    I was once sold on the Full Shred (thanks to being 17 and Vivian Campbell playing in Whitesnake, ahh the memories...). But reality came and found me. I still have a couple of guitars with Full Shreds in them (one being my primary fave guitar) but I've since seen the error of my ways and "adapted."

    • @RolanTHUNDER
      @RolanTHUNDER  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting - how did you "adapt"?

    • @MarkSmith-vy3tq
      @MarkSmith-vy3tq ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just--thru evolving and playing different styles of music--came to realize...THERE ARE DIFFERENT TONES in music. That's where I discovered single tones of strats, the in-btween of Tele's, and everything else--e.g.., superstrats. There's just different tones to be found. Are you the tone finder???

    • @RolanTHUNDER
      @RolanTHUNDER  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkSmith-vy3tq Oh absolutely :) My main guitars have a variety of tones onboard already (HSH) but I am, and always will be a humbucker player. I love my single coils (very specific types/models) in the middle but especially in the neck position in HS or HSS config. Just with humbuckers alone there is a massive amount of tonal variety from two of my favs, DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan, I haven't even tried all the pickups from them that I want yet I've tried many :) Then there's Fishman as well as Bare Knuckle which I haven't ventured into fully, yet...
      The Full Shred is a heavy rock/metal lead players pickup. It does that very well albeit without as much chug as higher output pickups. Discerning rhythm players will love it too when they want articulation and if they play a lot of arpeggios or open chords with high gain. The Breed fits this description as well but has a way different tone thanks to it's totally different EQ (more modern sounding). I love both.

    The breed is a bit more agressive but the duncan has a warmer and cleaner high end tone i like the duncans but really depends on what guitar your using them and what tone you want.

    • @RolanTHUNDER
      @RolanTHUNDER  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Paige. That's quite true. U can't go wrong with either pickup if you're any kind of high gain, metal rhythm or lead player. Articulation is what both offer in generous amounts 😊👏

      @@RolanTHUNDER agreed dimarzio makes great pickups. But i love my duncans i only use emgs for dropped tunings. But i have a seymour duncan rtm warren demartini in my charvel and the george lynch screamin demon in my peavey vandenburg both are great in their own ways i also have a jazz sh-2 paired with the screamin demon its a perfect combo since the demon has less high end than a jb and the jazz is a bit darker

    • @RolanTHUNDER
      @RolanTHUNDER  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@paigesalas8142 Great combo! Screamin' Demon is a pickup I still want and need to get one soon to do a shootout with other pickups like in some of my recent videos. SH2 is really good in the neck position. The SH/TB12 is also usable in the neck. I thought about pairing it with my Full Shred. I could swap the TB12 between neck and bridge whenever I want which offers a lot of versatility. SH2 Jazz is way more articulate than the more classic PAF sounding '59. RTM Demartini! I'd like that! EMG is great for high output and retains tight tone so it works great in dropped tunings. Have u tried Seymour Duncan LiveWire Mustaine pickups? I love those and they work just as great if not better than EMG 81's.

      @@RolanTHUNDER the demon has the best pinch harmonics ive ever heard from a pickup there nasty. na never played the mustaine pickup. But love megadeth yeah the jazz also pairs with the tb-4 or sh4 but preferably the tb-4. Agreed the 59” is more old school and not as bright and not as much mid range as the jazz. But with the tb-4 and jazz ya cant go wrong

      @thelovacluka ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Coinmancer I think you got tangled up bro :D what would natural actually be? in this context of pickups or transformation of movement of strings into electrical signal? aggressive and natural would actually be opposites when wer are describing the tone of a guitar. I think it's better to talk in very precise terms: more or less bass, mid, treble, or articulate/ muddy, dynamic/compressed, less/more harmonics etc. That way you describethe tone that you hear very precisely.

      @Coinmancer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thelovacluka yeah if that’s what you prefer then you describe it that way. Clearly the uploader who tested them out understood what I am saying. :)
      Personally I like aggressive tones that are not artificial sounding. You can hit the mark on every bullet point you stated and still sound either artificial or natural.
      For example tube amps with heavy distortion and overdrive are very aggressive and also still natural sounding.
