    Underrated channel. I love the build and I'd love to built one myself one day.

      @@Kylescaife would the civic type r engine/transmission fit in your build? Wouldn't that make it an easier drivetrain to built, more reliable? The weight you have the chassis at is so efficient.

      @@van4u1119 Haha no it would be huge and my chassis wouldn’t support that kind of weight! And the weight distribution would be way way off. Not to mention expensive!

    That's an awesome car! I've been dreaming of making something very similar for the last 9 years. I'd suggest mounting the forward bars of the control arms more forward on the chassis to make the bars run more front to rear rather than side to side. The reason is when you hit the gas, the wheels will be pulling the spindle forward which will put the front bars and heim joints on the control arms into compression and the rear bars into tension. Overall it will reduce stress on the joints.

    So rear end is locked, No LSD possible? what max angle will the miata cv axles be subject to?

    How's the project going. I have a question, how do you get a way with using a single brake disc for the diff? don't you two, one for each side?

  • @StreetMachine18

    i was curious to get more details on the front... what did you use for knuckles and steering rack? i assume its using Miata knuckles in the front but is that a racing steering rack?

    • @Kylescaife
      @Kylescaife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Miata knuckles yes, and a Woodward steering rack!

    Not familiar with the Miata IRS so not seeing how the axles articulate like with U joints or CV joints. I may be missing something.

    • @Kylescaife
      @Kylescaife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are just a typical cv joint! The axle just pops right into the differential housing.

      @@Kylescaife Right! Disassembled the vanagon CV axles a couple of years back, same principle. Vette uses U joints. Sounds completely workable. Permatex Gray RTV is best gear oil resistant.
