Toriyama taking a page from the modern day US writing teams.
Seriously though, the 18 I remembered would've been mopping the floor with a lot of these guys.

@Bigolhusk While I know a lot of stories are written this way nowadays. 👍🏾 As I mentioned in the full version of this podcast. TOEI wrote stuff similar to this at the end of Z in early 1996 between Kuririn & 18. So they wrote that style then and still write it now. 😅
@MegaOSUI So in the full version of this podcast, I actually mentioned & show how a lot of the scenes only appear in the anime, but not the manga. Which leaves me to speculate that it’s actually TOEI Animation’s writing staff that, writes these exclusive Anime scenes for Kuririn & 18. TOEI been writing stuff like this for K/18 at least since 1996.
Also yeah 18 is awesome, my favorite female character in the series. While it’s cool, she got to shine when taking out Ribrianne. The Tournament of Power had a lot of moments, of our favorites being caught off guard easily. 😅
Like Piccolo getting eliminated by a bug… like Whhhhhat????😆 Thankfully, he got more justice in DBS: Super Hero.

lol very true Dr. Gero also keeping Lapis & Lazuli’s brains intact, really proved to be a fatal mistake for the doctor. Thus allowing them as 17 & 18 to keep their free will. I always love how Toriyama’s wrote this scenario.
He left everything intact, he didn't "replace" anything only added new stuff in their Human Body with Technological Enhancements something like Nanotechnology, it's not like they have limbs made of Steel, they aren't like other Tin Can NPC Androids
@@SonGoshuaku removing their Brains would defeat his purpose completely he wanted an Android that would have Intelligence and Capabilities of Human Brain but obviously that's impossible, that's why he used Humans and Enhanced them with whatever Latest Cutting Technologies he had, ever noticed how 17 and 18 could process Humour and Human Emotions while 16 was a complete NPC trying to understand everything and unable to process 17's words and taking everything too literally, that's the difference between a Human and an Android, what went against Gero was suppressed Humanity and Human Emotions of 17 and 18 that 16 and cell reawakened by making them run for their lives and activating their Human Survival Instincts which infact overpowered their Programming and resulting in gaining back their Humanity and Human Emotions

Also wow that would have been something if Toriyama went down that route, Vegeta & 18. However, Vegeta does like a strong woman (as stated why he loves Bulma’s strong mind set in Super) and Super Saiyan Grade 1 butt kicking, 18 certainly fits the bill.
Krillin is a simp he did the highest level pf simpin to get 18.
Thankfully things worked out for Kuririn marrying 18 and thankfully, she turned out to be a human, with just cybernetic attachments in her.
That said, in the beginning, it’s pretty crazy. He fell in love with what to his knowledge was a pure 100% robot that only look human from the outside. That was also determined to kill his best friend with her other 2 partners in crime. Despite him begging them not to do so. 😅
As a result, he destroyed the detonator and Cell reached his Perfect form. Thus humanity was nearly brought to the brink of destruction, but like I said… at least it all worked out in the end. 😁

I’m just glad 18 is not this way in the manga, during these moments. Clearly Toriyama didn’t want to portray her this way, so TOEI Animation did in their Anime only scenes.

I do agree, that yeah the writing in this Anime only scene certainly makes 18 look like a hypocrite who can dish criticism to her husband, but not take it, when he lightheartedly gives that criticism back.
@@SonGoshuaku I only say this because it’s become a common trend I’ve noticed over the past decade that seems to get worse every year and I’m honestly tired of it because it takes me out of the story and just serves as another annoying reminder of modern day drama/politics regarding families and relationships etc.

18 & Kuririn truly got to know each other during that 7 year time skip between the Cell & Boo sagas. As she mentioned, 18 kept coming back to Krillin. He had something that she couldn’t romantically resist. Thus leading to marriage, moving in, and having a kid with him, etc.
Regardless of what this Anime only scene covered in this short was trying to say. I believe Toriyama really wanted us the audience to know they were both meant for each other. ❤️

That is bullshit. One of so many things why I don't like Super. I like GT more. Seriously.
While I do like DB Super more, its not by a landside. With GT, I like that it took more chances to be different Vs how Super relies too heavily on nostalgia. I always say GT had GREAT concepts but POOR execution. Ultimately, though I feel Super's HIGH LEVEL moments come closer to Toriyama's better writing moments. Since he is involve more with DBS than GT. All that said, I don't blame you for liking GT more... because yeah DB Suepr has some REALLY LOW moments.
