Loved this take on Normani's latest album and thankfully I don't think its too late. The challenge has begun with Candy Paint. Whoo Chiile. An absolute BOMB. That song stands alone its Audacious, Ignint, and Grown. That song will walk up the charts as the challenges begin to rise like the Texas temps. Big Boi, an ode to her man. You have to listen closely and "know" football. Insomnia, every girl's problem after yo man calls you after hours. Stargate produced it well and if your ear is as good as mine. You'll hear the one and onely Brandy givin her that background harmony. I could go one and on. Here's my take. This could be a test study for Influencers. We can change the game and Pop this album off. It can be done. Your analysis and other ideas can show these companies that the power is in our hands.
I think Normani wants to do it the old school way. Interviews and traditional press used to be more than sufficient. Now, social media marketing is a necessity. Not everybody can do it like Beyonce (who is a well established brand) that can survive on hype and name recognition alone.
Her team, and RCA have done this on purpose. I think RCA was meant to hold Normani back, even though they signed her because she was a threat at the time for other artists. I think that the fact that there is no promotion, for this is a sign that RCA has no faith. They did the same thing with JC Shazier from *NSYNC when he tried to go solo. RCA/jive records, concentrated more on Justin and then just let JC flop and let him Tell everybody when the album was coming out, and then the company would change the date, making JC look like a fool. And the album never came out and it just faded into nothingness. This is similarly what I feel although you’re doing with Normani.
@@joshuajones7900 for sure, you called it. It just makes me sad because motivation really was that peak potential spark on every level, and it could’ve just been the beginning. Wild side was a 2 year follow-up that carried for a bit, and then 3 years later dopamine was the last gasp for air in that stifled environment. Alongside the family problems going on for a while, I’m sure she was leeched of her passion/investment that you could feel radiating from her before. Only for now though, I hope. If you don’t have the emotional investment/passion in such a big project it just feels like homework you keep kicking down the line, not exactly something you jump out of bed straight into the studio for. RCA knows exactly what they orchestrated, prolly get paid a lot more to follow orders from higher ups.
I purchased the album on Amazon Music, but to be honest with you, I wanted a physical album and vinyl. I'm disappointed that they couldn't even give her a single CD I could purchase. I hope she leaves RCA.
love Normaniii! However, her team always misses the mark. I agree with you- it's okay if you want to be private... it's also ok that they didn't strike when the iron was hot after Motivation, Love Lies, Wild Side, but no one focused on Normani doing what she does best... Performing! As much as I love her, I'm not trying to hear Normani singing in front of a mic.. I wanna see her moving and grooving! She didn't appear on ONE morning show, talk show, online podcast or livestream, award show- NOTHING. Not a performance to be found..Thats mis-step #1. Surprise releases are for artists who have track records of dropping records on time. WIth media the way it is now, you can NOT as an artist do no promo and expect people to remember your performances from 2-5 years ago. The album is perfectly FINE but if she wasn't gonna perform live anywhere to promote even ONE song, it was doomed from the start. Even Beyonce had to smack us over the head with "Break My Soul" fifty leven times
This is the most sensible review I’ve heard. Everything you said makes sense. I love her too. She’s so talented buts she’s limited to what she’s capable of. By the way you just gain a subscriber.
As a longtime Normani fan since fifth harmony years to me she should’ve stayed independent after the group went on their hitaus she said in her Terrell interview the success of love lies from Khalid was fast paced quick and everything came in so quick she didn’t have time to think about her future, not to mention RCA records and other major labels have done horrible jobs marketing and promoting black female artists they are very selective at the resources they give to other artists specifically white/non black/mixed with black artists who can easily transition to top 40 radio (ex: Olivia roderigo, Doja cat, Jack Harlow, etc). Normani should’ve stayed independent and start developing her sound while networking on the business aspect of the industry, releasing small projects like EPs/mixtapes that helps develop her sound while also developing her own fanbase at the same time would’ve worked in her favor
I honestly think the lack of any real promo is because she wants to leave RCA and sign with another label so at least this body of work proves to another label that she’s worth investing in
@marketingthroughobservation I think she would loved a music video but once again she could fund the video but rca still has to approve it. Why waste your energy funding your own videos going into personal debt. She already mentioned her second album on ebro, I doubt anyone wants to stay with a label that releases an album in 6 years.
Her career will skyrocket the second she liberates herself from that awful label. Ppl like Meghan trainor are signed to it and look at how big she’s gotten… If Beyoncé was signed to RCA we wouldn’t even know who she is unfortunately
I love Normani I bought her album and I’m a big fifth harmony fan!!! ❤… but fifth harmony is actually one of the lowest selling girl groups of all time 🥲😭

It can definitely be done ✔️ and thank you!!! I appreciate this ❤️

Exactly! You’ll have to adapt. Plus you need a really solid fan base too.

Love the "Where's the album" campaign idea. ✨
Thank you!
she needed visuals!
More visuals?
I purchased the album on Amazon Music, but to be honest with you, I wanted a physical album and vinyl. I'm disappointed that they couldn't even give her a single CD I could purchase. I hope she leaves RCA.
Yeah I was surprised there were no physical copies

You have summarised this so nicely! All great points made
This is the most sensible review I’ve heard. Everything you said makes sense. I love her too.

Awww thank you sooo much. Welcome to the community

Her fans are happy
That she launched? Or about the album?
the album is fire. 10's all around.@@marketingthroughobservation
Both, I am happy with both
No they're not. She has lost a lot of her fans due to her inactivity, lack of promo, visuals or explanation from her.
no we’re not 😭😭😭🥲
I honestly think the lack of any real promo is because she wants to leave RCA and sign with another label so at least this body of work proves to another label that she’s worth investing in
It can be that too
I would have bought the album if they did a physical release
I wonder why they didn’t
@@marketingthroughobservation Physical CDs haven't been a thing in years.
Have you listened to the album yet?
No offense I think normani wants to be dropped from rca. It's not like they fund anything anyway.
You think that’s why she launched this album this way?
@marketingthroughobservation I think she would loved a music video but once again she could fund the video but rca still has to approve it. Why waste your energy funding your own videos going into personal debt. She already mentioned her second album on ebro, I doubt anyone wants to stay with a label that releases an album in 6 years.
@flighter7713 Stop blaming RCA when normani is a lazy sloth
Pls what does the Venn diagram behind Normani on the thumbnail say
It’s to highlight the 5 things discussed in the video
Her career will skyrocket the second she liberates herself from that awful label. Ppl like Meghan trainor are signed to it and look at how big she’s gotten… If Beyoncé was signed to RCA we wouldn’t even know who she is unfortunately
You think the label is actively sabotaging her?
I love Normani I bought her album and I’m a big fifth harmony fan!!! ❤… but fifth harmony is actually one of the lowest selling girl groups of all time 🥲😭
Ohh really?
The letters or whatever is too much I feel I have epilepsy
What letters?
@@marketingthroughobservation the writing on the video that’s flashing
The album was boooooring
You think so?
@@marketingthroughobservation I KNOW SO
normani should have never collaborated with cardi b, end of discussion
You think that’s why she’s not doing well?
Please if wild side wasn’t part of the album it would’ve flopped even more 😭
