    You had me, up until the brewer's hat. Go Cubs.
    Thank you for a thoughtful, well-reasoned explanation of self-diagnosing arm pain/discomfort. Well done sir.

      I'm actually not a fan of any team; I just try to mix it up on the Hats - have a black Orioles (best logo, I'm from Maryland), Nationals (I live in DC) and Brewers (cool logo). Nationals hat fits the best, so I wear it the most. Thanks for the comment!

    I tend to get bicep and forearm pain on the outside of my bicep and forearm. I hear people get it on the inside but it’s the opposite for me and I can’t figure out why

    Hi Dan! I am a coach for 12 and under girls. I have been watching you for a couple weeks now on your throwing videos. They have gotten me interested the proper mechanics of throwing. I am curious if you have a video or can make a video explaining the actual releasing motion? What should the hand, wrist, arm and shoulder should be doing? I may be over thinking what it should be doing but I have a couple players where when they release the ball, their hand/forearm almost twists all the way out where their hand is facing externally. (not sure if you understand that) Does this matter? Any help would be nice! Also, do you have a video of small quick progression drills to make sure the girls mechanics advance throughout the season?

      Hi Briana! This video deals with the wrist snap and release: th-cam.com/video/hBLclydYkT4/w-d-xo.html In short, I dont think there's that much to coach about the release - all the work is done by that point. As for progressions, I don't have any progressions on TH-cam - they're all in my paid throwing course, She's Got a Cannon. Thanks for watching! -db

    Hey Dan, quick question is there I way I can still help my arm recover when not being able to take a week or 2 weeks off?

    Thanks for the video. This is the first time my daughter has really played softball; she’s 12 and made her MS team. Her main sport is field hockey I noticed she’s more of a side-arm thrower as I was. Have you noticed side-arm throwers having more pain issues in their arms? Just curious. Thx

      Im not sure more sidearmers have pain, but at younger levels sidearm throwing motions tend to be caused more from overall throwing mechanics flaws rather than by choosing sidearm.

    This is my first year of softball and last weekend i had five games in one day for a tournament. For like a week straight my arm and elbow was absolutely killing me to the point where i couldn’t sleep without an ice pack on it and the day after the tournament i couldnt raise my elbow above my shoulder. Could this just be from overuse and not being used to throwing so much or should i go to a doctor? Im an outfielder so i have to be able to do long throws. Since then my elbow has gotten better but it starts hurting again with each game i play

    Constantly, my forearm hurts after throwing. I only throw when the season is on going.

    • @SnapSoftball

      you need to see a doctor. thats not normal, and not good.

      @@SnapSoftball it doesn’t hurt all year. It only hurts when I throw. I should still see a doctor?

    • @SnapSoftball
      @SnapSoftball  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes. find one who specializes with baseball players - look up the local D1 university and find out who their team doctor is, or the local pro baseball team.

    we throw harder than 47 miles an hour over hand not every softball player is a pitcher and they still throw upper 50s to 60s we aren’t 13 anymore

      funny - I took my radar gun to a 16U tryout years ago and dozens of girls were throwing below 50mph. So you're telling me the $750 radar gun was broken? Most players dont throw close to 60, sorry. If this upsets you, get to work rather than complaining.
