Colt SOCOM Upper Quality Control Issue
มุมมอง 5521 วันที่ผ่านมา
I noticed a few QC issues with a factory new Colt SOCOM upper I bought. The retailer let me return it right away, so I didn't test fire this to even see if it was functional. The main reason I wanted to make this video is because I have heard through word of mouth that Colt's QC is going downhill. So I just wanted to document this in case anyone else shopping for AR parts may benefit.

มุมมอง 957ปีที่แล้ว
A brief overview of the differences between Sig and Glock to help you decide which is better suited for your needs. Glocks and Sigs are often seen as rivals that sit on opposite sides of the fence. Often people will swear by one over the other. This analysis is meant to more highlight the pros and cons of both, as well as my experiences with each. My Glock Guide Rod Exploded
มุมมอง 2.6Kปีที่แล้ว
I was shooting my Glock 17, and on the last round, the guide rod broke and launched forward almost 10 feet. The gun was inoperable after that and the slide was pretty difficult to remove from the frame. This is a stock Glock 17 with no modifications. The gun will most likely work again if I get a new guide rod, but I haven't tried that at the time of uploading this video. I've shot many Glocks ...

My thoughts on the Sig P320 & M17
มุมมอง 29K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I go over my opinions and experiences with the Sig P320 line of pistols in detail and more specifically on the M17 version.
Nice. Now u need to get the 5 STAR speedloader and it look like a Model 29
Not bad. If you haven't watched them go watch some of Clint Smith's videos on running a DA revolver. Also Jerry Miculek.
Check out S&W N frame model 28 Highway Patrolman. Such a smooth revolver.
I bought a used but never shot Model 27 Classic and when I got it home I noticed the barrel had been torqued too much and the top strap was not in line with the top of the barrel. S&W sent me a return authorization, installed a new barrel and reset the barrel to cylinder gap, checked out the gun for correct functioning and returned it like new for no charge. Best customer service possible and the gun is a tack driver.
I have one....spot on....awesome...I was issued one while serving in South Korea, it was an Ithaca and was Zinc parkerized (Matte Grey) in color. It was used hard, and I used it at the range event harder. A few things however about this model from Tisas....it is the ONLY historically accurate "Clone" out there....the other big boy manufactures (and others) seem to have a need to change things from the military service pistols ....and its pointless, for marketing....that said....the plastic grips that come with the Tisas are a far cry from the military ones I'm familiar with...similar but no cigar, the military ones were darker and sharper....I like the wood grips , but got the ones with U.S. engraved ....just because ....Also Tisas adds the lanyard loop to the mainspring housing.....this was on some of the pistols I saw in the military but not on most...and not on mine. But they did have the humped back mainspring which was important to me....the way your bushing rests ....is not normal....send it back to the factory...they will fix it. I had to send mine back for the slide being too loose and they squared me away. this is an awesome shooter, its accurate, I personally love the trigger. I have a Springfield Defender 1911A1, and I shoot the Tisas more. the Springfield is very nice ....but I like the Tisas much better. Great review!
Greetings from Turkey. I have a 1911 Tisaş here. The comments made me happy. Do you think it is on the same level as Kimber and Springfield?
Awesome! I’ve never tried a Kimber 1911 but my local gunsmith told me in his experience the Tisas quality he’s seen have been just as good as Kimber if not better. I do have the Springfield Operator as well which I plan on doing a video review on. That one had a couple hiccups in the beginning and had to send it back for minor fixes. But both have been plenty reliable. For the money the Tisas is the better value. Probably the upgrades my Springfield has can also be found on other Tisas 1911s as well. Overall Tisas in my opinion shouldn’t be regarded as a budget brand that cuts corners. So far to me they seem very well made and high quality.

@mongooseguns2679 Thanks for the answer. I subscribed to your channel, I follow you from Turkey
I own all kinds of auto loaders but carry a model 15-3 combat masterpiece stoked with FBI load daily.
I really like the new versions/upgrades of the 19 & 66, but that damn lock is just a deal breaker for me.
Rust and worn finish on a NEW gun?
I too enjoy my model 19 as well as S&W customer service. Mines been flawless for many years besides the ejector rod needing some tightening one time early on. Just brace the cylinder and twist the rod counter clockwise to ensure it’s tight, otherwise as stated flawless.
This was my dad's handgun
Glad you had luck with CS. I didn’t. Bought the same gun and functioned and shot great but the finish on mine was rough. Bluing was matte in some places and glossy in others. Mine also had horrible scratches on the frame. I got mine during the pandemic and was just really wanting a 357 and I missed the mad finish on mine. reached out to CS 3 times and everytime when they asked for pictures and I sent them it was crickets on their end. I’ve since sold the gun
I just adore my Model19-2. Mine has a 4” barrel. Just an awesome sweet revolver to shoot.
How much was that one ? nice score
Great review! In the market for one myself and hoping for it very soon. You can get rubber grips for this gun from the factory if that’s your preference. Try holding it with your support hand thumb crossing over your shooting hand wrist. Provides more support and allows it to cock the hammer without moving your shooting hand if you want. Unthinkable on a semi auto because of thumb in path of the slide, but works great on a revolver
When I first started shooting my DAO snubbie, it grouped to the right like that. I learned to squeeze the trigger with the crease of my first knuckle and made sure that when the trigger broke, the front sight didn't jump to the right. Get some snap caps and dry fire it, you'll see what I mean.
That is a beautiful gun
This was in 85 and sold 88
I bought the same gun when station in Germany, l paid 250, but had to sell year later when l got hom
Reviewers create confusion by using the word “CHEAP” which denotes poor quality, which these guns are not !!!
Check out the Smith& Wesson k-frame battle grips they've got finger grooves. They're really nice wooden grips. Those are nice too. But you got the finger grooves and you put it. It kind of gives you a little bit. Let you hang on to it better. They're not cheap though
I received mine last week. Purchased mine from Palmetto for $299. Love the feel and look and I’m well satisfied with it
Do you know if the WC grip of smaller than the regular full-small grip?
Looks like you got a little hammer bite on your hand. As for the gun, I"m seriously considering purchasing one. Thanks for the review.
I should have waited until the end of the vid before commenting.
Artisen
I have heard the ak 47 is the most dependable weapon
From the intro alone this video deserves more views 🎉 thanks mongoose for saving our souls during this time
Does it come with a speed cocker blocker?
👀👀👀👀 did you get the extra speed cockers?
Man I have shot this gun and I am not a fan. Feels like ur shooting a 🧱
Very informative video, appreciate the content

2. To Believe means to be persuaded or convinced Jesus is the Christ Christ means Messiah/Savior Jesus Christ is the Son of God He Saves people from Everlasting Death He Died on the Cross, was buried, and Rose again on the third day. He Conquered Death for all Humans, no matter who they are or what they have done or will do. Salvation If you believe that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah), The Son of God, and that He gives you eternal life simply for believing in Him, you have eternal life (John 20:31; 1 John 5:1, 10-11). They are affordable.. not cheap 🤣 You keep saying Cheap 🤣 I purchased one of these a few weeks back The sights aren’t a down grade… they are close to original.. this gun is based off a battle pistol… simple and tough…
This is just my opinion, I believe that the 1911 platform is the most comfortable and serviceable sidearm. I've never been in the military or law enforcement, my opinion comes from carrying an all metal pistol daily for years. I have polymer pistols a d they're good firearms, but I prefer the slimness and weight of the 1911. The 1911 fits perfectly in my hand, like it was made for it. The tisas is a great representation of the classic pistol.
Not sure if those were hollow points but these do not like that.
I tested a couple mags I think. Often times 1911s need a break in to cycle these, but these worked right out of the box.
@ gotcha. You got me itching for this. Especially with the ejection port fixed.
I have seen so many different version of this gun from Tisas. Mainly with the markings on the gun. I last one I saw had M1911 A1 Govt. engraved on the right side under the slide. Just wondering why Tisas has changed the markings and marking locations so much on this gun?
Hammer bite is a real thing . . . Wear gloves to prevent it. Otherwise, great gun.
I've had mine for 5 years now. Such a solid 1911.
I noticed you had some abrasions in the web of your hands. Was that bite from the pistol? Have you shot the gun more? Any issues? Thanks.
Yeah, that was caused by hammer bite actually. In this video I shot 100 rounds and you can see it really tore up my hand. I immediately took it to a gunsmith where he trimmed down the hammer for me. I still shoot this a lot, and have zero issues. I plan to talk about this in a 1,000 round review I’m hoping to make soon.
@@mongooseguns2679 Probably would have been good to mention this in your review.
Oh shit, you go to Fox Valley too!? Lol 😆
Haha yes! They are by far the best range in the area. I go there for pistol work and up to Wisconsin for rifles.
Tisas makes the same quality or even BETTER, than Colt..😂 I got one from each manufacturer, tisas is much better, more reliable too .
Those are excellent 1911s
nice control sir
I have a Tisas 1911A1 (WG wood grips. It came witg both) it is an absolute twin to yours. A great shooting 1911. It is the companion piece to my CMP acquired service grade 1943 Remington Rand M1911A1. Enjoy yours, I enjoy mine.
Who cares about shallow presentation ?? Its the weapon thats special !
They are pretty finicky with ammo that's why the occasional jam
Glock considers the guide rod a replaceable item. it's made of polymer on the inside. I replaced the guide rods in my 17,19,43x, and 21 with the stainless steel version of the factory guide rod and all is good with confidence. The Glock gen6 if there ever is one will have steel guide rods like other manufacturer's poly pistols. Stainless steel is way more durable than tungsten folks.
Great gun! Glad I was able to get one. I use Wilson Combat 47D mags with this gun. 💯reliability!
That’s what I use and I’ve ran HST, Gold dot and Remington golden saber bonded no issues
Nice.
