 0:35 I know this was moreso something by the developers of the game, but I love how the electrical generators just FLASH to the beat of the cymbals. Props to having this part of the video show up right as the main melody ends 1:20 Now the backing track is just taking center stage, just as Stage 2 begins~ The beeps of that main synth kind of remind me of the sounds of... not exactly a Nokia phone, but just analog enough to make me think of technology. This section seems to lean heavily on sounding like a machine, which surrounds the interior of the Scrap Brain. The opening section was harsh and industrial, highlighting the danger of the mostly unfinished Zone exterior - bottomless pits, crushing by pistons, the hidden element of smog in the air. This middle section starts us with the mechanical majesty of the Zone. Sure, there's still danger, but it's much more carefully planned and deliberate 1:40 I love how ethereal the main melody sounds from this point~ 2:15 And now the backing track lets the main melody have some time to shine! It's all coming to a head now 2:30 This arpeggio (I think it's an arpeggio) reminds me so much of a computer 2:45 Oooh interesting twist on the outro - normally would've contained the main melody playing again, but instead the drums and bass have a little moment to themselves - I like it!! 3:00 I really liked that flourish at the end~ In an alternate universe, a dark Labyrinth motif may have been brought in for the dreaded Act 3, but as you stated before, you didnt want to diverge too far from this main melody. I think you made an excellent choice, Maestro 👏 Well done, as usual~
Love the music of this level it matches so well with what's going on in the game but if I have to choose I still prefer the Master System version which is completely different from this one

will you make an expansion + enhancement for the TMNT: Turtles in Time soundtrack?

Love this idea.
