The way you incorporate your family into these videos is awesome it looks like you guys really have a lot of fun doing this. I agree with you about the material not being durable as it could be. If it's not ready for a category 5 hurricane it's not all American prepper approved. That said this was an awesome review I think between me you living survival, dropforgesurvival and a couple others we've done a pretty thorough test of this product. Good to see you back in Action brother hope to see you in more videos take care
Thanks a bunch man. Yeah, A.A.P. most likely requires Kevlar for the fabric of an umbrella. It's always fun bringing family and friends into the video. I think it helps remove the stigma of us all being a bunch of wacko Preppers. We're all just normal people who have an interest in preparedness. Thanks for initially showing this product to the world! Please give A.A.P. my warm regards.
I like how representative the testing in demonstrating the force multiplier. It is always nice to see how something handles in the hands of an average-sized woman.
Thanks Alicia! I think this would be a great item for a woman and I wanted to be sure to show it used by one in this video. This umbrella could be a great equalizer against any one. The handle is no joke.
maybe it sounds a bit daft.... but I'd like to see how well the fabric stands up to (as a splash guard at least) stands up to chemicals like bleach and drain unblocker.
LOVED that you included your family in the video. I think it’s important to show how the whole family should be involved in prepping. One con that could be added is that carrying it is truly weather dependent. You’d stand out like a sore thumb on a sunny day. Some of your cons hinted at this, but I thought it was worth listing separately. Keep up the great work!
I loved the video and how you tested it with the family as part of the overall test - My question is when does Tactical Temptress get one? She was pretty impressed and you could see the wheels spinning after she demolished the coconut! Great review as always and I know I want one now!
Great to see the return of the Tactical Temptress. Does she still use her EDC? You should have her do an EDC DUMP and share how she used the items. The umbrella was good too. Saw it already on both Canadian Prepper and Drop Forge.
Good idea! It's been a while since we've checked out her latest EDC. I'll work on scheduling it. Drop Forge also had a great video on this umbrella! His wife looks like a badass!
Pro Tip: All the technical specifications are in the German version. Just load the page, then use a translator, like Google's tool. It's not perfect, but it will give you very detailed information, and if you have a handy metric to messed-up measurements conversion ("English" or American feet, inches, ounces and pounds.) Some of the german videos showed how to use the carry strap too, as well as a lot of self defense methods. Not nearly as fun as your video, but detail rich. Thanks for the wonderful review.
Have you ever thought of trying " survival tabs"? They were designed for the early space program, but are now popular with, preparedness. The come in chocolate, vanilla, malt flavor and strawberry flavors. They seem to be easier to eat than the bars you've eaten.
Thanks! Glad you mentioned the concerns about being disarmed and having it used against you, something that the addition of a lanyard would mitigate against. Fun video!!
If only California wasn’t in a biblical stile drought I’d buy one... just the joy of saying I own an actual tactical umbrella would be enough for me. I can’t believe that worked should be their motto!!!
I think you sold me just the fact that we buy so many not so well made umbrellas that it’s better to buy just one good one! The security aspect is a benefit. Thanks!
Sweet! I agree. I feel slightly safer walking in the city when I have this in hand. Costa Rica is probably much more intense though compared to Seattle!
TheUrbanPrepper not really. Was pretty safe but I'm a big fella. Was like secretly carrying a hardwood beating stick though. Always carry a folder blade when I travel but this was in my hand and felt powerful as a primary weapon. It's great they offered lessons with the purchase, this thing will kill if required, love that you involve your family in you preps 👍🏽
Love it! getting two. Adding a rubber grip to the handle to make it more difficult to take away. A great, non-lethal addition to my Glock 27 Gen IV. Thanks!
Hard to carry in Arizona. So along w/ other things I now use a cane when we go out, as I had back surgery, so a big excuse...Ya. I also took many hours training w/ local karate studio, and now weekly one hour.
I may never buy a umbrella but I’ll always remember the pitch man! That was so fun I watched twice! Looks like you’re getting taken to yard! Hey maybe you could get a sickle as attachments for the umbrella! (I need one for a snow shovel!) That’s entertainment folks, thanks!
Living in a tropical country i do have reasons to carry it everyday everywhere. Too sunny? Generally safe, will protect me from the sun. Rainy? Safe crimewise, will protect me from the rain. Neither? Closed and ready to clobber any problem
The “...primary beat down item”. Oh, man! I 😂. Thank you for the introduction to this item. I definitely would like one. Awesome video. Oh, we missed you at SHOT Show.
I was reviewing some of your old videos and noticed something about the gloves in your kits, especially the emergency hi-rise kit used for workplace emergency evacuation. The gloves seem to be made of a material that easily melts. My concern is the gloves melting to your hands during a fire. It appeared that the material on the back of the hands may be made of a petroleum based substance. My brother was severely burned during an industrial accident and it was the material from his gloves and clothing that melted to his body that caused the most severe damage. You may want to consider gloves made of a hide or cotton material to further protect your hands. Take care. Beverly
It was a lot of fun to make this video. Thanks for watching, Jay! As Scott mentioned, we've been knee deep in home renovations for several months. It's thrown off my TH-cam video production time, but it's starting to get better.
Good stuff. I’ve been looking at one of these for a while. By the way, today you were on VICE on the Snapchat news. Loved your take and I think you represented the community well. So did Canadian Prepper’s additions. Just thought you guys should know. Hope it adds to the community because the reality is that the more people use common sense, the less we as prepared people will be targeted.
Haha.... Thanks Rod. It was a lot of fun to put this one together. I like trying to find ways of including family and friends into these videos. I also like trying to figure out new ways to freak out my new neighbors. They were probably really curious why I was out there in a mask and had someone smashing fruit.
Could it be posible that the size change depending on which country they are sending them? Because i bought one and it is 0.7 meters not 0.9; and because of that it is a small umbrella like just for one person
Is the tip replaceable? Wondering if it can also be used like a cane or walking stick. I'm pretty short so would be doable, I think. The replaceable tip would be helpful too. (I obviously haven't read through the comments or checked out the website.) Also, come visit Portland sometime :D
Too bad the manufacturer didn't authorize you to show the electronic view screen on the inside of the canopy or any of the built-in counter measures. I was hoping to see them on video for the first time ever. Maybe next time...
LOL!! You are DEFINITELY cool! I should have listed your video as well, because your wife was a BADASS in it. Ugh! Let's collaborate on something this year to allow me to make up for this miss.
Gotta be honest. I was a bit skeptical at first... but watching this video I could only thing how bad ass that is. The fact that it doesn't invert in the wind is the real win here. But also being able to defend yourself if need be would be valuable. I can see how a would be attacker would laugh at your umbrella. Until you smack them with it and making a break for it. Thanks for the video
Great video ! Another item you can carry every day is the WSH Wood Sheep Hook from Tractor Supply ! And the WSH dates back to the Biblical days so it may get banned ! My WSH is cut down to a long Walking Cane size. And the cane may be VA, TSA and school friendly. Also a one inch (1") size Rubber Foot fit the base of the cane ! For a safer Umbrella "Nutnfancy" did a review on the Blunt Umbrella at Shot Show that included a Knife Safety lesson... May have to get the Security Umbrella for protection from the Sun ! From the land of Warm and Sunny with maybe five inches of "Rain" a year (and snow only in the foot hills) making for a wimpy Winter ! Thank you for the video ! tjl
Excellent review for this umbrella. I've come to the same conclusion it's a good quality made product to be used on a rainy day and with a rubber tip on its end a nice durable walking stick. Self defense wise use common sense and Judgement not to think of using this tool as an ultimate weapon.
Ex-British bobby here. This is *technically* illegal. If any item is carried for the purpose of defence or attack it because an offensive weapon by default.
Haha! That wouldn't be fun. One of TT's hits got my on the side of my ribs and did not feel good at all. A bad guy would not like to get hit with the full force of this umbrella.
Outstanding post sir I really enjoyed the review. Very comprehensive and concise, but unfortunately now I MUST have one. 💸 Thank you for your efforts Best wishes
Honestly wondering if one could survive a 9/11 twin towers situation ? Could someone had a better chance of jumping would it slow decent enough to survive?
My channel focuses on family-friendly emergency preparedness topics, with an emphasis of gear organization. I also include produce reviews of items that I am including in my Preps.
The way you incorporate your family into these videos is awesome it looks like you guys really have a lot of fun doing this. I agree with you about the material not being durable as it could be. Great review and a great product.
Thanks man. 5 years ago I never thought I would be reviewing an umbrella. It was a lot of fun to film.
Wait What? No molle attachment points??? Glad you’re back and brought out the whole fam for this one.
Another great video, looks like you had a ton of fun making it. I had fun watching......
Thanks! It was a blast to film.
When did you join the kingsmen?
That's what I was working on when I was on my 5 month hiatus from TH-cam. The initiation process was intense! :)
I knew you were secretly a
" Kingsman "
Shhh! Don't tell. ;)
maybe it sounds a bit daft.... but I'd like to see how well the fabric stands up to (as a splash guard at least) stands up to chemicals like bleach and drain unblocker.
That would be fun. I wish I would have thought of that. I can take a look.
Thanks Joseph! Yeah, for a self defense item this only works when the weather warrants it. Otherwise, you'll really stick out in a crowd.
I loved the video and how you tested it with the family as part of the overall test - My question is when does Tactical Temptress get one? She was pretty impressed and you could see the wheels spinning after she demolished the coconut! Great review as always and I know I want one now!

I believe the city model was intended for women. In the german online shop and videos it's often referred to as the Dameschirme, or "Ladies Umbrella".
It look like you guys had fun making this. Great to see a lighthearted video every now and again. :)
We definitely did. It was a lot of fun.
Pro Tip: All the technical specifications are in the German version. Just load the page, then use a translator, like Google's tool. It's not perfect, but it will give you very detailed information, and if you have a handy metric to messed-up measurements conversion ("English" or American feet, inches, ounces and pounds.)

Thanks for the wonderful review.
One way to help protect the fabric is to spray it with a UV proofer like you put on nylon tents.
I wonder if they would sell a Kevlar version.
That would be awesome! I'd love to see that version.
The Walker LOL great are you trying to be some type of Batman villain
Glad to see an upload from you, looks like a great umbrella 🌂
Thanks Samantha! This was a fun video to do.
I need a umbrella from Kingsman. That thing has it all, bulletproof materials, firing knockout darts. It has it all. Need to check out Kingsman 2
This would be great item to carry in ones car. It would draw no attention from anyone. Keep it at arms length for unexpected moments.
Yep! That's where I keep this one mainly. My wife wants one now for her car.
Have you ever thought of trying " survival tabs"? They were designed for the early space program, but are now popular with, preparedness. The come in chocolate, vanilla, malt flavor and strawberry flavors. They seem to be easier to eat than the bars you've eaten.
It should be able to be used as a cane when no rain.
Thanks for the review, might have to get one.
Try a piece of skateboard tape for the button. (I know paying that much you shouldn't have to, but...)
Good idea on the skateboard tape!
Thanks! Glad you mentioned the concerns about being disarmed and having it used against you, something that the addition of a lanyard would mitigate against. Fun video!!
I feel that a self defense umbrella should have Kevlar for the dome, if not for the main material than as a secondary layer.
That would be AWESOME. Great recommendation!
I would love to test one of those out here in windy Illinois. We regularly get 15 MPH winds with gusts to 30.
I'd like to see that! You should score one for a review.
Never done a video before. When you come to St Louis you can bring yours and we'll shoot one.
Can you supply these security umbrella for Hong Kong protesters?
Hands down my favorite gear reviews on YT!
Wow! Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoy them that much.
I think that this would broke in my town in rainy weather. I never use umbrella in rain.
Too much fun. Love seein' the gang helpin' out.
Thanks a bunch, DW! We all had a great time with this video.
If only California wasn’t in a biblical stile drought I’d buy one... just the joy of saying I own an actual tactical umbrella would be enough for me. I can’t believe that worked should be their motto!!!
Haha! Yeah, you probably wouldn't need one of these in California unless it was for shade at the beach.
Pro tip if you hold the ninga umbrella straight over your head it will be alot more areodynamic.
Only if they made it bulletproof as well. Then it would be the umbrella from The Kingsmen lol
That would be SICK!
awesome! great production value as Always!
Thank you, Ninja!
nice to see you doing videos again
It's good to be back.
I think you sold me just the fact that we buy so many not so well made umbrellas that it’s better to buy just one good one! The security aspect is a benefit. Thanks!
Nice! I'd bought my fair share of crappy umbrellas that look all floppy now. I don't think that will happen with this one.
Where can I buy one with a machine gun built in or that has copter mode so I can fly around?
I recently received mine and am amazed. I felt pretty secure walking through Costa Rica streets with it.
Sweet! I agree. I feel slightly safer walking in the city when I have this in hand. Costa Rica is probably much more intense though compared to Seattle!
TheUrbanPrepper not really. Was pretty safe but I'm a big fella. Was like secretly carrying a hardwood beating stick though. I am getting one....Here in St Louis tho I will still carry Lol
Manufacturer website doesnt work?
Love it! getting two. Adding a rubber grip to the handle to make it more difficult to take away. A great, non-lethal addition to my Glock 27 Gen IV. Thanks!
You're welcome, Scott! Yeah, some grip would be nice for the handle.

Hi Prepper do you still use the umbrella these days? How did it hold up over the years? I have seen a lot of reviews that it wears out very quickly.
compare by showing the same tests with a high quality commercial umbrella
Great video. The umbrella is also great for those practicing gray man prepping. Also great to see Tatical Temptress back in the videos
Thanks Doug! Yes, it is very Gray Man. I'd like to have more TT appearances in future videos. It's always fun to get her perspective.
The “...primary beat down item”. Oh, man! I 😂. Thank you for the introduction to this item. I definitely would like one. Awesome video. Oh, we missed you at SHOT Show.
I wish I could have went, but work got in the way. Doesn't my day job realize I have a TH-cam channel to maintain?! :)
I was reviewing some of your old videos and noticed something about the gloves in your kits, especially the emergency hi-rise kit used for workplace emergency evacuation. Beverly
You have a great point! Its improper clothing, even for edc, as a fire can occure easily at any time .
Great review and demo! No flies on Tactical Temptress.
Thanks Susan!
long time no see. everyone alright?
there were quite a lot of people involved in this video. That's also nice about your channel, we can see prepping inside a family
It was a lot of fun to make this video. Thanks for watching, Jay! As Scott mentioned, we've been knee deep in home renovations for several months. It's thrown off my TH-cam video production time, but it's starting to get better.

Cool! I didn't know that. Do you have a link?
For training, you could do filipino kali - stick fighting
Great recommendation!
Long time no see Cliff, as usual I envy your life. Thanks for making me smile once again.
Haha.... Thanks Rod. It was a lot of fun to put this one together. I like trying to find ways of including family and friends into these videos. I also like trying to figure out new ways to freak out my new neighbors. They were probably really curious why I was out there in a mask and had someone smashing fruit.
TheUrbanPrepper well they are the lucky one's to have such a warm hearted individual for a neighbor. WWCD is my new saying # WhatWouldCliffDo
LOL!
Great review. Any vids on pet preps? I can't seem to find any on your channel.
I want an umbrella like that.
Could it be posible that the size change depending on which country they are sending them? Because i bought one and it is 0.7 meters not 0.9; and because of that it is a small umbrella like just for one person
Good overall assessment.
Your whole channel finally makes sense now that I know you live in Seattle (read : Portlandia).
LOL! Thanks.
Is the tip replaceable? Wondering if it can also be used like a cane or walking stick. I'm pretty short so would be doable, I think. The replaceable tip would be helpful too. (I obviously haven't read through the comments or checked out the website.) Also, come visit Portland sometime :D
Great Video ! The umbrella that goes with the UZI Periscope ! Timothy Lipinski
Great video my friend. I wonder if the codes work when I order it here in Europe. Because my interest is really peaked.
I imagine they would. I'll need to try it, because now my wife wants one of them.
I live just one country over.. still .. 79€ which is more than $79.. I am still thinking about it though.
Rainy Seattle? Isn't that a tautology? Lol.
Question: does it come with top hat and monocle?
Too bad the manufacturer didn't authorize you to show the electronic view screen on the inside of the canopy or any of the built-in counter measures. I was hoping to see them on video for the first time ever.
Maybe next time...
Good review. I was shocked that it split that coconut open! Better than a hammer! Thanks for the video.
Tactical Temptress was super shocked, as you saw, about that too. Your average umbrella certainly can't do that.
Urban Prepper doesnt think we are the Cool Kids.. Haha JK. Great Video Sir. We love these! ALWAYS A Fan!
LOL!! You are DEFINITELY cool! I should have listed your video as well, because your wife was a BADASS in it. Ugh! Let's collaborate on something this year to allow me to make up for this miss.
TheUrbanPrepper Haha Im just Playing Around... But on the Other Note. Absolutely Sir.
Would be very interesting, I’m looking forward to it
Let's totally do it! I'll write you.
TheUrbanPrepper For sure! Yes sir.
Thanks a bunch, Eat Carbs! It works extremely well in the wind. Most of the other umbrellas I have owned become quite floppy in the wind.
Awesome video review again Sir!
I might just be purchasing one
for my life here in Chi-town! 🙂
Very nice! It's a great umbrella and an even better conversation piece. It is super fun to show off to friends and family.
Great, informative comment as always, Tim! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
can you air travel with it?
Yes. I'm actually going to test that out the next time I travel.
Excellent review for this umbrella. I've come to the same conclusion it's a good quality made product to be used on a rainy day and with a rubber tip on its end a nice durable walking stick. Self defense wise use common sense and Judgement not to think of using this tool as an ultimate weapon.
Looks like you guys have so much fun. Gonna subscribe now, lol.
Awesome, I CANT believe that actually worked!
Brand name
Great channel
@7:35 breaks index finger. Wife laughs 🤣
Holy crap, kid prepper has gotten big. Great video
He really has! It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was showing his diaper bag on TH-cam.
Right? And now look at him, helping you with your videos and everything. Damn, that means I've been a subscriber of yours for...years haha
laneca89 you can't stop me now Batman hahaha
Sold at 8:34
Ex-British bobby here. This is *technically* illegal. If any item is carried for the purpose of defence or attack it because an offensive weapon by default.
Tactical temptress now should be rename fruit ninja lol i was wandering how as an umbrella it would do. I need to buy a new one myself 8)
I agree. Her fruit smashing skills are becoming legendary.
Ok I want one now
Sweet! Mission accomplished.
Modern Patriot no I want it more I'm going to buy 20 of them right now.
Can you imagine going to hospital and have to say you were stabbed with a f*cking brolly?
Thank you for your efforts
Best wishes
Should call this a life time umbrella.
terminator: i need ur clothes, boots, motorcycle and umbrella, give them to me now
LOL!!!
Love how you put your helmet on to protect it from the bat, yet tilt your head back so it would hit your face :-)
LOL! It was a little intimidating having a bat swung directly at you. I was worried about it slipping out of her hands.
TheUrbanPrepper or if Tactical Temptress accidentally whacked your knuckles haha
Even if you're not looking for a weapon this is just a good umbrella!
I totally agree.
Great review. Thanks for sacrificing yourself for the sake of thoroughness.
Thanks Greg! It's fun planning out the various segments to feature.
When I first saw safety umbrella I thought it was a bullet proof umbrella. I though wrong but wouldn’t that be cool
That would be incredible! I would love to do a review on that.
Another awesome video
So you brought an umbrella to a knife fight, lol.
did this channel die no uploads in eight months
Almost had a Mary Poppins moment...great review
I was hoping to fly off. It just didn't work though. ;)
Honestly wondering if one could survive a 9/11 twin towers situation ? Could someone had a better chance of jumping would it slow decent enough to survive?
Informative & Fun!!!
Thank you, Deb!
Great video as usual cliff. Think you can go by the name of "PREPPER POPINS now LOL
Lol!
Downside. People lose umbrellas. If you lose a cheap umbrella, you don't care. If you lose this, You will be heartbroken because it is so expensive
Handy!
Wait so whats the point of this channel is it to tell us wht to buy incase theirs a dday
My channel focuses on family-friendly emergency preparedness topics, with an emphasis of gear organization. I also include produce reviews of items that I am including in my Preps.
Can I use this umbrella to beat away Seattle's homeless people?
You will need to contact your lawyer on that. I cannot give legal advice on this channel. ;)
We ate the fruit? WHO WOULD REALLY GIVE A RIP?
Believe me. The last time I smashed fruit, some people were upset about it being wasteful
Libs.
Very cool video 👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks a bunch, Mike!
Secret agent man...
Haha...
