When selecting reverse, never do it directly after having had the clutch up in a forward gear and then declutching. How to select reverse: Always press clutch down and go to a forward gear first, because the syncromesh stops the cogs spinning in the transmission. That prevents the KLONK at 34:50, and prolongs gearbox life. (Reverse is not syncronized in these transmissions, and many people have ruined their reverse gear because of it.)
@@busybee2033 That’s so you don’t accidentally shift into reverse at any point, it makes it a deliberate action. All modern standard transmission have some variation of this safety.
How is the reliability? I have a MR2 Spyder but the ride looks much more comfortable in these.. i just don't want the car breaking down, daily driving to college.
Yes, it is, very confortable. It's a '94, last production year only for the cabriolet, but if the maintenance is done on time and you respect it the 900 will last for ever :)

Yeah! You're definitely right, I normally stop it spinning coupling the 4th syncro like at 35'45'' but I'll try your suggestion! Thankyou.

I though that was what the lift ring on stick shift was for you always lift up on that for reverse gear.
Hi all, new clucth kit in place. No more 4th gear before engaging the reverse :)
