There is one person who suffers for years, from my DIY hobby, which takes a lot of time in the relationship and the family, and one person who is excited about the results and eager to show everyone. Both of them are actually my wife... ❤️ ️🥰 📌 If you are in this story too, show this video to your spouse. Make a project together. It's amazing and fun! So after more than 15 years of acquaintance, and on the occasion of our 10 years anniversary celebrations, I decided to surprise her and throw her into the water, into my hobby, and make a project together, to experience the thrill of creating with me. We built a simple stool, painted with chalked paint and distressed vintage style look. We began by learning (briefly) how to use some basic tools that she has never been touched, and continued to create a simple project. She was passionate about the work and didn't even understand "how can you work like that? buy another screwdriver!" (instead of drilling and screwing with the same one). The children also participated, with the painting the stool, so it became a family project! 👨👩👦👦 What do you think? write in the comments. Funny thing, I was looking for a diy wooden stool project because I wanted to do it with my wife )) And no, I also didn't give my wife circular saw ) It is really worth sharing some of your hobbies with your beloved as well as the joys they bring )
Cool Denys, thanks for your comment! Yes, I think that circular saw is not for starter woodworkers and of course not for first project and it should come later. Jigsaw is dangerous like any saw, but still much easier to start with. So, did you already made some projects with her? (maybe you can give me more ideas :) for the next projects). Or you're going to make a stool as first project?
We just prepared the parts - pre-cut and some sanding, and about to assemble the thing ) The idea with this project is to allow her to do it herself wherever it is possible. I just provide guidance, instructions with the tools and a helping hand where needed )). Also some support with dangerous tools.
@@XDIY It is not the first project, we've already built together a garden bench. But for that one we were doing like 80/20. She did sanding and finishing. It was very good though. We should also capture some videos, should be interesting. As to ideas - we like to do wooden cookies ) Really fun thing to do. It is not quite a practical furniture, but it is just beautiful and interesting to make and finish (you can do oil or burn, or you can do both). The trick is to go for a walk and `hunt` good naturally dried branch. If you find it on a tree, you can cut it on a ring and make a favor for the tree anyway. From our experience - If a branch is naturally dried and has no cracks, after you cut it to cookies - they will not crack as well

תודה רבה חגי! תראה, הגיגסו הזה דיי פשוט, קניתי אותו בהתחלה לפני שנכנסתי חזק לתחביב. אז מצד אחד יש טובים ממנו ויכול להיות שהייתי קונה אחד יותר טוב. מצד שני, הוא לא אכזב אותי אף פעם. חתכתי איתו מתכת ועץ. לגבי הלהב, היא יכולה לסטות אם חותכים עץ עבה, אבל לדעתי זה ברוב המסורים האנכיים.. לחיתוך מדוייק עדיף מסור עגול. לגבי המשייפת של דקו, עלתה לי פעם 80 ש"ח, חרשתי אותה בכמה פרויקטים ובינתיים אחלה, במחיר כזה אין מה להתלבט ולחובב בטוח.

גובה 40, רוחב 45, עומק 30.
הייתי עושה יותר עמוק מ30 כדי שיהיה רחב יותר ויותר יציב. אצלנו פשוט הוא מאוחסן במקום צר ולכן עשיתי עומק 30.
