▶️ Follow this tutorial and you will add another FUN and VERSATILE drum fill pattern to your repertoire! The RLK pattern is super useful in many aspects of drumming, so make sure to master it first, and then apply it in your FILLS.
▶️ As always, when you are learning something new, remember to keep the TEMPO down until you are comfortable at the speed you are at. COUNT ALOUD before and during playing and keep notation in front of you to make sure what you're playing is correct. I hope you got something out of this drum lesson!

Just managed to get to grips with the 3rd method, just got to improve my speed now. Does this pattern have a name or is there any songs that use this pattern that you can think of please? All the best from the U.K., Rgds Gary
That's really weird, I just watched Love to learn drums with Emma - another YT Channel and she has done a video on Stevie Wonder's Superstition - and, correct me if I am wrong, this does incorporate this hi hat pattern???
@WrongSideOf50Drummer-hj9ol yeh absolutely, Superstition is probably the most recognisable song with that hi hat pattern. As far as I'm aware it doesn't have a name, it's just a particular 16th note pattern on the hi hats, and in Superstition he is swinging the notes as well. It's a reasonably common hi hat pattern in funk music too

Really good lesson! Good structure and well explained. 😊 I'm not so sure how to use these timestamps because are they for the video, for the song at 80 or 90bpm? My suggestion for one of the next lesson would be Cream - Sunshine of your love.

Haha, yeh I had a bit of trouble with the sensitivity when I mapped the kit. Hi hats sound like I'm playing them with a steel pole too
you have set aside the acoustic kit or are you experienced with the electronic kit ? Greetings and health from Spain sorry for my English
Nah got the acoustic kit set back up again for now, will switch between them. I've played plenty of e-drums but haven't ever had to set up a drum map between the DED-200 kit and my Cakewalk DAW software and learning as I go

Hey man I’m intermediate at drums and I just wanna know if this a good kit for everyone or not. Also does it ave a built in metrenome
Hey mate, it's an entry level kit but it's robust for the price. If you're after something to gig with then I'd check out the Donner BackBeat kit for a more advanced set up. But if you're after just a kit to practice on at home then this is more than enough. Has built in metronome, pre-stored songs and usb inputs to hook up to a computer
