I've never really considered a riverside camp, but your video has inspired me for my next camp. I have a few locations in mind so I think I'll be checking them out during my next hike. Thanks Angus, appreciate it mate. I'm not entirely sure what my 'recipe' is, but I guess I sort of have a process which generally works quite well, but always trying to improve. Got a lot to learn about this stuff. Do you mean the rucksack? The one in this video is really old, its an 80's army bergen and I only use it when I dont have a really long walk in, but I really love it. Still on the lookout for a new large pack. Lol, yes its funny how much my actions confuse Peanut when I'm filming, but that is how he generally wakes me up. So got it twice that morning 😂 Take care my friend, Elliott.

    That’s a beast of a pack, Elliot! Loved the way you tied your slip knot on the ridgeline. I’m having that 😉👍🏼 It’s lovely you have a water source nearby. Not too many in my neck of the woods ☹️ A smart looking cook up there for tea 🍽 I cannot wait to get out in my hammock again. Definitely the best way for me to get some shut eye in the woods! Them fried eggs look nice. Lovely orangey yolks - free range?

    • @beaconbushcraftoutdoors5834
      @beaconbushcraftoutdoors5834 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tim, thanks for watching mate. Won't take the credit for the ridgeline knot as I got that off someone on YT, probably Des Cattys. I was relieved to find the stream in that forest still flowing after all this dry weather, but it's not generally too hard finding water down here in the west country. This was my second hammock camp and I am a convert, even using a mat inside instead of an underblanket. Its the best way to camp. Yes the eggs are free range and they always have lovely yellow yokes. Take care my friend, Elliott.

      @@beaconbushcraftoutdoors5834 I do like a free range egg. Especially from the folks who sell the eggs to my teacher daughters school. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was learnt from Des. Great video! Good suspension system, always good to have extra length with your straps, those bigger trees use heaps! I use Whoopie slings and tree huggers. @beaconbushcraftoutdoors5834 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, really appreciate it. You're right about the straps that come with the hammock and now I have my new system, I may just cut them right down and just have a small loop for the carabiner, but will use it in a few more situations before I do that. I currently just leave the carabiner attached anyway. Thanks for watching, Cheers, Elliott.
