มุมมอง 20314 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hi friends! Today I have a chatty life update for you as I explore using my new (to me) camera. I like taking more cinematic shots, and it's so much easier on a camera than on my iPhone. The audio is a bit wonky, but I think I know how to fix it for next time. Kenji Lopez-Alt's Recipe: www.seriouseats.com/best-potato-leek-soup-recipe Thanks for watching!

The Case Against Sugar: 3 key takeaways

Heyyyy how's it going?? Recently I read the book "The Case Against Sugar" by Gary Taubes. It was a super dense book, so I wanted to condense it down to my three key takeaways: 1. Sugar may be uniquely harmful to our health. 2. When a population adds sugar to its diet, we see the rise of certain diseases in the population. 3. The effects of sugar are seen overtime, and not right away. So yeah. T...

    let me tell you one thing i gave my phone to my friend and told her not to give it to me for a month just for me to totally stay away from social media, those apps are killing this generation i am done with all those and i meant it, people are not showing their real life on those apps it is all lies and brainwashed. Not having a social media help me realize that i had to my Human power back it is like my brain is rewiring it self again i can sleep better now, i can socialize more often now, i can eat better and most importantly i can connect with the universe like a human being that i am and that is why i am here to connect with the universe to eat clean, to take care of my body, and to protect my human energy if you thinking about quitting social media do it

    I feel like this needs way more views. I'm posting anonymously because I'm from Venezuela, and my country is in conflict-if you follow the news, you'll know why. However, my comment is more about how Amanda's experience with digital nomadism and leaving social media resonates with me. I was originally very active on X, amassing over 10,000 followers but after the conflict escalated and I found myself doing more and more hours of social media I decided to let that go and build a bubble for me, I know it's kind of privileged, and yeah, I'm definitely privileged by my country's standards, given that I travel abroad a lot and in fact I'm going for my second visit to the US this week. I found that after letting social media go, I feel more satisfied with my life, and I compare myself less with other people, which is good. Especially since all my friends have fled nowadays due to the political crisis, and their lives seem to be better and well, sometimes I have to deal with stuff here in Venezuela that is beyond the scope of the video. In the end, I have stopped doing comparison with other people; I've been involved in more deep conversations once in a while using Skype or even WhatsApp. I feel like getting off social media has been such a great decision even if I lost contact with some casual friends. Thanks for sharing this!!

    I hope my question is not stupid , but what about TH-cam addiction ? Can that also be considered in the same way as being addicted to social media ?

    • @AmandasLifeNotes
      @AmandasLifeNotes 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's not a stupid question! I think it depends. Personally, I didn't have the same problem with TH-cam. Long-form content just didn't feel as bad for my brain:) But, if you are noticing addictive tendencies with it (unable to put it down, abandoning your other hobbies just for youtube, prefering TH-cam to social interaction, etc.) then yes it can certainly be addictive!
