    Poor buggers. Always something to keep you on your toes. Electricity scares me! Haha!
    Beautiful part of the world, which is a plus.

    We do all our travels in the bush so we stay clear of all that modern batteries systems and stick with very simple set up we cook on gas lights and water pump 12volt and one 1000 wat inverter if I need 240 power we have two 120 amp batteries and the get charged by one 300 water solar panel plus the car if needed and phones ipad and anything else gets charged while driving and never have we ran out of power and it's so simple . I must ad we haven't got kids travelling with us so that make life easier 😅

      I agree we have over complicated life at times with technology and reliance on battery power. Still much to learn.

    Love that idea for the wire. I also thought it might be used for moving snacks to the boys. Heard you are now at Coober Pedy, be on the look out for the feelgood family in Pedy. Enjoy your week.

    Stay safe family and enjoy the places you travel. The van door okay, hey what is the wire you have in the car for.
    🙂

      Very good question regarding the wire. We rigged that up so we can pull a small curtin across it to seperate the boys. It gives them their own space while we drive. We have only used it twice but worked a treat

      A bit of panel beating by ourselves and like new. We also tightened up the latches as they were coming loose.

    Salesmen will sell anything. You need 2 to 1. Two times solar to how much you use. If you got the money, power Paul batteries and redarc. Because defence gave money for there conformal coating on there printed circuit board line.
    Next, always put positive on first then negative. It helps to reduce a short circuit. Tap always first.

    • @australianoverlanders4688
      @australianoverlanders4688  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great advice regarding placing positive first. I will look into those batteries and setup if we continue to have issues.

  • @RustyCandyAdventures

    Check going overland and put more solar on that roof. You not got enough. Build a plastic pipe push together frame and semi flexible panels. The same size has roof

      @australianoverlanders4688  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I left my flexible solar panel at home as I got over setting them up on our earlier trip. Now I am regretting that decision.

      Hi Leanne,
      The road was amazing. Recently been graded. We kept commenting on how good it was.. No issues at all. No traffic either. Unlike Oodnadatta Rd which you will see in one of our upcoming videos.. corrugated and painfully long(haha) …

    lithums only advantgae is weight, they can be trouble--- im going back to agms as they dont burn your van to the ground as every week a new caravan is burning, due to lithium

    • @australianoverlanders4688
      @australianoverlanders4688  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was thinking the same thing. Caravans, cars and electric bikes all having the same issues with lithium.

    does your system feature a dcdc charger? or is it just relying on the voltage sensitive relay built into the ProjectA management module
    - you really do need a dcdc charger for the lithium as the voltage drop in "direct" cabling will not allow effective charging in the caravan from the car

    • @australianoverlanders4688
      @australianoverlanders4688  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes we have a dcdc charger. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching

    This what happens when you want all this bling and tech and obsession with using 240v in your overpriced caravan.
    Never had a problem with my DIY setup on my camper trailer with an AGM since installing in 2015.
