Cowboy Cookies
The recipe for these classic crispy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies is available at cowboycookie.org/.
00:04 Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup liquid oil (corn or peanut)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1⅛ cups cake flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
1¾ cups rolled oats (quick cook)
1 package chocolate chips (6 ounces)
Directions
00:22 Preheat oven to 350° F.
00:26 Beat eggs and sugars until light and fluffy, add vanilla.
02:26 Add the oil and beat well.
03:52 Sift flours, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar.
05:47 Add flour mixture gradually to egg mixture and blend but do not over mix.
07:37 Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
09:59 Drop by teaspoonful (melon baller works great) onto parchment paper lined or non-stick cookie sheet.
11:04 Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
11:59 Cool on wire rack. As soon as they are cool put them in an airtight container. Ziploc bags are great; this will keep the cookies light and crisp. If the cookies sit out on a tray or plate for very long they will lose their crispness.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Omg! I know this was awhile ago Shelby but i had to watch this and comment 😊 My goodness this is just amazing, just so intricate and colourful. The pulling was very planned and executed beautifully. Thanku, its truly beautiful. I was so engrossed watching it that the dog bark frightened the daylights out of me hahaha woke me right up 😅😂😊❤
Wowee !! Absolutely beautiful 🎉
😯😯😯😯😯😯 Wow
Such an inexpensive way to try new techniques and storage space is negligible! Neve saw anyone else doing this. Hope you give it a try!
I am a new subscriber and looking forward to your creations. This is beautiful. ❤❤❤
Beautiful!
Really cool wow!!
Beautiful!
Love it awesome
Awesome
Glad that you enjoyed it! There are so many colors under the top layer of paint that can be brought up using the beaded chain. Give it a go.
That’s an awesome idea, I will definitely try this ❤
This is beautiful.
The deft way in which you manipulate the chains to achieve your wonderful compositions is truly inspiring! Thank you 😃
WOW! I just came across your video. What an excellent idea! I will be using this idea from now on!
Beautiful!
Hi Shelby I know this is an older video but can't hear you speaking hardly. Volume turned up high...Love the paper idea. Linda in Colorado SPrings
Wow oh wow
Glad that you viewed and enjoyed the technique of chain pulling. You can save many boring pours. Hope you give it a try.
Shelby. I just recently seen one of your pieces on facebook, and decided to check out your youtube page. Your work is just beautiful, but I noticed that all of the ones shown are from 3 years ago. Where have you been? I'd love to know how you created some of your paintings. Will you be posting again anytime soon? I hope so because I wold love to see more for your work.
this is amazing!😍
Just beautiful!
Thank, hope that you will give chain pulling a try.
It kind of looks like angel wings.
Love the way you show what pulling in different directions does. The colors are fabulous! Turned out beautifully!
Thank you Jeannie, glad that the video was interesting for you. Have tried it yet? You can get many effects using the chain technique.
@@shelbyprice7081 I've tried chain pulling. Used small ball chain. Turned out OK for my first time. I was glad to watch you. I'll give it another go. Have a most blessed day.
Oh my gosh! Now it's magnificent!
You just chainged it! And made a different texture!
Thank you for viewing my video and I hope it inspired you to creat your own version.
Loving this tutorial-- best chain pull technique I've seen. Thank you!
May you create some beautiful chain pulls. There are so many was to enhance blah pours too.
Thanks for this idea! I recently started using this in the 13x19 size but I seem to get tiny bubbles I think that give it a little sandy look when dry. The paints were mixed for awhile so I am not sure if you ever experience this? A few of the thicker ones are okay but more have the sandy texture.
I never experienced any thing like you have described. Not sure what caused the problem.
This is such a fabulous idea! I will definitely try it!,, ❤️❤️. Thank you! 💐
It works great and takes up way less storage space.
@@shelbyprice7081 Looking forward to trying it out! Thanks again!
Love how this seems so thought out in design. Thank you for illustrating details.
Thank you most of the thinking is done as you go. Just looking at how each chain pull lays down and the making the next one fit into a finished design. Some chain pull paintings are intentional but the ones where you pour the paint first it is much more about bringing up colors that you know you put in the pour but didn’t come to the surface. Or it can be about bringing so interest to a blah area of the painting.
Absolutely Beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your expertise Shelby. It's very much appreciated my new friend. I HOPE to see you around ❤❤❤
These are soo inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
Terrific,I love it. I’m off to try it right now. 👏👏👏
Wishing you much luck, just have fun.
Wow! Can’t wait to try this! Do you mix your paint as you would for canvas? Do you put down a base coat?
It depends, this video was just a regular pour that I didn’t like so I use the chains move the paint into a more pleasing design. I do everything just as I would for canvas. Base coat always helps paint move more easily. The photo paper is so inexpensive and the storage space more practical. Good luck.
Lovely 😍
Beautiful
love your work, do you use gesso to prime the photo paper before pouring? thanks
No, that is the beauty of using it. The brand that I recommend in the videos does not curl! Takes up much less storage space. Good luck.
Don't forget that thrift stores almost always have photo paper (and paint). I have quite a stash for only a few dollars, and it's good quality that I have used for alcohol ink pieces. Guess what I'm going to try now? Thank you for the idea!!!!
Thanks for sharing! Greate ideas ❤️
Thank you for all the great ideas. I am going to try this with canvas paper that’s just been hiding in my storage drawer.
Let me know how well it works.
Beautiful! Thank you!
Amazing
Glad that you enjoyed the video. You can get many beautiful paintings using the chains. Always have your paint a little on the thicker side, otherwise the design will not keep its shape.
This is by far the best chain pull video I’ve seen, you have a new fan and subscriber. Thank you for sharing your talent. 😍
Thank you, I did many paintings using the chains. You can save many a not great pour as there are colors under the top layer of paint that can be brought up using the chains. I am currently doing more traditional art pieces but the pours are unique. Good luck keep your paint a little on the thicker side.
Will matte and/or glossy paper work as well? Thanks for the information... priceless ...
I have only tried the paper shown in the video. It needs to be a good quality. Some people have said that the paper they tried curled. Mine did not curl.
@@shelbyprice7081 Thank you for responding.
So Ingenious
Thank you Tami. I couldn’t believe how well it worked.
