Mostly when someone counters what you're doing only to fall into another trap, or when, after being gimmicked to death, you switch to playing "honest" neutral/footsies and they are so worried they make mistake after mistake.
Props to the editor, crazy how he trims 4+ hour streams into vids with no downtime and doesn't interrupt sajam between matches. And time stamping the entire thing as well
Blanka-chan is the gift that keeps on giving. Blanka just kinda works as a lighthearted "joke" character in general (who can apparently still bodies you...as T. Hawk and now Lily mains can attest).
I got some ptsd flashbacks from the guile blanka matchup. From the guile player side. This is my first street fighter so I’m kinda a scrub and my training partner mains blanka and has been playing since sf4. I guess this is karma for him having to deal with my Leo all of strive
So Blanka's upball is weird compared to most anti airs. The i-frames are on the active frames where most dp i-frames are on the start up. This is why you'll lose a lot to jump ins you have to anti air early unlike most characters.

You know a villain is in the making when they just scream out the name of the attacks and says "Skippity woop" when going in on offense. This vid is TOTALLY inside the mind of your average Blanka player.
This video made me go look it up and yeah it looks like up ball isn't nearly as anti air as you'd expect lol the hitboxes just aren't there for it apparently, I just kind of assumed it was as good as Headbutt or Flash Kick
Not only the hitboxes, but it more importantly just straight up doesn't have air invul on startup (it's air invul starts with active frames instead which is weeeird)
Played Blanka for the first time to try to get a more “even” matchup against a friend that just bought SF6. I had to give up on specials and just play neutral because it was too evil even in the hands of a bronze. He unfortunately refunded the game.
to add on he has gotten master on like 4 characters before blanka; and has both experience of fighting blanka in this game and legacy knowledge of the character
You’ll make it out soon.. Just be patient and wait for opponent to hang themselves. Try react to Di, try to anti air and lastly try not to jump too much. Unless it’s going to be a crossup. You got this 💪🏾💪🏾
Blanka and Sim might be the least picked characters, but it's not because they're bad. Blanka is absolutely disgusting and Sim is one of few characters who have multiple Masters in the top 10 on the global leaderboard.
I’m quite bad at sf6 so my main casts are usually in plat. But then my blanka get into mid diamond without knowing a combo other than hp lie down is a crime and I confess
Things Sajam looks for on a new character: what do I do off my lights, what's my antiair, what do I hit when I knock them down? Things I look for on a new character: which color looks coolest?
Honestly in my area people are waaay better interrupting blanka balls with anti-airs than these folks. Also most of my contenders play rushdown ken and turtle guile.
