I here you man when you said you hate it but you gotta do it. That’s how I feel with everything going on right now. Making really good money working 4 days a week doing food service but I kind of hate it. It’s not terrible but there’s other things I’d rather be running right now but the money is there and it’s providing for my family. Hope you’re still doing well currently brother.
Well you are a great guys ,hopefully it will get better now it not the best and thanks for being real I just retired I did 45 years of stay safe be bless and a better new year
It’s amazing to see how people turned out to be when they put their mind into something that they really want to do. I remember the first video you posted about being an owner operator, and you was pumped! This sounds like something that most entrepreneurs go through in their first 1-3 years in as a entrepreneur. They struggle for a bit, but if they can stick it out, the rewards will be well worth it! You got it!
I soooo glad you didn't give in Baby Boy 😇. You have all you need, plus you have what it takes to make it to the top!!! Stay FOCUS & Stay on COURSE!!! YOU GROW THROUGH WHAT YOU GO THROUGH😉😘. GOD GOT YOU REMEMBER THAT!!! TOUGH TIMES BUILD CHARACTER 💪🏾 💯 🙏🏾 🙌🏽 😘🥰.
You seem like a great business owner. I love your attitude. That being said....you know this is cyclical and the tough times won't last forever. Being your own boss is priceless. Keep grinding, keep on the phone with your customers....more and different opportunities WILL come your way. I manage a fleet of 11 and I need to get my drivers home every night. It isn't easy....but this isn't a short game. Chin up, keep grinding, keep those sleeves rolled up.
Thank you Bro , I’ve taken my CDL DMV test and failed twice , so I have 1 more chance before I have to get a new permit. But no matter what I’m getting my license , whatever it takes. Level Up!!!!
Parallel is actually the easiest one (in my opinion). Make sure your school is teaching the correct method. Find a GOOD TH-cam video that shows a top angle and one that shows from the side. Watch them carefully. Hard left, hard right, straight back, hard right, hard left. It should drop straight in. The key is when doing the straight back that your trailer is properly positioned. Adjust it if needed. Also you have to know when to perform each turn. Tire/Cab location is key. Watch the videos. I didn’t practice at all. I just went and did it. The schools don’t teach much.
Definitely not gonna quit…sometimes I just be having my little moments and need to shake it off and get back grinding but definitely appreciate you 💪🏾💯
Hey bro you ever think about pulling power only freight for USA truck? You run under your numbers and just pull their trailer. It’s contract freight so the rates are better. It’s some brokerage freight on there too you just have to pick through the junk. It’s called power plus
You ever thought of running hazmat tanker? It's a few companies in bmore looking for owner ops to run gas. Load up in curtis bay and deliver to the dmv area
Correct. A lot of people start businesses (not just in trucking) to only give themselves a job. For anyone reading this, what I’m saying is if you are a construction worker, and you buy a house to fix and sell, but the profit from the house was the same exact amount as if someone else paid you to do the work, then all you did was give yourself a job. Truckers need to buy multiple trucks and have drivers otherwise it’s just a job.
Doing it for 30 years, it's been good to me. Trucking always been a up and down. The drivers with the lowest debt will win this game, when the next surge comes.
I really appreciate your honesty. A lot of people are struggling out here. It’s in God’s hands.

Sheesh bro keep your head up. I am a local driver for an Amazon third-party company, but I was looking to start my own business and get my own truck.
It gets better in the spring bro, Jan-Feb heard it’s slow rn
Yeah just got to make it through until it picks up again

You know the name of the companies?
@@thelifeofmerckid kenan advantage group, fleet transit, baltimore tank lines. Kenan advantage location is on the same property as the fueling site.
Yup. I run hazmat tanker.
@@cookiemoney2462 definitely appreciate you
@@thelifeofmerckid try quality carriers too. I think they run regional tho.
Try 1099 for bit to play catch up if u want in Chiacgo area man just a plan b or c
Is the juice worth the squeeze is the question
Try NFI as a power partner.
I’m going to look into them
Remember, you can’t keep walking away from life…
Stay strong. Preserve 💪🏿. Consider taking longer loads that may pay more and route you towards cheaper fuel areas outside of the Northeast. 🤷🏿♂️
Don’t let DOT see you driving with open shoes cause you will get a ticket 😮
So are you leased on to a company?
I’m no trucker of course, always thought about it. Now at 57, done aged out the game.
No I have my own authority
no still time
U running to where you home everyday or weekly
Home everyday…right now I have some family priorities that’s keeping me from being able to stay out on the road
You have a dispatcher?
No
i dont understand why people want to be owner operater, why paying big money just to get a job??? am i the only one who think its stupid?
Correct. A lot of people start businesses (not just in trucking) to only give themselves a job.

Some people just want to have something of their own…can’t knock them for that
Real Estate may be a better option, just saying
I’ll like to buy a truck, how hard is it to find a driver? I can’t drive but I’ll like to buy a two maybe two. Or maybe 2-3 trailers to lease out
Mistake hahha
Never a mistake…just got to grind harder
