    *Great unit that’s easy to install and use. It’s relatively quiet compared to window units and **Fastly.Cool** , and it cools down our whole living room, side room and bathroom; which is a large space for any unit to cool.*

    My 70 lb dog thanks you so much for this. The beeping on our new Hunter Warrant fan was giving her serious anxiety. Just removed one of the contacts and all beeping ceased, while retaining full functionality. Cheers!

    I wonder if hunter requires their engineers to be morons. I mean who manufactures a stylish , super quiet motor ceiling fan and then adds a moronic 78 decibel beep that emits every time you depress buttons on the remote.

    Thank you for saving us a return! This is a GREAT fan and super easy install...and you don't believe the beeping is actually as bad as people put in the comments until it's in your room (or your kid's room in my case). It's insane that this fan is still being sold with this beeping noise ON as default. Use this video while doing the installation to save yourself the time from doing it after you wonder "could the beeping really be that bad," because it is!
    Make sure you use the right size flat head screwdriver to make the job even easier. My first attempt the screwdriver I was using was too small and it seemed more daunting of a task to loosen all the plastic clamps. But with the proper size bit, it's less than 5 minutes to a silent fan as it should be!

    RealKillfly, you rock. We looked and looked for a fan for my office (from a cosmetic standpoint) and really liked this one. THANKFULLY I read the reviews and learned about the beep. Finding your video was a godsend! Fantastic! Way to pay it forward to the rest of us. I have two additions to help others in this situation: 1) those tabs are harder to press than I would have thought. It required me to have to "pull" the enclosed structure up a little above the metal encasement. A little hard when you're juggling a screwdriver too - be patient folks. His description was spot on for where the tabs are. 2) after I popped the little metal tab off of the speaker, the blasted thing kept bouncing back up against the speaker. So I stuck a little electrical tape in between the metal wire and the speaker just to keep it from bouncing back. 3) When you're re-assembling the thingie, don't forget to pull the white connector cable up through the ring BEFORE you screw the top back into place. Not the end of the world if you forget but I'm a moron, I did. I had to fish it out (or take the top off again. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. We LOVE the fan - but it's like the people at Hunter never thought about "real people" using this in their homes. I mean, c'mon Hunter. Fix this. And take the product off the shelves until you do. Anyhow. Did I say thanks for this video yet? :-) YOU ROCK.

    Omg! Ty so much! We just did three ceiling fans with remotes none of them beep, therefore I didn’t think that that even existed as far as a ceiling fan beeping. So we bought another two fans, different brands than our others, warehouse of Tiffany brand and they both beep…… and they were not cheap, I’m thinking what is this noise and that they’re broken….. Like why do you need a ceiling fan to tell you you turn the light on or off? I mean you clearly know you turn it on or off because you don’t see the light on or you don’t see the fan moving…. But this will be what hubby and I will be doing tonight!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

    Sir RealKillfly, in the parlance of our times, u da man!!! One note about the light fixture housing: it has 3 screws that are on very tight. They're so tight that I ended up easily stripping 2 of them and had to use an Easy Out Screw Extractor to get them off. I got the 3rd screw out by setting my drill to the highest torque setting and pushing the drill head in firmly before I squeezed the trigger.

    • @RealKillfly
      @RealKillfly  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is good advice about those screws. As I recall I had the same problem, weak, soft metal screws in plastic housings are hard to get out without stripping. Just have to be careful and persistent. I would recommend a manual screwdriver instead of a screw gun. But glad to see you got it to work!

    The Casablanca Isotope fan also emits chirps when changing fan speed or light level on the wall remote. After I got the fan installed yesterday the first comment from my wife was not 'Oh that looks and works great!' It was instead 'Oh it beeps when you turn it on. That's really annoying.' The remote receiver in the Isotope fan looks similar to the one in the Channing that you defused. Unfortunately in the Isotope the receiver is in the fan cowling so I would have to have almost completely undo the fan installation to get to the receiver. What an ill-thought engineering choice to have this sound effect. I have other Hunter and Casablanca fans in the house and none of them emit annoying sounds - at most a click. Anyway thanks for taking the time to post this fix. I really can't bring myself to do an uninstall to fix this. Not yet. But at least now I have some direction if the continued chirps get unbearable.
