      simple while backing straight, hand on top of the steering wheel if you see your rear trailer come to the left turn your steering wheel left. Always keep ahead of it and the offset an alley dock are the exact opposite. So if you want your trailer to come to the left into the alley you start to jack it with your steering wheel going clockwise to the right and then as soon as the trailer starts responding follow which means go the opposite way. You can jacket either way you can follow it either way

Circle check,drop and hook,straight backing,paralelle parking ,and the ally dock. After which the inspector takes you on the road .The tests aren't hard but those cones get mighty brittle when it gets cold .

Remember the way your steering wheel is turned.Then look @ your right and left mirrors remember what you see. You should see the same on each. side. Then you will know the tractor trailer is straight. If. you do the alley dock . Remember the way you turned the steering wheel to get between the cones. Then remember the way the steering wheel is turned to go straight back. ✌️✌️👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂

I move 75-100 trailers a day and faster then this guy just sayin no disrespect. No damages to any trailers in 5.5 yrs 2 yrs on the road I help drivers almost daily parking so your choice to take the advice...keep on trucking.

      @@wvusmc I'm 17 and never ever driven a truck before. So go ahead and ignore this because maybe you think I wouldn't know. But, perhaps, here is the easy way. At 1:38 of the video. When going from the straight maneuver to the backing up to the right hand side maneuver. Step 1 as you see in video: Drive tractor trailer in straight line and when the trailer passes the last bit of cones, steer right, and then when trailer is lined up with truck, steer left. Step 2 then would be reverse the wheel right which the trailer would be going right, then quickly steer left after as the trailer and rig will now oppose in opposite directions causing an unhitch. Step 3, select drive and steer in straight line again until trailer is all lined with the tractor. Now get out and examine how much space and clearance is left between cones and trailer. Step 4, reverse in straight line and steer very slowly to the left and then when trailer is then maneuvering between the cones, steer right to then straighten the truck with the trailer. Then continue backing straightly. Overview: In a less complicated manner: Always drive away to create the space by driving away from the parking space. Then Reverse by steering truck in the direction you want to go, the slower the better as you can then steer the other direction to straighten the trailer without unhitching due to unsafely backing quickly. Then drive up again in straight line, this time after steering opposing direction, and straighten the maneuver of the turn, after, the angle should be all set to back in straight line! I hope this gives a vivid image and helps!

    I thought our drive test was hard here in Ontario. We only have to do one maneuver and that is a 90° backup. I definitely would not want to be testing in your area.
    Also, our fail rates here on your first test are roughly 70%. I can't imagine what your first drive test fail rates are.

    OTR truck stops are like 10x harder than passing the DMV test lol

    • @happypappy6371
      @happypappy6371 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Yeah, if you mess up here, it is only a cone or two that gets squashed. in the truck stop it is a fender or hood. And half of the drivers there don't park straight either.

    • @antdx316
      @antdx316 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was going to setup some mini cones but I left OTR before I could set them up lol. If you can see the mini cones and your tandem axles being close to them you know there is no way you will hit the other trucks backing it in properly around them. I would set them up every time to be safe but those drivers are "God" destined to be OTR. Some had a little bit of an issue but very rare. They still pocketed it in.

    • @sleazyfellow

      It's random from what I hear, and I think 90° are out of the test, it's straight line, off set and parallel now.

    Three of us tested this week and all three of us had different maneuvers. We all had straight-back and offset parking, but I had alleydock as my final maneuver and another guy had sightside parallel and the other dude had blindside parallel. Does every state do it differently?
