A number of things, basically if you went for the tech building for Jaegar you do not immediately have access to PAKs, so your option for AT is either zooks or Marders. AT usually should be bought in pairs so it would have to be your third Jaegar to get the scope. Marders and Weibel compete for fuel and is extremely fuel hungry, you need to tech T2 and support element which is 50 fuel. Zooks just make too much sense in this line.

It will be really interesting to see the balance changes coming in a couple weeks with the Onyx Shark update. I’d be surprised if there aren’t adjustments to rangers.

@@SargeGG Yeah very curious myself since I remember when the game first came out the USF was the weakest faction by far, I'm sure some players aren't gonna be happy if Rangers are nerfed into overpriced cannon fodder but I think Relic put themselves in a corner with the idea in the first place (six flamethrowers or bazookas for a six-man squad?! OK lol) Since I'm stuck on console I've been out of the loop on balance and last I heard the pendulum shifted back in favor of Axis, but there still seems to be lots of complaints about Rangers

@@seanw8005 Yeah exactly Sean, the issue isn’t really even the Rangers themselves necessarily. It’s the Ranger weapons training ability (purchased in the battle group tree) and the multiple weapon slots that make the rangers so effective imo. I would assume that’s where Relic targets for the nerfs.

Lol same here they always seem to blob Rangers plus the manpower bleed's massive when they need to be reinforced. I personally didn't think the Ranger tree was that great since everything else about it seemed to be underpowered

Absolutely @drone & @sean, I think you guys are onto something. If you identify the Rangers early and effectively zone them with MGs, you can really get ahead with your tech and that’s where the US player falls behind. Especially if you’re bleeding them on manpower.

Hopefully they get a little tweak in the update next month

Agreed, not retreating but pulling the allied infantry, especially the , into the MG and forcing them to hard retreat back to HQ. It’s a big play in the early game

Yeah, I would agree with this Teju. It’s a very underrated tactic. It can totally change the momentum of a match. I think a lot of players, myself included, get stuck in the mindset that they have to play the side of their spawn at all times throughout the match.

I’m really happy you were able to make the switch because it would be such a bummer to lose players like you. But yeah, you make a good point, the PC player base is much larger but there is also a much larger skill gap between players as well. Good note to make, Arthur. Probably the best use of scorch tactics that I’ve seen thus far. It really made a big difference in zoning out the Rangers, both defensively and offensively as you stated.
