THIS IS ALL BULLSH*T…this wil be a lengthy comment but if you read it you will see Krayzie is full of sh*t and all of this can easily be debunked. And this is coming from a life long Bone fan. For starters, notice how Krayzie danced around the question…he said he didnt come in the game promoting violence? What about his album BEFORE HE EVEN HAD A RECORD DEAL (Faces Of Death) talking about killing, robbing, selling crack and everything else in between!!! And I could say the same for ALOT of rappers. Theres tons of rappers who had underground “gangsta rap” music before they ever got signed to a label and you can easily find it on youtube if you just look. Nobody “forced” them to do it! Or even pushed them in the slightest what so ever. The TRUTH is they were influenced by the likes of Ice T and NWA! And thats what was SELLING so sure the record labels arent gonna stop them. So if you wanted to say the industry PROFITED off of gangster rap and capitalized off of it sure we can agree on that…but forced it? Nope! They didnt need to. In fact, the government TRIED TO BAN gangster rap, but then the “culture” argued first amendment and said it was “reality rap” and it would be racist to not allow them to do it. Theres PLENTY of footage out there of the country trying to ban gangster rap. The truth is now decades later we look at all the negative effects it has caused and now they wanna point the finger and not take resposibility for what THEY caused and contributed to. They wanna take credit for the good and shift the blame for the bad. Krayzie is ALWAYS trying to shift the blame for his wrong doings. Also…in Krayzie’s original interview about this topic, he claimed this so called “meeting between record label executives” took place in 91. There was still plenty of “non-gangster” rap that came out after that (again, its very simple research)…the truth is it just wasnt selling like gangster rap was so inevitably thats what rappers wanted to rap about cuz they wanted to sell records… COMMON F***ING SENSE. Even Krayzie himself STILL rapped about violence AFTER this meeting!! Why? Why Krayzie??
Bottom line is I got love for Krayzie…im a life long Bone Thugs fan since day one but he be talking some bullsh*t sometimes. If I was there id put him on the spot and play some of his lyrics from Faces Of Death and ask him if anyone forced him to rap like that or was it because he was influenced by other gangter rappers, but of course we all know the answer! Id also ask him if he knew about the meeting in 91, why did he CHOOSE to still rap about killing and selling drugs long after? Even when Bone left Ruthless and werent even on a label, HE STILL DID IT!!! Also if he cared so much why did it take him 20 years to “expose” them? Maybe it was because HE HIMSELF capitalized off if it to sell records and then once Bone wasnt in the lime light anymore and Krayzie grew up and matured, THEN he brought it to light. If he cared as much as he claims he would’ve exposed this back in 91 and stopped promoting it
Also as far as the prisons go I cant debate that cuz I honestly dont know. Maybe some of those people DO own prisons, I wouldnt doubt it….BUT, once again nobodys FORCING blacks to go out and commit crime either! Theres just as many white people who listen to gangster rap…and they arent out commit record amounts of crime…but thats another conversation

Gangsta with ice t , nwa, geto Boys. Now everything is NWA. It's changing the narrative of how we are supposed to be as a people. Programming the youth. It's gotta stop. Shout out to Krayzie for just bringing it to light to help stop the undercover klansmen from doing their lynching in the shadows.

I definitely agree with what he's saying about the music industry and the connections with prison. At the same time, we can't blame them bc we're the one's listening to and writing the abrasive music and destroying our communities. In the late 80s and 90s, I could see how and why we didn't see the connection bc "gangsta" music was new. But now, 45yrs later, we should know better as a whole... Back then, like he said, we had balance. Im not blaming rap music for all the problems bc I know it comes from slavery. In today's world, we have everything at the tip of our fingertips and we should know better. Instead of always on social media, use your phone for educational purposes.

The 90s were different you could listen to gangsta rap what was going on the streets,or go to Miami and booty dance or the east coast rhyme and metaphors or go down south and listen to 808s you had a variety not just one same trap rap mumble crap music some of it is ok but it all sounds the same no creativity beats are all the same when a east west down south rapper came out or group you can tell them apart and they had there own different style you can tell the difference from three 6 bone do or die by there delivery and beats they had fast rap but was different. Bone was dark three 6 was more dark but they had alot of bass and scratches on some songs do or die was like pimp type patterns so and so on I miss that era 😢

Great conversation. It's quite tangled actually. On one hand, people are buying what artists put out because that's all that's mainstream, but on the other hand artists are putting out that kind of music because that's what people are buying. It's going to take the consumers and the artists supporting one another if any real change is going to take place.

Awesome interview & I don’t know how they can say “Hip Hop evolved” if they haven’t or never done their research about the music industry & the entertainment industry in general cuz they’re one in the same. Shit, they even have whole documentaries about music labels on TH-cam talking about labels taking out insurance claims on said artist incase they don’t recuperate the funds they lost with these labels & as an artist it hurts knowing you can’t get to the top because there’s negative forces that be that will change, contort, misuse, & exploit your talent & creativity until the last drop, yes even death. It does hurt tremendously cuz I’m passionate about my craft like all artist are but I’d rather keep my soul than sell it cuz at the end of the day everything is broken down into 2 categories: Good & evil & I see the evil from a mile away.

The song "Creepin on ah come up" is all about robbing a bank, and the song "No Surrender" is all about killing cops. Love the group & this guy is unquestionably the best artist in that group, but I don't think anyone in charge told them to scrap songs about religion & to do songs on those subjects instead.
I think it's more about getting older & dealing with the conflict between not wanting to give that stuff any energy anymore, but realizing that unfortunately that is what sells the most. People love Floyd Mayweather & think Andre Ward is boring...they have similar talent but one guy doesn't fit the "stereotype" (no trash talk, family man, etc)....the other guy does & people love him for it. It's sad but I don't know how you can change it.
Also Crossroads Remix was their biggest hit & it was actually a more positive song compared to a lot of the other music so...

You brought up songs from Creepin On Ah Come Up…but they were actually talking about all the same sh*t BEFORE that when they werent even signed to a record label. Check out thier underground album Faces Of Death

    The Saint Michael Prayer
*Saint Michael The Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by The Divine Power of God, cast into hell Satan and all The Evil Spirits who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of Souls, Amen.*
*"And War broke out in Heaven; Michael and his Angels fought against The Dragon. The Dragon and his angels fought back, but they were defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in Heaven. The Great Dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called The Devil and Satan, The Deceiver of The Whole World - he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.*
    *Revelation 12:7-9*

Aint no agenda , krayzie is a loner quiet and spends too much time alone in his own thoughts … even if there is some truth to this meeting , why in the world did Jimmy iovine let bone make strength n loyalty with only 3 violent songs ? Why is black eyed peas wheres the love one of the biggest songs in the world ? Truth is n words just like killing in their lyrics and we love to listen to it like watching a thriller, labels only care about money weather u make a love song a violent song or whatever they have to make back the millions they put into artists like krayzie bone !! Lol why is Drake the biggest rapper in the world if krayzie is right ? Drake has made like 2 violent songs in his entire career
