Sean Connery's character should have ended up as a tragic hero; that is, an honest "corporate policeman" but burned by the quasi-slave-like and dehumanizing obligations of the economic system that he "defends", as the ultimate guarantor of the rules, and that lead him to lose even his beloved family. And at this point Connery's character should have made the tragic leap and given his life to destroy the entire mining complex of capitalist corruption that has destroyed his life and that of many others, by the way, in just revenge against the "System". With this destructive action of the mining complex and his own death, the entire "System" will not change, but... or maybe it will. 😘👍🤘

Seen Outland? Seen High Noon? Share your thoughts!

Both 'High Noon' (1952) and 'Outland' (1981) are outstanding movies and they are both part of my physical media collection. In fact, I wish movie theatre chains would re-release 'Outland' for a limited run just so new audiences could appreciate it on a big screen. :)

Yes, 'Outland' (1981) is definitely 'High Noon' in space or 'High Noon' meets 'Alien', but with only humans being a major threat to Sean Connery as the mining colony's new marshal and not aliens of any kind.

'Outland' (1981) is such a great movie and aside from having the same composer, Jerry Goldsmith, for the score just like Ridley Scott's 'Alien' (1979), it has a similar production design and narrative like 'Alien' in terms of people being controlled by "The Company", so in that way, the Con-Am company in 'Outland' is much like the Weyland-Yutani corporation in 'Alien' in terms of profits being everything while people or public safety were expendable. I have 'Outland' on VHS, laserdisc, DVD, and I think Blu-ray as well, not to mention the score on LP record and CD. So, you could say I'm a fan of this movie. :)

But but but That IS Based on reality. That company was seized for tax evasion.

At the end Bronson fought against Nick Dimitri. Dimitri was also in the Seagal movie "Out for Justice" where Seagal said in the bar scene "You´re a boxer, a tough guy"?What can you do? Dimitri: To you? Seagal: Yeah. Then Seagal knocked him out with one punch.

I can find two movies called "Hard Times: on Tubi. Unfortunately, neither is this one.

Why TF didn't they make sure the convicts and the navigators took showers at different times? I'm sure they know all the prison tropes. So they have zero excuses. Also: I think you have me confused with someone who takes you seriously.....one of the best movie lines ever, despite it being a bad movie.

I watched sleepaway camp ONE time and will never watch it again! The ending was totally unexpected and scared the 💩 outta me and i love horror movies 😅! Ive seen the other 2:and they aren't as bad but the first one really got me

The Matrix actually used some of the same sets that Dark City did.

The music track needs to be lower when you play it during the scores and drawing. Gets just a bit too loud that I cant quite hear you clearly.

The completely unrelated Memorial Valley Massacre about a killer caveboy at a campground is sometimes billed as Son of Sleepaway Camp if you want to watch another one.

PACKED with jokes, fantastic cast, great dialogue and characters, it's insane. The fact that it's considered "small, underrated, cult", it's mind-boggling. To me it's up there with Heathers and Mean Girls

After viewing every fight scene just to locate Jackie Chan (which he is pretty much all throughout) I realized this was one of the most entertaining kung fu films of the 70's that I seen!? It blows my mind it hasn't been remastered or that there isnt a proper uncropped widescreen version available! The fight scenes are endless and its fun to notice a lot of familiar faces (noticed Mars was in this as well)

This is a solid film full of drama and action

Honestly, I have never paid attention to the plot of this movie, I don't know what it goes beyond the good guy who has to face the bad guy at the end. What I really value is the imagination and effort they put into the endless action scenes. I see this movie (imaginary) as a kind of precursor to Double Dragon type video games. It engages, entertains and bores at the same time as only the Great Classics do. Thanks for the mentions, I'm not worthy. See you.😘👍🤘
