    I'm 20 years old and I never knew "what" or who Boogaloo Shrimp was. This was a great interview, I wish I was born a few decades earlier so I could've witness all these wonderful things and people.

    Awesome interview.Been a fan of Michael Chambers most my life.When i was a kid a couldn't get enough of Breakin.Me and my cousin loved it and we were inspired by it mostly because of Boogaloo Shrimp.I cant believe Chambers liked the work of Ray Harryhausen.Thats another of my favorite film makers all time.
    HeChambers is the best there ever was and always will be.Thanx for posting.

    Hey John,,super cool interview...!! Thanks for keeping the 80's alive, i still have breakin / breakin 2 electric boogaloo on VHS...They have released both movies on dvd, but there only in full screen so it's not that great..It would be amazing if they were 70mm,,,,ok ok ..i'am going overboard, but maybe one day, it may happen... So john,, keep up the good work...

    This brings a big smile to my face seeing that Boogaloo Shrimp was influenced by Ray Harryhausen. I can't think of any kid growing up around his time who didn't imitate that style. I'm so glad to see that I wasn't alone. :)

    The robot dance was brought about by the California dance group the Lockers who also appeared on Soul Train. So its no wonder Michael Jackson and Michael Chambers and the rest of us picked it up. Who knows where it first started.

    I’m glad I saw this interview, because I never really knew anything about Turbo from Breakin. I would’ve never known that he was the robot Urkel. I’m surprise he hasn’t done a whole lot more in his career because he’s extremely talented. I’m very interested in this James Brown bio pic, because I never knew they were making one. That last James Brown movie, with the guy who is the black panther now, was horrible.

    Harry or some movie bigwig needs to put "shrimp" together with Jim Cameron. Can you imagine the data and movement recording you'd get from him in a MOCAP studio. It would need to be archived in the library of congress.

    Sad to hear this hype. The truth is that the script was not complete when they started shooting. Too bad he couldn't even say Jaime Rogers name correctly. Shame on him.

  • @MrSilksoul
    @MrSilksoul 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I lost all respect for this dude a few years ago. Eli Harris and Adolfo tried to get Breakin 3 aka Breakin Revolution going (this was well before Step Up) and Chambers tried to steal the screenplay and shop it as his own. Can't respect someone who does things like that.

    • @elaineechambers

      That is a very false statement.Michael has tried to have a career with so called friends who spread rumors and are jealous of him.
