Another great review. I noticed you use a reel that you have had for while. Would you recommend pairing the rod with the Silver Feather reel you used in the video or would you go for something different? I may buy this rod but would like to create a matching outfit. Targeting Bream and Bar tail Flathead, so not particularly big species. I'll be mostly using small soft plastics. Any thoughts or recommendations. Thanks
@@yep.fishing Thanks mate I will look into it. I have given your channel a huge shout out on my upcoming BFS video. Will be uploaded tonight. Hope that's ok ?
11+1 guides! 7'6" wow thats a really nice speced rod. I have a similar rod I often cast more than it's rated, but it's all in the technique as well as i am only lobbing it 10-15m. No way would i want to overload and try to cast out max distance. The longer the rod usally have a larger weight casting range. The length can slow the action down, making the tip less likely to brake. Deppends on how they taper and how fast the action is. The action looked pretty fast on that little pinky. A good start for the young fella to have fun 👍.
This rod seems to be trying so hard that it ends up being confused with itself. Looking for a 7’6” trout friendly BFS stick and it looks like this one is also a miss.
@ if it can cast up to 18 grams then it’s too heavy. Trout rods should be preferably slow taper, regular/medium taper maybe. Anything fast is off the cards. So that’s what I want. And something that is max 10 gram cast weight, down to 2 grams (not too much to ask for). From 7’ to 7’6” long. It’s a rational spec, but probably considered too niche for the manufacturers.
Try the tsurinoya elf ajing, it’s not slow but medium. High casting weight range can mean the tonnage and wrapping of the carbon is high. If you are happy with 7ft then the Acehawk AG Venom should be perfect. It’s almost parabolic
If you click on that link, you can see other models, they have a more reasonable lure weight range, up to 8 g. I see there are a couple 2 piece models that are shorter. I bet that handle grip is really comfortable, look at the bulge in the cork. And compare that grip to the skinny, uncomfortable grip that the Loomis IMX Pro has.

Found you through Facebook, excellent review, it looks amazing.
Glad you liked it, let me know what you think if you end up buying it.
Nice video and great job! I like very much the Casting Weight and the carbon colour ! Nice choice my friend! ✌👌👍😀
Thanks, but now I don’t know which is my favourite long rod
@@yep.fishing I think that you are between TSU elf and this, right?
well the purelure zero was actually my favourite, I also like the Tsurinoya Fox Hunting. They are all different and serve their own purpose.
My purelure wild has the range from 2,5 to 20 gramms
That’s awesome, I will check it out. But what lengths do them have? From memory not as long
@yep.fishing that's true, it's only 1,98m
Might make for the perfect boat rod for me
Looks a lot nicer than the two new Fenwick UL casting rods that are 7 1/2’ . I wonder if the end of the tip is solid graphite, some are like that.
Yes it’s solid Carbon tip. Hopefully they can offer replacement tips too, I may enquire about that

This reel right now is the best bang for buck especially for this rod. $300 or so for this combo

The link title says Reel and not Rod - a bit confusing.
Fixed, thanks!
Lurestar needs their own page. The rods are not easy to get.
I get a feeling they are not making new rods anymore. Just a theory but maybe Purelure bought a lot of their stock and are clearing it.
You got a lot of unboxing stuff I wonder what ya man cave looks like.
I do sell off stuff that doesn’t make it into the rotation. Lots of different fishing options s around here so need variety too.
@yep.fishing true ima start selling some of my stuff.
Kinda hard in this niche. Atleast you have e brand name stuff. In Australia everyone loves the big 2

Yea it’s the best speced rod out of the 5 casting rods over 7ft that I have. Not sure if it’s my favourite though, I like them all
i got the Zero ZR-812LS, for it's price the quality is very very good.
great, I forgot the spin model came in that length!
Yes, portuguese cork is the best 😎
That’s what she said

Not sure what you mean? What are you looking for in a BFS trout rod?
