Great review as always, Jason. SW UCUF is my favorite bourbon in my collection. After one taste I ran back to my liquor store and bought the other two bottles they had. I've never done that before. It has an incredible balance that nothing else can match (although Belle Meade Reserve comes close). They are knocking it out of the park out there in Vegas.

I have the clear bottle small batch. Would be cool if that becomes a collectors bottle since they only used it because of high demand depleting the amber bottles. Just tried the uncut unfiltered today, and you’re not wrong about that hint of smoke. I don’t get cherries though, but more apple/citrus. Great video.
I love these bourbons, currently have a bottle of the Uncut Unfiltered and its real nice. Their openness is also incredibly cool, they posts vids on their social accounts talking about the blends they're using so they'll say like the 57.3% bottle is a blend of 6-8-13 year barrels.
Please distribute to Louisiana. Southbound Spirits in Pineville La and Hokus Pokus in Alexandria LA are terrific shops that would move your product in minutes. I picked up your small batch and uncut unfiltered in Arkansas on vacation, and it was outstanding. I would always keep my bar stocked with both.
I have seen these bottles sitting on the cask behind you in your past couple posts and had hoped you'd be reviewing them .i haven't tried either of these yet but have heard good things about them and have been considering ordering a couple. After seeing this i will definitely give this a try. Thank you for another great and well timed review.

I don’t think at $79 ( Costco) before taxes for the UCUF is a terrific value as you mention it. I will give it a shot but don’t think it is a value. For me Rare Breed Single Barrel at $55 is a great value - same 58% ABV

Im seeing a decent amount of positive buzz about Smoke Wagon. Staying with MGP... I am interested in seeing more reviews of Old Carter American and Bourbon considering how well received Kentucky Owl was (and seems to still be even without the Carters selecting /blending)

I was hesitant to pick up a bottle of this at first because of the price, BUT I went with the uncut unfiltered and was so glad I did. One of my favorite bottles I have in my collection. May go with a small batch in the future and see if I need to spend the extra $20 moving forward or not.
What would you say when you put uncut smoke wagon side by side with Henry McKenna 10, eagle rare 10, COL EH Taylor small batch, Russell 10, or mid winter night dram?!? I just bought one but I don't wanna open it unless there is someone to drink with. Lol
Great spot on review. Just cracked open the uncut/unfiltered bottle. Tremendous pour. Can’t go wrong with artfully blended MGP and legendary Dave Pickerell heavily involved with their initial development.
If you can get the uncut, unfiltered, this is the one to get, but if you can only get the small batch, get it, but the uncut, unfiltered is the only one I buy, after having all three bottling. Small batch is typically 45 bucks, uncut is about 65 to 70 bucks.
Jason how would you compare the uncut and unfiltered to the 12 year ECBP range? Which one would you prefer if you could only have one?.............cheers!

I just paid $75 for the ECBP A2021 and did find the Uncut Unfiltered back in New York State for $66 but NY has stupid laws and will not send to California where I live. I found it here locally but @ $99 Seems like a lot of distribution is in the New York state which seems strange as Vegas is very close to California where it seems more rare at significantly higher price.
My batch 89 was good, not worth the hype. My buddy's batch 68 was not as good as mine. In my opinion, it's severely overhyped. There's plenty of other bottles I'd pick up before these. I paid $74 and feel that I overpaid.
Do you have any advice on how to learn how to nose Bourbons better? I’m having a hard time finding a variety of smells and I typically have a great sense of smell. I don’t know if that makes any sense but any help would be appreciated
I actually never liked the bottle design - looks like a big turd. But I appreciate tinted whisky bottles because my mini-bar get hit with direct sunlight in the late afternoon, and I know that does slowly degrade the taste. I gotta buy a liquor cabinet - maybe one of those cabinets made from actual barrels, on Etsy.

The uncut unfiltered I feel gets better as you get more air in the bottle. When my bottle was almost half gone I really started to enjoy it.

I wouldn’t waste the money on Kentucky Owl. Old Carter is tasty though.
I haven't tried either of these but I did get my hands on a private barrel (red) and the 10 year Desert Jewel, that was an excellent bourbon.

Still the ecbp. But a few of the uncut unfiltered blends have been right there against it.
