Hands down my dude you're my favorite photographer! For the past few months ive fallen out of love with photography 😔 major self doubt and imposter syndrome but your videos have really helped me to pick up the camera again. Thank you Grainydays if I ever get half as good as you, I'll be one content human ❤
I’ve just finished watching every single one of these here grainy days. Even that hour long Iceland one, with too many waterfalls. And the ‘interviews’. (Meaningful look to camera.) In some alternate universe, there’s a whole channel with Ten Questions victims. When you find that particular wormhole, pull me in. So anyway, thank you Jason. I need to go sell my furniture. Film will never die. It’ll just keep eating people’s souls, and living in the shadows. As I now will, also. Peace. I love you.
I think is safe to say that Rollei Crossbird is the most badass name for a film stock out there. It also conjures images of someone crossing their arms and flipping me off with both hands. Crossing the bird, if you will. The shots look sick!
"Super orange-yellow crunchy dried cat-piss vibe". You've the literary skills of Joyce, Hemingway, and Shakespeare. Just kidding. But you're definitely a master of snark, something I highly value. And that transition to the Squarespace plug? WhooEee. Must have taken hours to think that up.
I have been using Crossbird for many years and still have a stash in the freezer. As you point out, this is a E-6 film, not C-41. When it first came out, it was marketed as an E-6 film and was not called Crossbird. I looked for any old canisters of it to get the specifics of the original packaging, but could not find any. My suspicion is that sales were originally poor, so Rollei rebranded it. Many people are afraid of E-6 as they believe it is "hard to use". Also, cross processing is a real hipster sort of thing. As for the film with the yellow cast you like, it was sold under various names. Lomography repackaged it and it was also sold as ReraChrome. I have a bunch of the ReraChrome as it was one of the few films available in 127. More power to you if you like it. I shoot it with a blue color correcting filter which gets rid of the cap piss vibe.
@3:49 It's more amazing that any of us film geeks ever managed to get laid, let alone find a girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse. Seriously, loved the shots and your in-video spot for Square Space makes Rudy Giuliani's UFO/MyPillow/MyBlanket/MySlippers spot look like an effort from Four Seasons Landscaping. I shot Agfachrome back in the days when I had hair, and I'm going to look for some at my local thrift shops. I expect it will be five dollars. Andy
Was wanting a proper demonstration of crossbird in e6. It's about half the price of any other slide film in the UK. Only problem is it will be even harder to find now
Cool vid I use to shoot Agfa 200 Chrome... it has a very cool look, the colours are mute, more illustrative in look... also Konica 200 E6 centuria was a very cool color rich film... back in the day there were many stocks... all gone now. But Im interested in this Rollei Crossbird as its still available in NZ ...Thanks for the vid
Rollei also has Chrome CR 200, which I know is old Agfa slide film (Agfa RSX II 200). I wonder if it is the same stock as Crossbird? In any case, nearly all of the current Rollei film stocks are just rebranded Agfa films, whether it is colour or black and white film.
Hey, I have a question about these awesome parallax effect images at the end of your videos. What kind of sorcery is this? Do you use a specific AE plugin?
This could be expired Fuji Sensia film, which was super popular to cross process. It looks exactly like crossbird in C41 and was also re-branded as Agfa Precisa after Agfa went down.
I liked the shots. An interesting palette. And yes, the Fuji blimp is cool. But on to important things. Baxter is okay, right? I mean he's not sick or anything, right?
Bro..never change!! hahaahahha I love your videos! Thank for never taking this shit too real. You're an okay photographer (kidding, you suck!) Kidding kidding, your awesome
This is some of your best work to date. Your composition is great.
Baxter needs to stop letting his cameraman/editor appear so much in his videos.
Baxter's appearences:
- NONE 00:14
Our hearts are break...
See ya next time.
Thanks a lot bitch
Easiest unsubscribe I've ever done.
Just Unwatched the whole video
@@hi_c.v7289 be careful
I love how the only print available is the toilet one, the best one of course

The entire set of images here are insaneo style. Love how the blues balance the golden light, and that sharpness 👌

The shots look sick!
I love the part where it looks like you are taking a picture of the girl and then the camera pans to the umbrella
Umbrella perv.
Solid as always! Also I am in favor of bringing the Fuji Blimp back.

Hey, glad to see you got around to doing this one! Sorry for getting your hopes up. I still have to shoot my second roll some time..
No Baxter = no like. JKjkjk this video was killer as always Jason! Beautiful images!
That effect at the end was so dope
That roll of Rollei Variochrome in my fridge is probably the rarest thing I own
These are some of your best photos
such beautiful photos. 😍 i've been trying to get the 35mm version for 2 years. now i want crossbird even more!
A very simple inexpensive crackin' good video. Thank you for showing us California.
Oh thank you god for another grainydays video
i knew there'd be another grainydays episode today i could feel it in my balls

They were tingling all day
@@Chris_vK thats too far weirdchamp

I find your videos way more interesting than Verbeeck's, you still the LA grainy hotshot 😍
i love the shots from this film and what you did in the processing
7:00 ah yes. Technically part of Jason's signature "Toilet Photography"
Dry humor is the best humor. Thank you.
I’ve never been more interested in the chemical science behind developing film than right now, thank you

hey! do you recommend shooting at 100 or 200? package says 100 if developed in E-6. 🤔
I’m a simple man; Jason posts, I click.
yo that ending animation, I see you 👀 so sick!
You’re a credit to your craft dude! Really love watching your videos.

Also I gotta say, I love your remarks with the sort of monotone voice!

Bro I was just there on Tuesday! Went to El Matador then Nicholas beach. Love the sunsets there
messes up metering...exposes film at box speed for first time ever...lol Enjoyed the vid as always!
I just found some rolls in the older packaging. It was called Rollei Chrome CR 200.
It’s always nice to watch a grainydays vid
yesss I've been waiting for this. Thanks homie
Edit: 6:10 croc shot
I’m glad you finally tried it.
Cool vid

As Confucius said “When a wise man points at the moon, Jason shoots the finger” 😆
6:11 the guy in the water being sus lol
The Fuji Blimp is an essential to the grainydays brand
Love Leo Carrillo 👌🏽
Leo Carillo loves you
The Makina is back :D
It’s kinda cool that we can see your ankles in almost every video.
Yes he's back!
Watching this just while waiting for my first Crossbird come back from its E6 bath. Curious to see if it comes looking any similar to yours.
I slammed my iPad 38 times when Jason said no Baxter, you owe me a new iPad Jason I don’t make the rules

Lol'd hard at that guy taking a dump. But then I looked down and I realised _I_ am taking a sh*t too. Damn you
i jumped when he swung the camera.
don’t scare me like that man.
Dis the Groove
More videos plss. I am in lockdown and only you videos can cure my boredom :D
this video made me buy guava la Croix and I can confirm its good at filling the void created when baxter isn't in the video

me: YEAH, new Grainydays video
also me at 0:14: Let's get the fuck out of here
Yo, it's always nice to see your videos.
Like every other video, I now want to buy a medium format camera. Plus that film
Looks like Ektachrome shot through a really yellowed Pentax 67's 105mm radioactive lens
“Everything good in life is a double stroke.” Best advice given by grainydays.
Finally, I have been waiting for this for a long time...
This video made me want to shoot again. It's been a few weeks. Great content as always.

Chris is totally secretly Jack Antonoff! I'd put my money on it!
I LOVE THE FUJI BLIMP, also, great pics 👌
"Everything good in life is a double stroke."
Enough said.......
That hector guy has some great photos on his Instagram 👌
So glad Logic made to the thumbnail
Still can't believe you wore your shirt inside out that whole time. 😂
shouts out to eBay, savior of all things cheap and weird for photography
Didn’t even miss Baxter “the magical potato unicorn”.
01:06 c'mon man that's Luke Skywalker 😂😂
“Everything good in life is a double stroke.” Very wise words
Killing it
I really like well-produced monotone delivery, so (subscribed). The photos were great too. Keep using that film.
11:18 reminds me very much of edward hopper
Seems like a cool film stock
The dude sitting on the cliff with crocs on looks like Diplo.
11:19 has someone shot ektarchrome with a warming filter? If so, were the results similar to this?
I thought the look was cool. Only issue now is the E6 processing, like hear in Tx you have no options. Gotta send it to Denver
6:22 I like this!!!!
How I wish to have purchased more of Variochrome 😞
I liked the shots. An interesting palette. And yes, the Fuji blimp is cool. But on to important things. Baxter is okay, right? I mean he's not sick or anything, right?
Anyone notice Jason's watch @ 2:53 ? His watch is just like his cameras: vintage, analog, and beautiful.
Major wristwatch flexing 3:00
I used Provia expired in 2007 once and it had really similar results
new grainydays video? say less
Rollei suggests shooting at iso 100 if you want that orange look.
« baxter doesn’t appear in this video »
Me: okay I’m leaving
DQ shot at 9:53 is insane.
Bring back the blimp!
Mumford and Son's x grainydays coming soon? 👀
What I don't understand is why someone would be a Chronograph watch without any actual marking on it. WTF man. BTW love your videos. 👌✔😀
Please release the guava La Croix review next.
My Rollei Crossbird done in E6 looked nothing like Variochrome tbh.
🔥🔥🔥
Bro..never change!! hahaahahha I love your videos! Thank for never taking this shit too real. You're an okay photographer (kidding, you suck!) Kidding kidding, your awesome
11:40 how’d you do that 3D effect???
@okami too much work for 2 seconds of footage
It's pronounced "Roll-eye" or "Roll-i" btw. Awesome video as always!
Hard to find? Like here in Serbia its cheap af, Rollie Crossbird is like 8$ a roll and its always in stock
