      @@shelbyprice7081 I've tried chain pulling. Used small ball chain. Turned out OK for my first time. I was glad to watch you. I'll give it another go. Have a most blessed day.

    Love it thanks so much for sharing your skill, great tutorial and your very relaxing to watch thanks again.
    I like it when things are explained so many others out there don’t talk, that’s great for experienced people but not so much for beginners. So thankyou for taking the time to do this much appreciated 😀😀😀

      Making a video takes me way out of my comfort zone but had people wanting to know how I did some of my pieces. And like you I find videos that give you hints of what to do and what to avoid very helpful.

    Shelby. I just recently seen one of your pieces on facebook, and decided to check out your youtube page. Your work is just beautiful, but I noticed that all of the ones shown are from 3 years ago. Where have you been? I'd love to know how you created some of your paintings. Will you be posting again anytime soon? I hope so because I wold love to see more for your work.

    What type hanger do you use on such a thin board

    • @shelbyprice7081
      @shelbyprice7081  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would frame a thin board and put the hanger on the frame. Photo paper I mount on a piece of foam board and then frame. Sometimes I mat them too.

    Hi Shelby...love it. I notice that none of the Payne’s Grey came out in the pulls yet the chain touched that paint in a few places. Did you let your grey base sit for awhile before you pulled? I ask because I love the clean lines without having the base muddy up the edges. Thanks. ❤️

    • @shelbyprice7081
      @shelbyprice7081  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry that I missed answering your question Diane. No I did not wait any at all just applied the colors and pulled the chain through. The Grey is visible a small amount in the lower part of the pull.

      Thank you, the chains can be purchased at Amazon. You can find necklaces there also but they are more expensive. I just cut these longer lengths in shorter ones. That way I don't have to keep washing the chain between each pull. Just drop the dirty chain in to a cup of water until you are finished and then clean up.

    Thank you so much for your tips on this technique... Shelby, I have watched a lot of different artists on this technique and you are definitely at the top of my list! You are an amazing artist and I for one really appreciate your sharing your "How to's" . I have done a few string pull paintings (my mom loves them) I tried one of the chain pulls and I feel they are so much prettier in the details. I will be trying to make the chain do more for me and not me being at the chains mercy! Lol.... Thank you so very much for inspiring me!

    Do you use a medium with your paintings and silcone?

    • @shelbyprice7081

      I use Floetrol mostly and don't use silicone very much in the pour. I do add some silicone to the white paint that I dip the chain into. That will give you nice cell in the chain pull.

    • @shelbyprice7081
      @shelbyprice7081  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Linda, hope you were inspired to give it a try. It does take a little practice and don't have your paint too thin as it will just flow back together or won't give you a sharpness to each pull.

    Hi Shelby, this has to be the best video I’ve watched for chain pulling. Thank you so much for your videos.may I ask what the consistency of your paints are, and, are you mixing them with floetrol and a pouring medium?

    • @shelbyprice7081
      @shelbyprice7081  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use floetrol and the consistency not to thin. If too thin then you will not get nice sharp edges to your designs. Thank you for the nice comments. The chain pulling opens up a whole new aspect to pouring. I use it a lot to add interest to a blah pour.

    • @shelbyprice7081
      @shelbyprice7081  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, that is the beauty of using it. The brand that I recommend in the videos does not curl! Takes up much less storage space. Good luck.
