Hello, giving out your real name on the internet is a bad idea so just call me BexyWan, I am a senior in high school and am looking into a career in animating. I am also in an esports smash bros team. Last year me and my friends never lost a match and were #1 in our district, but the state finals overlapped with our school’s band tour, and all six of us (3 varsity and 3 JV) were in band.
So that’s a little bit about me, as far as posting and videos and stuff, if I want to make a video about something I like, I will, if you guys have any suggestions, I might do that, too.
Super Smash Bros Recoded fans, that stuff will probably be posted on a separate channel dedicated to SSBR specifically, if and when that channel is made, I’ll post about it. Thanks for taking some time to read about me and have a great rest of your day!

MGR Raiden slash distortion effect blender
Greetings, This is the first video in (what hopefully becomes) a series where I recreate video game effects in blender. If you have any suggestions for what effect (or anything else) I should do next, feel free to tell me in the comments. If you are wondering why the effect in the thumbnail looks a bit different than the one in the tutorial, I messed around a bit after finishing the video. I bumped up the distortion and bumped down the scale of the noise texture on the shockwave, and I made the slash effect blue. Also feel free to join my discord: discord.gg/fQRCKv5bfr

Cascadeur rig bug (fixed)
มุมมอง 2.6Kปีที่แล้ว
Hey there, this is a quick fix for a rigging bug that I had a little while ago in Cascadeur, I hope it helps you. I have been pretty busy, with the school year ending and all, so I have decided to not upload a video every week, maybe. We'll see what happens, if I have something happen that I want to make a video about, or have an idea or request, I'll probably do that. But I want the videos tha...

Advanced Rigging in Blender - Request

Hey, How's it going? I finally had the time and experience to make this video. I hope this helps a lot of you. I apologize for sounding bored towards the end of the video, it took me like an hour of testing to figure out how to do it and I was tired of it. Blender 2 Cascadeur - Tutorial Remake
มุมมอง 9Kปีที่แล้ว
Hello there, I remade my blender to cascadeur tutorial because I was winging it the first time. I proof-watched it so that it won't be like my advanced rigging tutorial (which I deleted because it was basically half a video) speaking of, I am doing research on more advanced rigging tips and will later put them all into one video. As always, thanks for watching, and have a great rest of your day...

Tracks in Cascadeur - short tutorial

Hello, I hope you are having a great day! any reason why like .... I only animated the arms of my character in cascadeur and so now in blender it's basically T-Posing the animation... So it looks like a T Pose but he still move his lower arms "The right way"
@@hislittlecuzin there might not be any key frames for the legs and spine, also make sure they have the exact same armature
@@bexywan5244 do you know how to toggle key frame on stuff? I tried F to set frame but it deletes my pose since there's already a key on some joints on the frame.
@ that shouldn’t happen, try going to the first frame and make sure there is a frame is there first, otherwise it sounds like a glitch and it might be better to take it to the Cascadeur discord
@@bexywan5244 yeah it has a frame. I closed and reopened my scene like 50 times to be sure the pose was right. The exported fbx animation is right in blender but when I try to apply it to the "original" skeleton on my model in blender only the arms I animated move. I might have to start from 0. Maybe I "disabled" the first frame "zeroing" it out...
@ that is possible, unfortunately I stopped using Cascadeur a while ago so I’m not as experienced in it as I am in Blender, although it might be informative to import that FBX into Cascadeur to see if the problem is there or in Blender
top notch bug fix! thank you for that!
@@hallersamuel You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
Thank you
@@AvantNovis You’re welcome!
I think it is not possible to export in .fbx since it requires purchasing the software. Do you know any way i can get it to blender without buying the software since i am just trying it out right now?
Oh, I think you're right. Cascadeur must have changed it for free licenses, it wasn't like that at the time of the video. I don't think there is a way to export it now besides a free trial, that kinda sucks, sorry man.
hollow knight cursor rocks
@@SmarkiStudios Thanks!
Tracks are still mega confusing how to work with them. It aint like layers, it aint like nothing. I still don't know how to work with it...
Understandable, a good way of going about it is just thinking of them as collections that you can sort points into
@@bexywan5244 Yeah, on the way later thinking about, I now understand, so totally like GROUPS in Blender. So Cascadeur anyways to be really usefull, well maybe just from My perspective, need to have LAYERS, because now every changes or fixes are desctructible, which isn't accepted, because I can't have the base animation.
@@RairAfair Yeah, if you want multiple animations, like for a video game or something, you are better off using multiple Cascadeur project files.
FINALLY! I wanted to do a little animation for a music video (I'm currently writing/making a song and I wanted to publish it with an animation) and for that animation I wanted to use a vroid model (my vroid model -> gonna bring out my first video on the channel RIn Melody very soon...hopefully..) but I have a bad pc which can't handle that many bones (blender sucks), which is why I now use Cascadeur for the character animations so that my pc won't shut down every 2 min XD. I think I'll make the other things either in blender or in Maya (the backgrounds, Fxs like clothing animation and wind animation, and other models like I wanna have a piano animation in it too). Thanks for this guide, I made my very first test animation today (I really had problems rigging the vroid model in blender-> It took me 2 f*cking without even a end-result :( ) but Cascadeur makes it just as easy as stealing a lolipop from a baby XD
@@lpmitmano9572 Cool, I’m glad this video was able to help you. Have a great time animating for your music video!
thank you!
@@noname_2108 you are welcome!
this tutorial helped a lot!
Thanks, I’m glad it helped!
hey have you ever tried or know if its possible to export more than one character at once into cascadeur from blender thru the plugin ?
I haven't tried it, is there a specific issue you are encountering?
I just get random ass movements and not only in the ass
well u deserver sub
Thank you
this is cool but I don't even know what a "track" is, guess I need a more basic tutorial heh
Basically, it is a way to separate the key frames from different body parts so you can animate them individually
Thanks, very appreciated!
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
Thank you so much! It's very helpful.
you are welcome! I'm glad it helped.
That was super helpful, thanks!
You’re welcome!
How is play back is so smooth
I’m not really sure what you mean
Thanks dude, 1 sub for u
No problem, thanks!
I got the same bug, however my points were in the correct position when I checked. I'm at a loss here
I would try refreshing the auto posing with the button at the top right. If that doesn’t work then it might be worth going to one of the official Cascadeur rigs and cross-referencing, because as far as I know, the way in the video is the only way to fix it. If all of your bones are correct, and you have refreshed the autoposing, you should probably post the bug on the official Cascadeur discord, as there are many people there who know more about the software than I do. Cascadeur discord: discordapp.com/invite/Ymwjhpn
@@bexywan5244 Yeah ill try to check out their discord because refreshing the autoposing didnt work either. I figure something is wrong because my character started out T-Pose, but after the process ended they are in another pose after auto posing is selected.
This video still is relevant! Thanks! I love Cascadeur, but there are many issues in so many programs when we try to import (Only two programs don't give me a headache when I import: MotionBuilder and 3DS Max, they worked nicely with Cascadeur).

You are great hope u had more sub ,try not using filler words it will help u
Thanks for the tip!
I have a doubt. I have made a rig in blender using autorig pro, so it comes with controllers, so in order to export should I export the rig with deform bones or with both deform and controller bones, or just controller bones?
You would need to export only the deform bones, but it would be quite advanced to keep the controllers active after the export, this deserves its own video, which I will make soon, but for now, just the deform bones.
@@bexywan5244 well i don't think I would want to edit the animation after bringing it back to blender, but if needed I can retarget animation to the rig. It's a pain so I will avoid getting into such trouble.
next we need a fking AI tool for retargeting the bones, it's tedious to do it manually
I actually have a video on that: th-cam.com/video/CRKJOyXvRw0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GpOh2F9ouwCDeGXc I mention multiple ways to retarget animation, one solely in blender, and two in Cascadeur, I hope it helps.
hey bruh no hate but where did your mouse cursor go
Good question, I’m just noticing that now, I would say it is because I use a custom cursor, but that shows up in my other videos, so I have no idea why it’s gone. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
5:31 you could have just hit apply transforms
Yes, I realized that after I uploaded the video, but thanks for making sure I knew
Any chance for a daz to blender using diffeomorphic addon to autorig with rigify then bringing that to casc and back workflow? Pretty please?
I’ll see what I can do, and give you an update when when I can.
@@bexywan5244 sweet!
Hello, I’m really sorry, but I couldn’t get Daz3d to work on my computer, so I can’t make that video. I have a video on mixamo to blender, so some of the steps might be the same, but sorry I couldn’t help you more.
Great tute! Can u do the same with a rigify rig?
I do believe so, yes.
Say am animating a guy shooting out a car window can i export the door into Cascadeur ? i want him sitting out the window shooting to do that without referance is crazy lol
Cool scene, I hope your animating goes well. You should be able to import the door into Cascadeur, as long as it doesn’t have any bones connected to it. If you have any more trouble, I’m happy to help.
@@bexywan5244 thanks for the help.. much appreciated
How did you launch "rig mode helper"? I’ve imported a scene with a model and a rig 10 times already and he doesn’t notice the existence of the rig.
First, go into rigging mode by clicking the rig mode button on the top right. Then in the new panel on the left, go to the top and click on ‘quick rigging tool’ If you need more help, please let me know.
Goated video
Thanks
my elbow does not fix
Does your rig (in the rigging menu) look exactly like the basic, like where the points are and stuff?
@@bexywan5244 my elbow points are reversed. the long points. like those long points in the knees. I fixed it by bending my elbow joints more in blender after that exported again and now its works fine.
Awesome ❤
Thank you ❤️
Awesome video! I had so much trouble trying to import back and forth. This saved me so much time and I can't be thankful enough. Cheers!
Thanks, I’m glad that it helped you!
Thanks,it's really helpfull!!
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
Hey! good work, appreciated and keep doing it! I was hoping you would cover how to expoer/import the fbx with animations that could be edited in casc. Seems like you have to remake all the animations, or am I missing some info ?
Thanks! I have this video that covers how to import the animations: th-cam.com/video/C025pGzGGFU/w-d-xo.html, but basically, you just need to make sure that the animation is included in the fbx file, and then go to ‘import’ ‘animation’. If that doesn’t work, try selecting the bones first and then importing. Let me know if it works!
how are you not getting the problem where bones Local Scale imports at a 100 instead of maintaining the original bone's size like yours?
I’m not sure, I’ve never had that happen before, maybe the rig has an animation attached that is conflicting with the rest pose?
sadly, its just happens if i import directly :( the everything looks ok until u bring the model back to blender, and find out Casca blew up the root, and everything attached to it 100 times
@@Tenchinu weird, have you tried to scale it down in Cascadeur or up in blender?
@@bexywan5244 yeah. If you scale it up in blender, it simply appears gigantic in Cascadeur (which, if you shrink again to 1, it breaks the bones). If you just import it and shrink in Casca, it also breaks the bones. I noticed that in ur vid, ur working with a .25 scale and ur Lucario appear at 20 in Casca. you also made the bones from scratch... which is not smt im doing. Im using the UE5 bones. Maybe could also be that? No idea :(
@@Tenchinu I actually didn’t make the bones from scratch, I just renamed them. In Cascadeur, what are you shrinking? In the outliner, you should see the name of your rig, it’s not a specific bone and it’s not a specific mesh, it’s the whole thing, try shrinking that.
9:47 i've been trying to do that for actual months. your a lifesaver.
I’m glad it helped you!
But, how would I get the animation from the improper rig to the proper one??
I think that just changing the rig I the animated scene should work, if it doesn’t, let me know and I’ll try to help you through it, I can’t troubleshoot very well right now because I don’t have my computer with me, but I’ll do what I can.
thx
