Why aren't these guys the biggest band in the world? It's 2021. The marketing department at their label needs a beating. Shameful. These guys should be dominating pop charts, country charts and AOR rock charts. It's just simply not acceptable.
My husband who was a lead guitar in several local rock bands would've truly appreciated the Fantastic guitar work here ...HATS OFF GUYS ...TALK ABOUT GETTING IT DONE HE WOULD'VE LOVED YOU GUYS😘
Awesome song and the coolest thing about it is how the outro guitar solo re-tells the same story as the lyrics do in the first half of the song: the guitar solo eases in just as the lyrics describe first falling for the person in the first verse, then the solo establishes the joyful motif to represent being with the person like the chorus describes, then there's the lull of the time away from the person slowly building into the tension of whether or not to go back, like second verse describes, and finally ending back at the happy motif of going back to the person. Just an incredibly thoughtful and immaculately crafted solo that fits the song perfectly.
That guitar solo from 3:32 onward is absolutely INCREDIBLE...simply out of this world AWESOME! I understand why they do it, but it's a shame the radio opted for the shortened version that ends without the solo, because the song is simply not the same without it. In my opinion it's truly the best part of the song.
thanks for the shortcut. 2:52 gives it more meat. After hearing the radio edit for years, this one is past words its so good. I love when the instrumental sounds so different and distant that you start trying to remember what song you're listening to in the 4:00, then it just builds until 5:00 where everything is suddenly back on track. It feels like going home.
One of the best songs that's been played on modern country radio. I'm not necessarily a country person, but music that exemplifies talent is worthy of praise. This is one of those songs. I'm sick of hearing country pop clap tracks. I come back to this one once in a while, and as a matter of fact, it's the first time I've heard the uncut version, and it's giving me Goddamn chills.
for the last ten years, I have gradually and cautiously gotten back in touch with my country music roots. My interests are narrow, everything I like is heavily rock and roll influenced, and I won't even pretend I have a "country background." But whThat en I hear things like this, I just soar. What I want from all music I like, any genre, is a sense of wild freedom and a visceral experience of "realness" - that the song contains something that speaks directly to my experience. From its cautious but optimistic opening bars, to it's final satisfied and wild conclusion, this song makes me happy. Deep, abiding, liberating happy. Everything about it makes me feel like everything will be alright. Also? That solo, tho. Wow. Thank you thank you thank you thank you for giving me this song.
I have been a fan of them since I was 11 years old. In 2016, My grandpa died, and little did I know, I started to listen to these guys, I'm so happy I did, they are an amazing duo and I am so phucking proud of TJ for coming out, he gave me another reason to love Brothers Osborne! I'm now sixteen going to be seventeen next March, All I want for my birthday/Christmas this year is their Pawn shop album and Skeletons that all I want
I JUST LOVE THIS SONG, LOVE THE SOLO GUITAR, LOVE ,LOVE IT, NEVER GET TIRED OF COMING HERE JUST TO LISTEN, ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU CAN'T HEAR THIS ON THE RADIO!!!!
Reminds me of the good times I had with my supervisor Laurie in Winchester Virginia... Thanks for all of the kindness you showed me. I will never forget you.
so glad they jam this at the end. I was thinking they should in the radio version and the fact that I now heard a version with them actually soloing and jamming this song makes me happy
+SuperHippi101 I heard this version today on an internet jukebox at a bar. I'm not a country fan but the solo work of the guitar in this version impressed me so much that I've listened to it several times. To hear that this version is not on the radio is a bit disappointing. (Again, I never listen to country radio.)
Got to open for these guys at The Grizzly Rose back in May. Super cool guys...and I cannot get this song out of my head :) Love this extended version. John sounds exactly like it live! Keep up the good work, guys!
today we want to label all our music...country,pop.rap.classic.jazz...I'm all our classification we forgot about rock and roll....I'm an older fellow been listening a long time...there are song in all genders that cross all lines...its called rock and roll...songs you sing along with....crank up..this is one if those songs
Introduced to them opening for Darius Rucker and this song was absolutely phenomenal live (as you could imagine with an extended version)! Vocals, guitar solo, drums - as great as Darius is live this song may have stole the concert!
I don't think I'll ever get sick of hearing this song. It has a catchy beat and the classic solo at the end. I've loved it since I first heard it and I loved it even more when I heard the CD version with the longer solo.
Saw these guys a couple of years ago. Show was great! My favorite song is Shoot Me Straight. Im a Maryland native too. Beer & crabs. Oh yeah! Stay safe & God bless!
Something like a strong wind is coming over me It's got a hold of me, yeah Thinking and doing things I shouldn't be I really shouldn't be Give it one more call It's one more "whatcha doin right now?" It's one more trip to my side of town and you walk right in One more here we go again One more drink leads to another You slide up close to me Tear the t-shirts off each other Your hands all over me I tell myself I'm not in love But one more time is not enough One last kiss and then you're a goner And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer So calm and so cool, yeah I try to be Like it don't bother me The last time was the last time Until I'm all alone and I'm picking up the phone One more call It's one more "whatcha doin right now?" It's one more trip to my side of town and you walk right in One more here we go again One more drink leads to another You slide up close to me Tear the t-shirts off each other Your hands all over me I tell myself I'm not in love But one more time is not enough One last kiss and then you're a goner And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer One more drink leads to another You slide up close to me Tear the t-shirts off each other Your hands all over me I tell myself I'm not in love But one more time is not enough One last kiss and then you're a goner And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer Stay a little longer Wishing you could stay a little longer...
When I first heard this song on the radio, I thought it was Brad Paisley playing the solo because he likes to use a lot of the lower strings in his solos and playing.
Man, I was moving away from country... ya'll got me hopeful. Love, heartbreak, whiskey, fighting. It doesn't get any better than that. Paycheck, Jennings, Haggard, Cash, they'd agree... Thanks men, don't stop.
I had a bad breakup and this is the song that was playing all the time when we would meet to hookup for the few months until it finally ended. So I guess it has gooood and sad memories!

I'm still trying to learn it. I already know half of it.
Bahah I laughed out loud from reading your comment and also completely agree !!
That guitar solo from 3:32 onward is absolutely INCREDIBLE...simply out of this world AWESOME!

Money...404
@Stephen O'Donnell Sadly I bet that's essentially exactly how the conversation must have went.
@@dexm2010 digital killed the radio period.
thanks for the shortcut. 2:52 gives it more meat.

One of the best solos to close ever
Bobby Osborne
Rock in Paradise 🕊
The vocals too this song need to stay a little longer

That solo, tho. Wow.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you for giving me this song.
That's what music is supposed to do. To have your emotions moved to tears, be it happiness, joy, or sadness.
Well said. I hope you still love this song. Great music.
Same here. I'm coming up on 60 and know a lot of songs so I'm picky about which ones I give my time to. This one gives me "that feeling".
Took the time read your comment mate... you should check out Cody Jinks.
I get a sneaking suspicion you'll like what you hear...
q
Wow...I wish the radio wouldn't cut out awesomeness like the last half of this song. Real tasty playing. Had Keith Urban written all over it.
And Brad Paisley ;)
I'd say it's got John Osborne written all over it...
This is truly a sensual song. Whomever you love, play this.
The lyrics than with that guitar solo at the end! AMAZING!!
To me it’s about hooking up. One is falling in love and the other isn’t…
I get the same vibe. And we know which one we are.
I have been a fan of them since I was 11 years old.

Best shredder in country since Paisley hands down.
Dont forget hunter hayes and Keith urban, they can shred
Ever heard of sturgill Simpson? Lol
Greatest love story ever
Man this doesn't get old.
that guitar solo though...
SO BADASS!
It soars.
I hate that the radio version cuts it off! such a soulful solo, you don't hear enough of that these days.
yeah, man, it's like that Tele is a third arm
I like how they slammed a commercial right in the middle of it.
The first guitar solo.... is my favorite ever sound. Love it 🙏🏻
IDK who writes their guitar solos but that person is a genius with great taste imo
I could listen to just the guitar solo on repeat
I do over and over

Basically the best music I've heard in decades.
This is my #1 go-to cardio song. The ending just kills me! LOVE IT!
so glad they jam this at the end. I was thinking they should in the radio version and the fact that I now heard a version with them actually soloing and jamming this song makes me happy

The lead at 2.52 is so true craftsmanship. More please.
P.S. I'm a great grandma who REALLY loves her R&R and jazz, but there really is some GREAT country music out there!
Nice to see a hip Grammy.

The only time I went to Nashville, the cover band at the restaurant was playing this song. Entertaining stuff
as soon as I hear the intro I smile. AWESOME song!!!! and of course guitar. :)

Introduced to them opening for Darius Rucker and this song was absolutely phenomenal live (as you could imagine with an extended version)! Vocals, guitar solo, drums - as great as Darius is live this song may have stole the concert!

It's 2018 and I am not tired of this jam.
2019 and still love it
2021 still here
Something like a strong wind is coming over me
It's got a hold of me, yeah
Thinking and doing things I shouldn't be
I really shouldn't be
Give it one more call
It's one more "whatcha doin right now?"
It's one more trip to my side of town and you walk right in
One more here we go again
One more drink leads to another
You slide up close to me
Tear the t-shirts off each other
Your hands all over me
I tell myself I'm not in love
But one more time is not enough
One last kiss and then you're a goner
And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer
So calm and so cool, yeah I try to be
Like it don't bother me
The last time was the last time
Until I'm all alone and I'm picking up the phone
One more call
It's one more "whatcha doin right now?"
It's one more trip to my side of town and you walk right in
One more here we go again
One more drink leads to another
You slide up close to me
Tear the t-shirts off each other
Your hands all over me
I tell myself I'm not in love
But one more time is not enough
One last kiss and then you're a goner
And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer
One more drink leads to another
You slide up close to me
Tear the t-shirts off each other
Your hands all over me
I tell myself I'm not in love
But one more time is not enough
One last kiss and then you're a goner
And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer
Stay a little longer
Wishing you could stay a little longer...

Amazing solo in the end, that solo reminds me of Keith Urban playing!!! :-)
exactly thats what i thought too. i love keith and wish he'd cover this song
When I first heard this song on the radio, I thought it was Brad Paisley playing the solo because he likes to use a lot of the lower strings in his solos and playing.
Anshul Mangla

Tasty*
The lyric are spot on
This particular guitar..wow,; he really shreds..I can listen to him strum all day
One of my all time favorites. Thanks for sharing and the memories!!!!
LOving this longer version! Thank you for "staying a little longer", guys! ;)
I don't know if anyone noticed...but that guitar solo is killer
They said the reason you don’t here this version on the radio is because “it’s long as shit so we had to cut it down”.
"And I'm here wishing you could stay a little longer"
From Italy....Marvellous!
Very under rated band
Man, I was moving away from country... ya'll got me hopeful. Love, heartbreak, whiskey, fighting. It doesn't get any better than that. Paycheck, Jennings, Haggard, Cash, they'd agree... Thanks men, don't stop.
Wow. I hope they recieved many awards and recognition so rightly deserved.. unfortunately it took me way to long to discover this song..
the guitar is great...but the drummer is totally awesome....from beginning to end
Do you play drums too
So good
He’s from Meridian, Ms (where I’m from). His name is Adam Box.
He is good..
No I don't play drums..wish I could...was a truck driver ...listened to music (most types)all the time....this is what I call trucking music
Terrific lyrics and melody. Tasty electric guitar solo also at the end.
Back in 60
Shoot me straight maid me realize how amazing these guys are! Now all I need is for them to do a show with Eric Church in Georgia or close by
Rye Thx
