Fantastic, I really hope certain TH-cam cyclists will watch this and see that driving a HGV in this environment is not easy and give us a bit of bloody credit and respect! Love the POV videos mate :)
Just watching how Nick turns the steering whell with that steering ball, and squeeze into those tight London street is AWESOME. This is one good driving truck driver. I don't know how he does it. Skill, experience, training! Awesome!
Great stuff. People might take more care about how they park seeing this. I like how the UK has stop lines set way back so trucks and buses can get around some corners. Good insight to a day in the life of a truck driver. Thanks.
Amazing Skills!!! Awesome.I know from myself what the driving in city means. its anything else but not easy. You have to watch EVERYTHING^^ suddenly turning off cars, bike-rider, pedestrians and Car-driver they didn't know what to do if^^ And with an quad Axis..., you have sooo a huge turning circle. Great Video. Impressive. Well done. All times good drive!
I know its a year oldish video ,but it still show's how hard the job is , Respect on the driving skills Nick .Your life isn't made all that easy to say the least . Still really enjoyed the POV taught me a lot mostly how to help your kind of tipper when I can when I'm on the road ,Daz
People don't realise how bloody tight our streets are, I drove a drop side with an atlas.crane all over sw and into kt postcodes sw19 was my least favourite too many cars and divs about lol still enjoyed driving my truck though, keep up the good work Nick.
Great videos mate keep them coming just passed my hgv2 so these are great for me to watch

I've been a truck driver my self and I loved the job. But of course I would like to upgrade my normal drivers license to a H G V drivers license. I always try to help another truck driver as much as I can.
Just seen this video and its brilliant. Never been in a truck and then you get a video like this f**king brilliant M8 please post each day and keep the camera facing you so I can see how you drive a big truck like that, fascinating!!!!
Brilliant vid.How about a bit of a commentary like which suburb you're in etc.I used to live in London in the 1970s to1980s and drive HGVs so I know how hard it can be.I thought I recognised the area at the start as down tooting way but am probably wrong. Can anybody enlighten me?. Keep up the good work and drive safe.
Nice video, great driving and nice to see you kept your cool several times when the wonderful, ever aware car drivers happily did their thing with no concept of signals etc!! Watching this video made me appreciate the peace and tranquility of West Cork. I used to live in South Norwood but would hate to come back and drive over in London again.
Eezee Listen thanks mate! Really nice comment, appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video, will hopefully make some more soon. Did you see my first video?
Nick Surty Not yet, but I shall hopefully look at all of your vid's soon. I appreciate good video's and especially like good driving - I used to be a tour coach driver, worked for Epsom Coaches and then Wallace Arnold. I moved over to Ireland about 10 years ago to drive as a relief driver but unfortunately very quickly got bad osteoarthritis affecting my hips and knees, so had to stop work and boy, do I miss it. Cant even climb the stairs now!! You never know what's round the corner (especially in London traffic!! LOL), so even though some of your days might be a bit stressful (although I think you have a good sense of humour and attitude to work), try not to take it all for granted. I am still keeping my CPC up to date (huh! my thoughts on the CPC yearly modules are not printable!) in the hopes that I might get the ok for new hips, but after an 8 year wait so far, don't think it is going to happen.
Eezee Listen blimey small world lol. I dont live far from where Epsom coaches are. I live in Sutton. Thats a real shame about your health situation at the moment, i wish the best for you and that things get sorted sooner rather than later! Thanks for watching the other vid too, saw the comment. Yeah a lot of sidestreets in central can be a pain, i have been on the grabs now for nearly 6 years now so am kinda used to shitty situations lol. Also having class 1 helps.
Nice driving, can tell you are a good driver and at home driving amongst all the shitty motorists in London. Its a skill, and the fact nothing phased you says a lot such as the other shitty drivers on the road.
I got my cat c a few months back with the intention of a career change and I watch these videos to help decide. My office job is 31k for 35hrs a week, it's easy flexible but soul destroying and I really don't know if I should take the plunge or not. I hear some drivers can earn 40k plus?
at 0:25 aren't you stopped on a junction box? aren't you afraid of a camera giving you a ticket or is there some exemption for long vehicles line trucks/bus? or does the camera only gives gives if you stop on it AFTER red?
Hi Nick just subed your channel. Great videos mate, you from south London? I only passed my test in April and working as a tanker refueller driver at the airport. How do you find driving around London? Nice one mate keep up the videos - great insight
Hi Nick I'm thinking about doing driving for a career, I'm in my 40's & have driven since 17. What kind of license do you need to drive the lorry on this vid? Thank you in advance.
Hi mate your looking at around £1200 for the 1 week course including test, CPC and theory. All u need to do is get a drivers medical and apply for your provisional licence beforehand
Alright mate I am also looking to do my Cat C license where's the best place to get information on the CPC? Plus I've been qouted £950 because I am only having 4 days training instead of 5 because I already have my D License...

In London, do you have to stop for peds crossing the road, or do they stop for you?
Only if there's a red light or flashing orange
