    Brachyponera Chinensis, or the Asian Needle Ant, is a ponerine ant native to areas of Japan and Asia. The species can also be found in the United States, where it is an adventive and possibly invasive species. The pest species is of growing concern due to ecological impacts on biodiversity and medical risks to human health, via sting-induced anaphylaxis.

    Sir, great content: picture quality and camera work are top notch. Might I recommend some Pecos Red Wings work boots if not a steel-toed boot for these activities. Your Nikes provide comfort but very little protection. I wish you could make a cast of the red ant holes in the West Texas hill country. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    HARVESTER ANTS!!!! they make the best casting in my opinion. Wish i could find more here. Ive casted two harvester nest. Mostly fire ants here. They make a neat casting but digging up 20lb ant nest casting sucks. Awsome job!!!

      Thanks! I don’t have any harvester ants near me I live in a pretty swampy area and they’re usually found in sandy/dry areas. I like the fire ants though but I do agree they’re not as interesting as other ants.

      That is dross. It’s mostly aluminum oxide since I’m melting down bars I’ve already melted down from scrap. When I’m melting the original scrap it’ll have dirt and other non metal impurities in it as well.

      I’m not sure. I’ve gotten a casting 4ft deep before and it seemed like it went all the way down. Sometime it doesn’t completely cast it though. In the anthill casting #16 video you can sorta see where it didn’t flow through.

    • @NolansAnthillCastings
      @NolansAnthillCastings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wasn’t too sure. I thought at first they were oak ants but I spent about an hour researching them and the species we have in Florida is different from these. This ant looks identical to the asian needle ant which has made it to Florida. The only thing that’s off is the nest like you said. If it’s not the needle ant I have no clue what it is. Either way it’s not native to Florida so I don’t feel bad getting rid of it.
