I am legitimately curious how large the offline install size would be. The original Series S has about 364 GB of usable space and if this game were to exceed that there's no way any original S user could download and play. Regardless of the size though, this game should have an offline mode for preservation purposes.
NYC is still polygrams. It only looks good when your flying really high above it. Getting out and walking around gives me glimpses of a post Armageddon dystopian world. It's truly the stuff of nightmares.
14 hours total playtime, 13 of wich was spent in loading screens and about 10 minutes of flying an invisible a10 with rainbow textures in the place of grass
I was only able to get this filmed because it was like 5am in the morning and people weren't trying to play. Straight up fucking nightmare trying to play this yesterday.
@tunafish109 You guys must be in high density areas. Im in west Texas and everytime I load the game up, it works (even launch day). Now the texture streaming needs to be adjusted as it takes too long sometimes and I have 300gb down.
That's what gigantic head Spencer wants... Everything to be run off a cheap cloud server that ruins games. They should of made it like MFSX. Microsoft should head away from cloud gaming an actually focus on singleplayer games.

Idk if going through the cloud was a good idea bc on the series X the ground textures are horrible grass an tress look fuzzy when walking an moving the camera. Some cockpits look very low res where everything looks blurry.
My frame rate is hilarious on my series x when I simply walk around any plane for pre-flight checks. Terrain looks real washed out. Going to stick with ‘20 for a while until things are cleaned up.
Visually it looks to have been downgraded in my opinion. And I think it has everything to do with it not being downloaded and using the cloud. I have 500 Mbps download speed wired and it just doesn't load New York City as well as New York City in MSFS 2020
2020 is mostly local with cloud flourishes. This is alllll cloud. It's hard to actually judge how good this game can look because it's a mess at the moment.
@@janolas5945 I think that everyone has different results based on area were you live. I have 1 gb/s internet, and my graphic results are not good. Low bandwidth warnings everytime I play, play on series x with Sony bravia 120 fps with vrr enabled. Textures looks bad, lots of pixels and blocks in stead of smooth surroundings
@@janolas5945 Cannot compare the PC version to Xbox, its better, was tested better on PC, very little info on Xbox version was mentioned only lots of info on the PC version. The Xbox version is totally garbage and gone back to Fs2020, which on Xbox is far better then this crap. Will be at least 6 months before on Xbox you start getting decent gameplay at all
Unplayable for me my mouse doesn’t work at all just the slightest movement sends it spinning and the gamepad is basically useless at navigating controls in the cockpit idk how he was even able to make this video 🤷🏽♂️
Here is a tip that I figured out within 5 minutes of msfs 2020. Plug in a real mouse into your console. The controller mouse function sucks and has always sucked.

@jc07788 there are obvious bugs for example the help text of some of the options in the settings do not match the drop-down list of options that appears in the actual input controls. And how are you so confident about the servers being the issue of all the rendering deficiencies and the and how do you explain this low frame rate if the server is not sending all the details the frame rate should be even higher as the rendering should be simpler.. also the effects of the water like the waves are terrible in many areas plus you can see obvious rendering problems with trees being crappy and misplaced and edges of things objects colliding with other objects it's not the servers it's just a buggy unfinished unpolished software
To be honest the only reason why I think day 1 was terrible is because the servers were full of players that will only play this once & then uninstall it but I also think that if it weren't a Game Pass title the servers would've been okay.
I can’t even fly a plane. If I start from cold dark I just spawn in the middle of the aircraft stuck. None of my keybinds work or anything. If I fly training it fine but my mouse sensitivity is unusable at any dpi
Once I discovered DCS World, I began to only use MSFS 2020 as a glorified Google Earth Simulator. When taking off or landing in DCS on a multiplayer server, you actually have to look because there is damage and crashes. Damaging tires on take off or landing adds to the realism and creates a sense of danger and urgency. PS I would have tested this sim on a low level flight in a fast jet to see the texture pop in and texture streaming.
I believe the scans are approximately two years old. We bought our house in 2022 and you can see the very early development of my area. My house is there but some of the local stores that have been built since then are not mapped. That’s how it is in my area anyway. I live just outside of Dallas, Texas.
The whole streaming is frustrating. I get it, that’s the future of gaming. Being able to locally store the game gives you more options. You shouldn’t be forced to play online and without an internet connection you can’t play. I will keep playing 2020 until it’s stopped being supported.
My local town looks the same and the map is actually about 10 years old. The hospital that was built years back shows it being built. And the new school out there isn't there. Even though it does have the hospital landing pad.

I have both Xbox X & a pretty high end PC and FS24 runs better on my Xbox. Even looks better to my eye. I have both side by side and have been experimenting. Xbox X the clear winner so far.
the controls for the xbox came totally different from the 2020 flight sim and it sucks cause rebinding alot of things is gonna be painful. did you had to rebind all of yours or did it came fine?
It seemed okay for me with some minor adjustments. To be fair I filmed this at 5am after a super long day just before sleeping, since that's when it worked. I'm going to have do more adjustments.
Why i can't interact with Buttons and everything in the plane. If i Press A in the Autopilot Button at example, nothing Happens. I can't Open the Doors of the Planes This make me sad
Do you see any other ground crews or aircraft other than the yellow and white generic airbus? Any commercial airplanes with typical logos such as Delta, Southwest, United, UPS etc? It all looks bare and total generic on my xbox. But flights are doing very well, very little stutters and scenery popping.

Question: why is the game toggling my assist settings off when I go into a flight in Free Play? I have Pilot and control tips on and it keeps toggling them off before every flight. I can’t even turn them back on once I get into the flight.

This is my first time ever playing a flight simulation game on Xbox and I am completely lost on the controls of how to fly. Any way you can make a tutorial on all the controls for Xbox?
@@Skycaptin5 This would be HUGE!!!!!! I can't even find any list of the defaults (i have to look section by section to see all the commands and which have been bound) so I can see what has NOT been used, so I can map something new to that combination. For example, I want to add Autopilot to the controller, but don't know the best way to do it because I don't want to create a conflict. I can't believe there isn't just a list of what all has already been enabled on the Xbox controller.
What are the odds that the first video showing the MSFS for Xbox Series X has you flying over is also the same city that I live in! Crashed into either Fox Hollow or The Winston (formerly Calgary Elks Club) Golf Club to start. Lots of missing buildings at Seton like the Dollarama and Petland for example.
Almost all of Seton is missing, I thought we had a semi recent scan done of the city too which is surprising since it was part of the Canada update they did years back.

@@RyanFlyinDrivin found a trick to improve the graphics of the game because, originally, it looks quite bad, even on my Xbox Series X with a 1 Gbps internet connection. I disabled multiplayer in the online settings, as well as real-time traffic and real-time weather. You’ll see that suddenly the game runs much better!
Nice video, I would prefer to have highlighted what are you actually having against the 2020. It is come through a little fuzzy to actually you are awed is from 2024. Most people that is watching this most likely already have the 2020 and are interested in know if it is worth or not buying it.

I really wish my city had faster internet plans the fastest we get is a gig download speed and thats noy even enough big cities and even small cities refuse to load properly the cloud streaming is terrible
What i dont understand is HOW some people can play it on Xbox, like here, and others cant even load a flight!!?? The poster has 130MB dpwnload speed and ot looks and plaus pretty good, whereas i have a splid 500MB download and cant even load a flight in a Cessna!. I just dont get it.

In-game or in the menu? Trying clicking in the sticks to trigger it or one of the bumpers from what I recall to open the top left panel then you can move over to adjust flight stuff.
@Skycaptin5 during a flight. Just to clarify I’m talking about the menu with the multiple squares in a row. With things like weather, weight, active pause, that stuff.

wait so this is the 4th game I've been looking forward to this year that has a shit and unfinished launch. I was looking forward to Test Drive Solar Crown, Undisputed, Farming Simulator 25 and now this and they have all had horrific launches. Can't developers make a functioning game anymore? This current generation of developers suck ass and can't even do their job and they also lie about their game to hype it up and get people to buy it. I am now dreading Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I love Warhorse Studios but i do not trust them to have a working game on release. My theory is that they put PC first then port it to console without thorough QA testing. Developers suck

Nothing really render server-side it's just that the files that make up the UI like the textures and the polygons and wire frames download on demand instead of being pre downloaded into the computer but it's your CPU and GPU doing the work to create a scene. So definitely the waves are absolutely and completely broken right now. I haven't seen waves animate anywhere not even in Honolulu.
Every time I think I've found a reason to get on the Xbox Series X wagon, I find that Microsoft or the game devs have done some sort of screw up to push me away! Flight Simulator, on of the most asset rich games, totally on the cloud? Really?
The game, on my Series X, is absolutely unplayable garbage. I'm running an ethernet connection with ~700mb/s download speed too. Planes are not rendering in, environment is not rendering in 80% of the time, stuttering during flying, lagging in the main menu, cockpits are just large pixelated blobs, etc. I refunded it earlier today. I'll be back in a month.... maybe. 2020 until then.
@@LCRAVIAT1ON 2020 has run perfectly fine for me, so I have no doubt the Series X can handle it. This is just a colossal failure by the Dev Teams putting out an unfinished product / poor infrastructure. The game will be fine in 6 months, which is how much long they should've taken before they released the game.

why do you launch a non working fs2024 on xbox, have you seeing all the issues people having i purchased a 4k 240 hz monitor for fs2024 and new xbox, the sim is not flyiable the fs support keep closing the ticket with no resolution, building and airplane images and graphics tearing, game crashes mid flight, terrain look like lego and airplances none at major airports like heathrow and they look like paper planes, and you do not refund your customers back for a broken fs2024 '
Ok the game now working properly and now looks absolutely fantastic on Series X! The details on the ground looks unbeliveable good! Everything 3D, grass, trees, animals, brutaly good HDR and visual effects. The resolution also higher, 4K crisp quality. This game will be awesome!

Using the Cloud to render everything is the biggest mistake they made.

I have 100mbit internet playing without any problem all textures are fine for me on high settings on low mid pc

Once the servers have calmed down this game will be playable properly! Should be today or by end the week . Give it time it will be all good!

They do different area scans at different times, as they do world updates every now and then.
Intending on purchasing this soon after Christmas. Really hoping they get the backend/server issues resolved by then, cuz this ain't it. :(

the controls for the xbox came totally different from the 2020 flight sim and it sucks cause rebinding alot of things is gonna be painful. did you had to rebind all of yours or did it came fine?
It seemed okay for me with some minor adjustments. To be fair I filmed this at 5am after a super long day just before sleeping, since that's when it worked. I'm going to have do more adjustments.

Did you rebind your settings, I have a HOTAS and having a heck of a time resetting or binding.
Do you see any other ground crews or aircraft other than the yellow and white generic airbus? Any commercial airplanes with typical logos such as Delta, Southwest, United, UPS etc? It all looks bare and total generic on my xbox. But flights are doing very well, very little stutters and scenery popping.
all cloud driven just means your performance does not matter that much anymore, u just need very good wifi

Question: why is the game toggling my assist settings off when I go into a flight in Free Play? I have Pilot and control tips on and it keeps toggling them off before every flight. I can’t even turn them back on once I get into the flight.

This is my first time ever playing a flight simulation game on Xbox and I am completely lost on the controls of how to fly. Any way you can make a tutorial on all the controls for Xbox?

@@Skycaptin5 This would be HUGE!!!!!! I can't even find any list of the defaults (i have to look section by section to see all the commands and which have been bound) so I can see what has NOT been used, so I can map something new to that combination. For example, I want to add Autopilot to the controller, but don't know the best way to do it because I don't want to create a conflict. I can't believe there isn't just a list of what all has already been enabled on the Xbox controller.

Lots of missing buildings at Seton like the Dollarama and Petland for example.

@@RyanFlyinDrivin found a trick to improve the graphics of the game because, originally, it looks quite bad, even on my Xbox Series X with a 1 Gbps internet connection. I disabled multiplayer in the online settings, as well as real-time traffic and real-time weather. You’ll see that suddenly the game runs much better!

Nice video, I would prefer to have highlighted what are you actually having against the 2020. It is come through a little fuzzy to actually you are awed is from 2024. Most people that is watching this most likely already have the 2020 and are interested in know if it is worth or not buying it.

What i dont understand is HOW some people can play it on Xbox, like here, and others cant even load a flight!!?? The poster has 130MB dpwnload speed and ot looks and plaus pretty good, whereas i have a splid 500MB download and cant even load a flight in a Cessna!. I just dont get it.

Does anyone know how to open the top bar menu and change things like time and weight in a flight?
In-game or in the menu? Trying clicking in the sticks to trigger it or one of the bumpers from what I recall to open the top left panel then you can move over to adjust flight stuff.
@Skycaptin5 during a flight. Just to clarify I’m talking about the menu with the multiple squares in a row. With things like weather, weight, active pause, that stuff.
@@taxiway207 the top right? Start button to pause and you should be able to either use a bumper or stick click to activate those options.

wait so this is the 4th game I've been looking forward to this year that has a shit and unfinished launch. I was looking forward to Test Drive Solar Crown, Undisputed, Farming Simulator 25 and now this and they have all had horrific launches. Can't developers make a functioning game anymore? This current generation of developers suck ass and can't even do their job and they also lie about their game to hype it up and get people to buy it. I am now dreading Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I love Warhorse Studios but i do not trust them to have a working game on release. My theory is that they put PC first then port it to console without thorough QA testing. Developers suck

i don't think the water is rendered server side and it's awful in my rtx 4080 laptop, compared to version 2020.
Nothing really render server-side it's just that the files that make up the UI like the textures and the polygons and wire frames download on demand instead of being pre downloaded into the computer but it's your CPU and GPU doing the work to create a scene. So definitely the waves are absolutely and completely broken right now. I haven't seen waves animate anywhere not even in Honolulu.
Every time I think I've found a reason to get on the Xbox Series X wagon, I find that Microsoft or the game devs have done some sort of screw up to push me away! Flight Simulator, on of the most asset rich games, totally on the cloud? Really?
My brothers thinks Microsoft should give the world duties to Rockstar games since they are the Godfathers of open world games.

The game, on my Series X, is absolutely unplayable garbage. I'm running an ethernet connection with ~700mb/s download speed too. Planes are not rendering in, environment is not rendering in 80% of the time, stuttering during flying, lagging in the main menu, cockpits are just large pixelated blobs, etc. I refunded it earlier today. I'll be back in a month.... maybe. 2020 until then.

@@LCRAVIAT1ON 2020 has run perfectly fine for me, so I have no doubt the Series X can handle it. This is just a colossal failure by the Dev Teams putting out an unfinished product / poor infrastructure. The game will be fine in 6 months, which is how much long they should've taken before they released the game.

why do you launch a non working fs2024 on xbox, have you seeing all the issues people having i purchased a 4k 240 hz monitor for fs2024 and new xbox, the sim is not flyiable the fs support keep closing the ticket with no resolution, building and airplane images and graphics tearing, game crashes mid flight, terrain look like lego and airplances none at major airports like heathrow and they look like paper planes, and you do not refund your customers back for a broken fs2024

Ok the game now working properly and now looks absolutely fantastic on Series X! The details on the ground looks unbeliveable good! Everything 3D, grass, trees, animals, brutaly good HDR and visual effects. The resolution also higher, 4K crisp quality. This game will be awesome!
