- D bapi biriyani is now a new biriyani lover's place in kolkata. Many one is competing the taste of this biriyani with Dada boudi biryani. We went there and tried the biryani and in this video we'll share our honest view on this.

May be it is those who are staying in Barrackpore and eating it since childhood but i find it same old kolkata biriyani...may be i am judging it as a running customer........and tasted awadhi,hyderbadi flavours thats why.

When I used to live in BKP in 1980_90 there was no craze for biryani , I wonder how the Bengalis nowadays are so ' hangla ' about biriyanis__ fallout of too many Bangladeshi in Bengal
Boss, biriyani was as popular in the 1980s and 90s. Only few places served it, though. As a college student in the mid 1980s, my weekly luxury was a plate of biriyani and a tikia kebab. Used to cost a grand sum of Rs.22.50 along with a cup of milky tea. By the late 80s, with a job under my belt, I used to be a regular at Shiraz. Yes, the smaller towns like Barrackpore or Chuchura did not have biriyani hotels. People would come to Calcutta for it
