Hey brother no disrespect to you and I do appreciate what you're doing. I've been in Kansas City since I was born. I would not be posting videos with your family in them. You live in a dangerous area my man. I'm not saying anything bad is going to happen here, but the nefarious characters in your area might try and do something to extort you for money, etc. I just think you're a little too comfortable with your surroundings (no offense). Frankly I think you should move to Overland Park/Lenexa/Olathe/Leawood (kind of expensive). I just genuinely want you and your family to be safe is all. Appreciate the content!

I moved to KCMO just over a year ago after living in the bay area my entire life. I had no desire to move to the Midwest and the change was due to work not by choice. My daughter now attends FLA and this has ended up beimg one of the best moves/changes I have ever experienced! Everything you said here is so true! If people are hesitant like I was, it has been such a surprise at the level of community and culture it offers! Just like you said it somehow holds this magical ability to be big city and small town all wrapped in one package!

Iam east of indep luckily, man research hospital lol. My mom got her purse yanked off her there when I was a kid. You couldn't give me a house in kc or certain ares of indep, sadly grew uo.in indep. Liberty is nice area but area it's grown to fast, , I guess all areas have bad spots but crime in kc and indep lo are the worst areas.

I do agree that it really depends on the suburb that you choose around KC. Some are definitely more walkable than others. They are correct that Independence has very little sidewalks to just walk without first needing to drive somewhere like a park. If you go on the Kansas side in Mission, KS, there are a little more options to walk right outside of most homes.

Housing prices are bloated in many cities. A self correction is needed. I live in Lenexa and home values are bloated and need to come down for property tax sake.

If you devided Kansas city up into different areas this list would be a lot different. I think that would have been more fair.

All things said in your video, I have to ask: What made you move to KC?

I admire your service to the Lord! But for the safety of your family, you got to get out of there. I can't imagine living in that neighborhood, let alone raising kids there! Yes we trust God for protection, but we still have to be logical about our decisions.

I agree about Liberty and excelsior springs. We sold in KCMO and moved to 3 acres between Kearney, Holt, and Plattsburg. The area exploded as soon as United Fiber moved in allowing everyone to get work from home jobs. My only advice for people that want to move to this area is look at the school boundaries before buying. Home might be in Kearney, Smithville, Plattsburg, Lawson, Lathrop district. Call the School bus barns to make 100% sure.

Independence= meth , gladstone used to be good but the crime junk from downtown kc is quickly invading it and its going downhill fast, dont live in anywhere with a kcmo or a kck address its crime ridden , grandview is a meh same issue as Gladstone it got invaded by kcmo and crime ridden. Johnson county , mission, basehor , bonner springs , prarie village ,.blue springs , oak grove , grain valley , parts of liberty , zona rosa these are the places id look

I love your content but selfishly hope it doesn't get too big. I moved to Overland Park from Los Angeles last year and this place is a treasure that needs to be kept a secret. No matter how much or how hard I worked in LA, the bar to homeownership and a brighter future kept moving away from me. Here, the American dream still lives - and it feels like one of the last frontiers for opportunity and growth. I never would have expected that from Kansas City!

The reason Grain Valley is losing, and Odessa is growing, is because it's in Lafayette county. The taxes are pretty much double in Jackson county compares to Lafayette. And it mystifies me why Odessa would be increasing so much, because it's a town of 6,500 people, and it has NO GROCERY STORE

Jayleen, grow your channel with subjects that are going to have mass appeal. Food, points of interest, history, fun activities. I suggest you start doing lunches a few times a week and recording those meals. It might be pricey, but, it should pay for itself rather soon, I would think. You could also do city tours and talk about points of interest and the history being these points of interest. Why not on Union Station? It was a major transportation hub during WW2. There was even a shot out on the front steps I've heard with bullet marks still in the concrete from the shootout. Maybe tell that story and, or, debunk it. There is an old castle estate they are currently renovating, that would be a fun video if you did the right research and could share that story. I think the interest level for the subjects you have been doing are not subjects that are going to appeal to the wider audience. I want you to do well with your channel. So far, your videos are more of a miss than a hit. I say that with all due respect. No one wants reminders of how bad the city / metro area they live in, of how poor or bad it is. Your videos seem to fallow this trend. Please, some up-beat and uplifting videos? Over here in KCK, there are a lot of authentic Mexican owned restaurants, come showcase some of this food. There are food trucks that setup over here in KCK once a week, and the food is great. Promote your city in positive ways, rather than point out all the black eyes around the city. Did you know you can request for free to go on top of city hall? Yes, you walk in, go to the desk and request a tour. You show your ID and a guard will go up there with you. You have an INCREDIBLE view of the city. That would be another fun video for you to do. 100% free. Move away from the depressing stories of Kansas City and try doing some uplifting, fun videos that are going to resonate better with the people of Kansas City. This will also give you more options for doing video shorts. I can help you get to 100K subs quickly. The formula is not hard at all.

You're very dismissive whenever a Black person brings up any racial issue regarding KC. And while being dismissive (which is problematic enough) you bring up the fact that you're Asian. What does being Asian have to do with a Black Person's experience? Because Asians are an "Ethnic" group that automatically means you can discredit a Black Person's perspective simply by being Non-White? You can resonate what a Black Person is saying on any other gripe EXCEPT when it's about race? I mean, if you as an Asian person or any other Non-White who doesn't experience any kind of Racial Struggles in KC... then that's wonderful, great for you. But that doesn't mean it can be discarded merely based on *YOUR* experience. Not to mention, Asians (And other ethnic group) can be very discriminatory or prejudice towards Blacks as well.

So basically even if u move to the ghetto in KCK or downtown with constant crime and 6 homeless crackheads at every stop light, there still isn't any affordable houses lol I work a full-time job making 24$ per hour and getting a home in this city is still pretty much impossible...and monthly rent is even more expensive than a monthly mortgage payment. So we are to poor to afford to rent, but also too poor to be approved on some crazy 300k$ home loan smh I live here in Gladstone and am planning to get serious about buying/renting my first home during the next tax season when I have some down payment money, but man it seems impossible. I used to live in Independence for a little less than a year and didnt regret moving from it. North Independence is a literal FOOD desert unless you want fast food. There are no healthy options and many businesses are going out of business near the Sugar Creek area. The only nearest super market in walking distance had its roof collapse. I know south Independence as you are heading toward Lee's Summit is nicer but north of the city is NOT where you want to live. I lived in a neighborhood where there was a duplex that was constantly involved in domestic violence. Our next door neighbor was a HOARDER and had illegal (pit bulls are not allowed in Independence) dogs on the property that would GET LOOSE. Stray animals were PREVALENT as well. I would avoid north Independence. There have been no good words about it. I moved to the Southmoreland neighborhood of KC and LOVE the neighborhood WAY more.

The problem is independence, not Kansas City. And downtown Denver has so many homeless people. I’ve never seen anything like that in Kansas City. In my personal opinion I think crime is worse in Colorado. So many mass shootings have occurred there. I think if they moved to Lees Summit they wouldn’t be leaving Kansas City. Independent is the trenches.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I really dislike how you didn’t uphold the premise of your video. When I think of a neighborhood, I’m thinking a small community within a city and not the entire city. I’m a KC local but if I wanted to move into a new community, I’d be far more interested in learning about why I should avoid Westport and Maple Parks than be told to avoid a city. This isn’t a productive way to encourage people to move to KC (though I think that isn’t necessarily a bad thing since I we’ll lose a lot of our charm as more people immigrate here).

I live in the second safest city in Missouri. And it’s not far from KC. I’m in Greenwood. The key is to live near white people. And not the rednecks. The quiet and a bit racist judgmental ones. But at least while people won’t shot you. Na they just call the cops. Also stay out of HOA. Those white people are real racist.
